BackgroundMonocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1)plays an important role in the tumor, inflammation, diabetic retinopathy and other neovascular disease, but the expression and the role of MCP-1 in the oxygen induced retinopathy(OIR) model have rarely been reported. Objective This study was to investigate the expression of MCP-1 in the retina development of newborn mouse and in mouse models with OIR.Methods C57BL/6J newborn mice were divided into two groups and 60 mice in each group.Mice in OIR group were exposed to 75% oxygen for 5 days and then to room air.All mice in normal control group exposed to room air only.Ten mice in each group were randomly chosen and sacrificed at postnatal 5,7,12,14,17,21 days. The expression of MCP-1 in mouse retina was detected with the method of immunohistoehemistry and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results MCP-1 positive cells were seen in normal mouse retina.Up-regulation of MCP-1 positive cells was detected both in 12 days in normal control group and in 14 days in OIR group.MCP-1 mRNA was detected in mouse retina at 5 days, and a transient up-regulation of MCP-1 mRNA was observed in 12 days in normal control group.MCP-1 mRNA in OIR group significantly increased in 14 days in comparison with the normal control group( P =0.028,P =0.001 ). Conclusions Expression of MCP-1 is detectable in whole retinal development procession of mice.A transient up-regulation of MCP-1 expression is detected in the critical period of retinal vascular development in mice models with OIR,which is closely related to the retinal vascular development and progression of retinal new vessels.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the feasibility of using percutaneous K-wires fixation after manipulative reduction combining with gypsum or splint fixation for treatment of the Barton fracture of aged people.
METHODSFrom June 2011 to May 2013, 91 patients with closed and fresh Barton fracture were analyzed retrospectively which information was complete. According to different methods these patients were divided into three groups: 33 patients in group A were treated by simplex fixation of gypsum or splint after manipulative reduction, including 20 males and 13 females with an average age of (63.27 ± 5.83) years old; 35 patients in group B were treated by percutaneous K-wires fixation after manipulative reduction combining with gypsum or splint fixation, including 23 males and 12 females with an average age of (64.25 ± 4.53) years old; 23 patients in group C were treated by open reduction and internal fixation including 15 males and 8 females with an average age of (64.04 ± 4.83) years old.
RESULTSAll the patients were followed up for 10 to 16 months with an average of 12 months by the method of recheckging in outpatient clinic. According Dienst scoring system: in group A, the result was excellent in 15 cases, good in 7 cases, fair in 11 cases; in group B, excellent in 25 cases, good in 6 cases, fair in 4 cases; in group C, excellent in 16 cases, good in 5 cases, fair in 2 cases. The excellent and good rate of group C was better than that of group B and A, further more group B is better than group A. According to X- ray standard, in group A, 26 patients were acceptable, 7 patients were unacceptable; in group B,28 patients were acceptable, 7 patients were uacceptable; in group C, 19 patients were acceptable,4 patients were unacceptable; there were no statistical significant difference (P > 0.05). There were 18 patients with emerging recrispation in group A, 10 patients in group B, 6 patients in group C, the result of group B and C was better than that of group A, and there was no statistically significant between group B and C (P > 0.05).
CONCLUSIONUsing percutaneous K-wires fixation after manipulative reduction combining with gypsum or splint fixation for treatment of the Barton fracture of aged people is an effective method, it has advantages of micro-invasived, reliable fixation, less complication, not need to fix wrist joint and early functional exercise.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effects, safety of ureteral calculus accom panied with granulation treated with pneumatic lithotripsy and two-macron laser via transurethral uret eroscopic. Methods From June 2007 to March 2010, 38 cases of ureteral calculus accompanied with granulation were treated with 2 μm laser and pneumatic lithotripsy via ureteroscope. All the patients had middle to severe hydronephrosis. The granulation under the calculus was vaporized with the 2 μm laser, and then the ureteral stone was fragmented with pneumatic lithotripsy. The clinical datum, stone disintegration rate, lithagogue rate and complication were retrospectively analyzed. Results Among 38 cases of ureteral stones, rate of successful fragmentation in a single procedure was 92%(35/38). The operation time ranged from 15 to 45 min, mean (23.0±6.5)min. Estimated the intraoperative blood loss was (7.0±4.5)ml. The postoperative hospitalization time was (5.2±0.6)d. Two upper ureteral stones were pushed back to the renal pelvis and a conversion to extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) was needed. The insertion of the ureteroscope was failed in 1 case who was accepted open operation finally. Among the 37 cases treated via ureteroscopy, stone clearance rate was about 86% after operation 1 month. Follow-up examinations for 3-15 months (mean 8 months)showed no ureteral stenosis or urinary infection. Conclusion 2 μm laser and pneumatic lithotripsyvia ureteroscope could be a highly effective and safe therapy for treatment of ureteral stone with granulation.

0.05).Conclusions The reduced expression of HLA-G on placenta in ICP patients may alter the maternal-fetal immune response and thus be involved in the pathogenesis of this disorder. Dexamethasone can upregulate the expression of HLA-G on placenta. The 14 bp deletion polymorphism in exon 8 of HLA-G gene might not have a significant influence on the development of ICP.

Microbiology 1992;0(04):-
The vip3A gene of Bt9816C was cloned and the sequencing result was submitted to GenBank (accession no.AY945939). The gene was identified as a novel vip3Aa gene, which was assigned name vip3Aa18 by the Bacillus thuringiensis delta-endotoxin nomenclature committee. Subsequently, vip3Aa18 was expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 and bioassay demonstrated that the purified recombinant Vip3Aa18 had high toxicity against Helicoverpa armigera and Spodoptera exigua. The results of sequence analysis revealed that a carbohydrate binding domain exists on the C-termini 536 to 667 residues of Vip3Aa18,which maybe participate in binding to midgut receptors in susceptible insects. Moreover, a transmembrane helices located on N-termini 272 to 292 residues was proposed responding for pore formation. Furthermore, a putative disulfide bond was found in the Vip3Aa18 sequence. The specific structures and sites of Vip3Aa18 sequence imply potential function.

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
The potential of Rhizobium sp. N613 to produce the exopolysaccharide (REPS) was studied in this paper. Using an orthogonal design in a flask-shaker culture system, the fermentation medium and conditions of synthesizing REPS were optimized. Based on these results, the fermentation kinetic parameters were obtained in the batch fermentation with a 10L fermentor. The REPS yield of 11.31g/L was achieved by metabolic regulation during 40 h fed-batch fermentation. Transplanted tumor models of sarcoma 180 in mice were used to evaluate the anti-tumor effect. The result of anti-tumor activities showed that inhibition rate was 53.40%, when dose of REPS was 5mg/kg. These results indicate that REPS has the following properties: the short duration of fermentation, the high yield, the low cost, the effective immunocompetence and thickening. Thus, REPS has the value of development and application.
