Objective To compare the values of a screening methods by OC-Hemodia and chemical fecal occult blood test (COB) for colorectal cancer in elderly people. Methods The screening programme targeted colorectal cancer in old people was conducted on 1 100 participants aged 60-92 years (mean was 81.3 years). All subjects received OC-Hemodia and COB examinations. Positive subjects were examined by colonoscopy and/or barium enema. Out of 1 100 subjects 1 046 were followed up in the next five years. Results Among 1 100 subjects, 231 subjects (21.0%) were positive by OC-Hemodia test and 159 subjects (14.5%) were positive by COB. Objective To explore different socio-demographic and clinical characteristics for early onset patients (EOP) with psoriasis and late onset patients (LOP) with psoriasis in Chinese population and to provide scientific evidences for establishing comprehensive prevention and treatment strategy for psoriasis.Methods Cross-sectional study was performed.A total of 942 diagnosed psoriasis patients who paid a visit to outpatient clinic in a tertiary hospital in China from 12th September 2013 to 19th May 2015 was consecutively enrolled and investigated.Exploratory analysis was conducted to detect the association between disease onset age and patients features.Results Among 942 enrolled psoriasis outpatients,the average age was (40.6 ± 13.6) years with a range from 5 to 80 years.The sex ratio was 2.1 in favor of male.The most observed type of psoriasis in the present study was psoriasis vulgaris (98.3％).The average psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) for patients were 9.47 ±7.63.Comorbidity was combined in 20.2％ cases.Patients with EOP had a significantly higher likelihood of family history of disease.Compared EOP to LOP,LOP had a significantly higher likelihood of comorbidities involvement (P ＜ 0.05) and significant higher BMI index (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The present study supports the hypothesis that there are clinical differences between EOP and LOP in Chinese population.Both dermatologists and patients should pay more attention to psoriasis-associated features,such as family history and comorbidity diseases involvements.

Objective To analyze the clinical and pathological characteristics of breast carcinoma in elderly female patients and to offer the standard clinical diagnosis and treatment for breast carcinoma.Methods A total of 178 patients admitted to Breast Center of Beijing Hospital from January to December 2011 were enrolled in this retrospective study.Patients were divided into non-elderly group and elderly group.Clinical features,imaging diagnosis,operation patterns and pathological diagnosis were recorded.The data were analyzed by using SAS 9.1 software.Results The patients diagnosed as breast carcinomas in BI-RAD 4-5 categories by mammography were much more in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (82.1％ vs.63.0％,P＜0.05).The diagnostic accuracy rates of ultrasonography and mammography in the elderly group were comparable(P＞ 0.05),while in the non-elderly group,the diagnostic accuracy rate of ultrasonography was higher than that of mammography (P＜0.05).The incidence of concurrent diseases was higher in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (P＜0.05).The patients undergoing breast resection operation were much more in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (14 cases vs.3 cases,P＜0.05).The pathological diagnosis analysis showed that there were no significant differences in the number of ER-positive cells and PR-positive cells,tumor size,histological grade,pathological stage between the two groups (all P＞0.05).The incidence of lymph node metastasis was lower in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (P＜0.05).The percentage of Ki-67 positive cells was lower in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (P＜0.05).The percentage of CerbB-2 strongly positive (+++) cells was lower in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (5.1 ％ vs.24％,P＜0.05).The invasive ductal carcinoma was the major histological type of breast cancer in both two groups,but there were more mixed type and other type carcinomas in the elderly group than in the non-elderly group (P＜0.05).Conclusions Ultrasonograpy and mammography have better sensitivity for breast cancer in elderly female patients.The surgical protocols are often influenced because more concurrent diseases have occurred in the elderly.There are significant differences in some prognostic factors between the two groups,which may imply a better prognosis in elderly patients.

A PCR method was used to amplify the sequence encoding the mature peptide of?-mannanase of Bacillus subtilis. The gene was inserted into the Pichia pastoris vector pPIC9K, downstream of?-factor signal peptide sequence. The resultant recombinant plasmid pPIC9K-MAN was lineared by BglII digestion and introduced into the host Pichia pastoris GS115 by PEG method. After screen, the recombinant P. pastoris strain MAN22 was obtained and fermented in large scale 5L fermenter. The recombinant mannanase activity could reach to 1102IU/ml. The properties of the recombinant mannanase were characterized.

Objective To explore the effect of preventing adhesion after the orbital blowout fracture on orbit tissue by amniotic membrane. Design Experimental study. Participants Twenty-six New Zealand rabbits. Methods Establishing rabbit orbital blowout fracture model, the right orbit of twenty rabbits was repaired by hydroxyapatite (HA) parceled of amniotic membrane, and left orbit was only repaired by HA, the orbits of the other six rabbits weren't repaired. Then we got the tissue around bone after one week and one month, and compared the difference of three groups. Main Outcome Measures Inflammatory response of tissue around bone was ana- lyzed by HE, picric acid Sirius Scarlet dying, TGF-?immunohistoehemical observation. Results One week after operation, HE and im- munohistochemistry showed that the difference was not significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group (P=0.351, P=0.413), and difference is significant between blank group and experimental group (P=0.012, P=0.041). One month after operation, HE and immunohistoehemistry showed that the difference was significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group(P=0.037, P=0.048), and there is no significant difference between experimental group and blank group(P=0.285, P=0.472). Conclusion It has an important role of anti-inflammatory and anti-adhesion in the chronic stage of inflammatory after orbital blowout fracture repaired by man-made plates of amniotie membrane.
