Chinese Mental Health Journal 1991;0(05):-
Objectives:To translate the English version of Quality of Life Questionnaire of Stomach 22 into Chinese, and to test the reliability and validity of the Chinese Version of QLQ-STO22.Methods:From 1st June to 31st December,2003,140 patients with gastric cancer were sampled as study participants in three hospitals using cluster sampling method. All participants were interviewed with QLQ-STO22 Chinese version by the investigators who were trained in advance. Results:Nearly all ICCs of scales of STO22 were above 0.75;the split-half reliability coefficient is 0.78 and the Cronbach'a coefficient is 0.80.These results proved that the questionnaires had good test-retest reliability,split-half reliability and internal consistency.Three common factors were extracted by factor analysis, which ccould account for more than 60% of total variance and factor loads of the three common factors were above 0.5 in related items.Conclusion:QLQ-STO22 has good reliability and validity, which is available for the study of life quality among Chinese gastric cancer patients.

Objective To investigate the incidence and risk factors of chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP) and its effects on the quality of life in a large sample prospective study. Methods A total of 1098 patients of either sex, aged 18-70 yr,of American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status Ⅰ or Ⅱ,undergoing elective surgery, were enrolled in the study.Data regarding patient age, gender, body mass index, educational level, marital status, living situations,occupation,pre-surgical pain in the site of surgery, complications, type of surgery, surgery time and anesthesia method were recorded. The highest numeric rating scale scores within 3 days after surgery were also recorded. The patients were followed up at 3,6 and 12 months after surgery to record the development of CPSP.The patients were divided into CPSP group and non-CPSP group according to whether or not CPSP developed.Multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to identify the risk factors for CPSP,and the quality of life was scored. Results A total of 981 patients completed the 1 year follow-up after surgery, the incidence of CPSP was 35.7%,and the constituent ratio of the distribution of the course was as follows:3 months ≤ postsurgical course < 6 months was 33.1%;6 months ≤ postsurgical course < 12 months was 16.8%;postsurgical course ≥ 12 months was 50.1%.Female,no diabetes mellitus and pre-surgical pain in the site of surgery were the independent risk factors for CPSP (P< 0.05).Compared with non-CPSP group, the physiological function score, professional function score, body pain score, vitality score, social function score, mental health score and general health score were significantly decreased (P<0.01),and no significant change was found in the emotional function score in CPSP group (P>0.05).Conclusion The probability of development of CPSP is high and the course is long, and the quality of life score is decreased;female,no diabetes mellitus and pre-surgical pain in the site of surgery are the independent risk factors for CPSP.

Objective To summarize the technique and managements of complications in endovascular embolization on intracranial aneurysm with Guglielmi detachable coils(GDC),and to evaluate the effect of the treatment. Methods One hundred and thirty six cases with Aneurizym were treated using GDC to embolize the aneurismal sac via femoral artery approach. Results One hundred and thirty six aneurysms were cured.Of them 132 cases recovered clinically,4 patients died. The mortality was 2.9%. The sac of 123 aneurysms were embolizied at 100%,8 cases with 95% embolization,5 with 90% embolization.3 aneurysms reptured during the embolization, cerebral vasospasm happened in 7 eases. microcoil escaped in 2 case.Three recurring cases were cured after second GDC embolization. The technique-related complications occured in 13 cases. No re-bleeding occurred during the 6 to 54-month follow-up.Conclusion Endovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysm with coils is a safe and effective treatment for intracranial aneurysm.Advances in Techniques and treating the complications correctly would decrease the complications and improve future outcomes.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of Dachengqi Granule (DCG) in the recovery of gastrointestinal function and the condition of patients in the perioperative period of total laparoscopic hysterectomy.
METHODSTwo hundred and one patients received total laparoscopic hysterectomy were assigned to 2 groups, the treated group (103 cases) was orally administered DCG twice, 9 g at 4:00 pm, one day before operation and 6 g at 16 h after operation, while to the control group, enema with 400 mL of soap solution at 8:00 pm one day before operation and acupoint ST 36 injection with 1 mL neostigmine at 16 h after operation were given.
RESULTSTotal laparoscopic hysterectomy was accomplished successfully in all patients, no need to receive open abdominal operation, and with no post-operational complications. In the treated group, the operation time was (116.8 +/- 29.7) min, the operative blood loss was (141.6 +/- 25.1) mL, the post-operative temperature was (37.38 +/- 1.39) degrees C, while those in the control group were (119.6 +/- 28.4) min, (150.6 +/- 22.1) mL, and (37.55 +/- 0.43) degrees C, correspondingly, showing insignificant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The white blood cell count on the 1st day after operation was (11.18 +/- 2.93) x 10(9)/L in the treated group, and (12.57 +/- 3.55) x 10(9)/L in the control group (P < 0.01); time for post-operative aerofluxus in them was (35.66 +/- 5.72) h, and (41.77 +/- 6.06) h; time for post-operative defecation (48.47 +/- 18.97) h, and (54.81 +/- 21.30) h, respectively, all showed statistical difference between the two groups (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAdministering DCG before and early after operation can effect better than pre-operational enema in ensuring the gynecological operation progression smoothly, and it could also promote the recovery of post-operational gastrointestinal function and improve patients' condition in the perioperative period.
