Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 2019;50(4):925-930
Objective: To research the effects of total flavonoids of Livistona chinensis (TFFL) on normal liver LO2 cells induced by acetaminophen (APAP), and study the liver protective mechanism on liver injury induced by acetaminophen in vitro. Methods: The effects of TFFL on LO2 cells and cell activity induced by acetaminophen were determined by MTT method; The apoptosis rate of LO2 cells induced by APAP was researched by Flow Cytometry combine with staining agent Hoechst 33342; The levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), reduced glutathione (GSH), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) were examined; The expressions of iNOS and nitrotyrosine tubulin (NT) in APAP-induced LO2 hepatocyte injury cells was studied by Western blotting method. Results: TFFL had no toxicity to LO2 cells at a given concentration which can promote the proliferation. At the same time, experiment results showed that TFFL prophylactically reduced the apoptosis of LO2 cells induced by APAP. TFFL decreased the level of AST and MDA, increase the level of GSH and SOD, and inhibit the expressions of iNOS protein and NT protein. Conclusion: TFFL has a protective effect on LO2 cells injury induced by APAP. The possible protective mechanism of TFFL is related to the inhibition of oxidative stress and the nitro stress.

Objective To study the preoperative treatment and prognosis observation? in sensitized recipients of kidney transplantation.Method Forty-one recipients positive for preoperative PRA accepted renal allograft transplantation from January 2007 to July 2012.All recipients were given immunosuppressant or immune induction by anti-CD25rnAb in advance, and plasma exchange, immunoadsorption and intravenous high-dose immune globulin were administered.Meanwhile, donor HLA antigens had to avoid all stored HLA antibodies of the recipient, and lymphocyte cytotoxicity cross test (CDC) had to be negative.Anti-human lymphocyte globulin (ATG) was used to strengthen the immune induction, and tacrolimus + mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) + corticosteroids triple immunosuppressive regimen was adopted after transplantation. Then intravenous micafungin would be given after transplanted kidney function was normal, and ganciclovir and sulfamethoxazole were taken orally to prevent infection.Result In 41 recipients positive for preoperative PRA,13 cases were positive for only HLA class Ⅰ antibodies,15 cases for only HLA class Ⅱ antibodies, and there existed 13 cases of both HLA class Ⅰ and class Ⅱ antibodies also with PRA≥50%.Fifteen patients achieved normal serum creatinine in one week, and no hyperacute rejection and accelerated rejection occurred.Fourteen recipients experienced an episode of acute rejection (34.15%,14/41): 12 recovered by steroids bolus therapy, and the other two reversed in 3-5 days by cyclophosphamide or ATG treatment. One case died of mycotic pneumonia in 4 months later.One-year recipient/kidney survival rate was 97.6% (40/41).Conclusion The recipients positive for preoperative PRA only can accept renal allograft transplant while the donor's HLA antigens had to avoid all stored HLA antibodies of recipients themselves and CDC test was negative. After that the combination of desensitization therapy, immune induction therapy and postoperative potent immunosuppressant can prevent acute rejection effectively and increase postoperative recipient/kidney survival rate.

BACKGROUND:Tooth wear is the physiological change that accompanied by a person’s life, type and nature, maxil ary and mandibular occlusion status, physical status, and living environment may affect it.
OBJECTIVE:To review the occurrence and development of tooth wear, as wel as research on the morphology of wear surface.
METHODS:The PubMed database was searched by the first author for the articles from January 1952 to
December 2012. The articles on the generation of tooth wear facets, macroscopic and microscopic studies of occlusal wear facets, wear measurement method, relationship between tooth wear and oral diseases, and
application of tooth wear facets in forensic research were included. The key words were“tooth, wear, diet,
information, dentistry, anthropology”in English. A total of 59 articles were included according to the inclusion criteria for review.
RESUTLS AND CONCLUSION:With the development of wearing, some oral clinical symptoms may occur. Just as there are no same fingerprints in the world, the individual tooth wear facet is unique. Therefore, the research on occlusal wear facets has great significance for understanding the diet habits, cultural development, age and other information, as wel as for dentistry, anthropology and forensic science. The macroscopic and microscopic study of tooth wear surface can provide a large amount of individual information. The current studies on tooth wear facets cannot ful y exhibit al the implicated information, so the further studies are needed.

Functional targets are the objects that Chinese herbal medicines act directly upon. If the relationships between the properties of Chinese herbs and their functional targets were analyzed clearly, it would benefit the overall understanding of the holistic mechanisms of Chinese herbal treatments. In this paper, data regarding the properties of Chinese herbs and their functional targets were collected from the 2005 edition of The People's Republic of China Pharmacopoeia. After analyzing and assessing the data, the relationships were defined between the four qi, meridian entry and medicinal functional targets and between the four qi, five flavors and mode of function. Then the relationships between a single herbal medicine and a prescription were analyzed, and the results conformed with the traditional knowledge of Chinese herbal nature and efficacy. This demonstrated that the holistic mechanisms of the properties of Chinese herbs adhere to the findings, which may be beneficial for the development and compatibility of Chinese herbal medicines.
