Nasal polyps is a common disease in clinical, with nasal mucosal inflammatory hyperplasia. However, the molecular mechanism of it is largely unknown. Tumor suppressor genes, proliferation and apoptosis related genes and cytokines play an important role in the formation and pathological development of nasal polyps. The expression level of tumor suppressor related proteins and receptors is not constant, high level of these expression can stimulate nasal mucosal proliferation, while low or lacking expression may facilitate nasal polyps cells apoptosis. Both proliferation and apoptosis make a big difference in nasal polyps formation and development. This article concludes the relationships between new progressions in nasal polyps pathogenesis and tumor suppressor genes and proliferation apoptosis genes, which not only helps practitioners deeply and comprehensively understand nasall polyps pathogenesis but promotes explorations to effective therapeutics.

China Pharmacy 1991;0(02):-
OBJECTIVE:To provide reference for clinical rational use of anti-epileptic drugs. METHODS:In this retrospective review, serum concentrations of anti-epileptic drugs in a total of 499 patients who were treated with anti-epileptic drugs (such as sodium phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine and valproate sodium) in our hospital during 2007 were analyzed statistically. RESULTS:Among the patients receiving one kind of anti-epileptic drugs,206 cases (61.49%) were within normal range in blood concentration versus only 45 cases (44.12%) for patients receiving combined drugs. In addition, the above four drugs (sodium phenytoin, phenobarbital, carbamazepine and valproate sodium) were detected in 59.68% of the patients who took Chinese medicines, and among them,3.23% were within normal range in blood concentration. CONCLUSION:Monitoring on serum concentrations of anti-epileptic drugs is conducive to a better control of therapeutic concentration. It is advisable to refrain from using anti-epileptic drugs in combination but to adopt individualized administration. In addition, great importance should be attached to whether there are chemo-synthetic drug components contained in Chinese medicine.

Inspection of the complexion is one of the characteristics of traditional Chinese medical diagnosis. Traditional Chinese medicine puts high emphasis on inspection of the complexion and there exists detailed discussion on inspection of facial expression in Neijing. The so-called inspection of facial expression is a method to diagnose diseases according to the theory of five Zang-organs matching five elements and five colors by distinguishing various changes of facial color, such as green, red, yellow, white and black based on yin and yang doctrine and five elements theory. Nowadays, more and more experts have introduced color optical theory and modern devices into the modern research field of traditional Chinese medical diagnosis with the development of color optical theory and the renewal of determining devices, such as digital camera, color differentiation meter and spectrophotometer, to make the research more scientific and objective and avoid the deviations caused by human factors. The modern study of traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis has made fare progress, consequently enriching the contents of its facial color observation and giving a more scientific explanation of it. However, the devices being used now are still disunited; the data may be unilateral and cannot contain the whole information. So the most important task is to invent and use scientific devices conforming better with the theory of five colors observation in traditional Chinese medicine.

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2022;34(10):990-995
Objective:
To investigate the risk factors of road traffic injuries caused by electric bicycles, so as to provide insights into the prevention and control of road traffic injuries.
Methods:
A case-control study was performed (cases to controls ratio of 1∶2). The riders of electric bicycles with road-traffic injuries in Songjiang District, Shanghai Municipality during the period between June 2020 and May 2021 were included in the case group, and age-, gender- and occupation-matched riders of electric bicycles without road-traffic injuries in the same study area during the same study period served as controls. Participants' demographic data, living habits, health status, awareness of safe riding and riding behaviors were collected using questionnaire surveys, and the risk factors of road-traffic injuries caused by electric bicycles were identified using a multivariable conditional logistic regression model.
Results:
There were 167 participants in the case group, including 122 men (73.05%) and with an age of 38 (21) years, and 334 participants in the control group, including 244 men (73.05%) and with an age of 32 (18) years. Multivariable conditional logistic regression analysis identified sleep duration of less than 8 h (OR=1.760, 95%CI: 1.111-2.786), occasional/frequent anxiety (OR=5.140, 95%CI: 1.067-24.750), unawareness of riding speed limit of 25 km/h (OR=2.352, 95%CI: 1.460-3.788), having been warned or punished for violating traffic rules (OR=2.246, 95%CI: 1.243-4.060), running a red light (OR=1.725, 95%CI: 1.043-2.852), riding speed of ≥ 30 km/h (sometimes, OR=2.409, 95%CI: 1.475-3.933; often, OR=4.711, 95%CI: 2.153-10.309) as risk factors of electric bicycle road-traffic injuries.
Conclusions
Electric bicycle road-traffic injuries is associated with sleep duration, anxiety, awareness of traffic rules, and unsafe riding behaviors. Traffic safety education and law enforcement is required to be reinforced among riders of electric bicycles.

Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2010;19(9):523-525
Objective To isolate and identify leukemia stem cells from acute myeloid leukemia patients for further research. Methods By Ficoll density gradient centrifugation, mononuclear cells were firstly separated from bone marrow of patients. According to specific surface markers, CD+34 CD+123 of leukemic stem cells were sorted by flow cytometer. Their ability of self-renewal and differentiation were evaluated by colony formation and cobblestone forming ability. At the same time, the purity and cell morphology of CD+34 CD+123 cells was analysed. Results Comparared with total mononuclear cells, the proportion of the CD+34 CD+123 cells after sorting was 10.7 %, and these cells showed the ability of colony forming and cobblestone forming, and the purity proportion of CD+34 CD+123 cells was 62.1%. Conclusion The leukemia stem cells were isolated successfully and could be used in further study.

Chinese Journal of Forensic Medicine 2002;0(06):-
Objective In human, both in vivo and in vitro, telomere shortening appears to be a major component of cell senescence and aging. However, gender specific human telomere shortening needs to be further characterized. Therefore our study is aimed at clarifying gender-dependent profiles of telomere shortening. Methods 123 peripheral blood samples were collected from healthy individuals of different ages. The mean telomeric restricted fragment (TRF) was measured using Southern Blotting with Dig-labeled probe. Results Distinguished dynamics profiles of telomere shortening were observed among different age groups. Conclusion The result indicates that there are gender specific dynamic profiles of telomere shortening. Therefore, the gender must be considered when an individual age is estimated by telomeric restricted fragment length assay.
