Objective To evaluate the value of creatine kinase MB(CK-MB) and cardiac troponin I(cTnI)to earlier diagnosis on myocardial injury in newborn infants with asphyxial.Methods Dynamic variation of serum CK-MB and cTnI levels were measured at birth 1,5 and 10 days,respectively,in 40 asphyxia newborn infants and 20 control neonates.Results Serum CK-MB and cTnI levels of asphyxia neonates were significantly higher than those in control group(P0.05).Conclusion The determination of CK-MB and cTnI levels can help the prediction of myocardial injury after asphyxia.

Objective To study the genome DNA methylation in rheumatoid arthirits(RA)and the re- lated factors of DNA methylation.Methods Twenty-first cases with RA and 20 controls were recruited to par- ticipate the study.Plasma Hcy,SAM,SAH,the MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism and the expression of LFA-1 in CD4~+T cells was measured in all patients and controls.Results①The SAM levels were lower sig- nificantly in RA groups than in controls.The SAH levels were higher significantly in RA groups than in con- trols.②There was significant inverse correlation between plasma Hcy level and SAM level(r=-0.932,P＜0.01). There was significant positive correlation between plasma Hcy level and SAH level(r=0.924,P＜0.01).③The expression of LFA-1 in CD4~+T cells was higher significantly in RA groups than in controls.There was a signif- icant positive correlation between LFA-1 expression level and Hcy level(r=0.557,P＜0.01),a significant in- verse correlation between LFA-1 expression level and SAM level(r=-0.651,P＜0.01).④The MTHFR gene mu- tation lead to dramatically increase of Hcy,SAH level and the expression of LFA-1 level in CD4~+T cells and genome DNA hypomethylation.Conclusion①Hypomethylation of genome DNA is found in most RA pa- tients.②The factors associated with genome DNA hypomethylation include MTHFR gene mutation and hyper- homocysteinemia.③The expression of LFA-1 in CD4~+ T cells is higer in RA groups than in controls,which re- lates to the DNA methylation level and the MTHFR gene C677T polymorphism.

Objective To investigate the relapse risk assessment for patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia(APL)through testing PML-RAR? fusion gene by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RQ-PCR).Methods Relative copies of PML-RAR? fusion gene were measured in 25 patients with APL in phases of first diagnosis,complete remission(CR)and relapse.The minimal residual disease(MRD)situations were also monitored in 6 of the 25 patients.Results Different PML-RAR? fusion gene expression levels were observed in patient groups of different phases of the disease.(P

OBJECTIVETo study the chemical constituents from the bark of Mitragyna rotundifolia.

METHODColumn chromatographic techniques were applied to isolate constituents. A combination of IR, MS and NMR spectroscopy was used to identify structures of constituents.

RESULTSix compounds were isolated from the n-BuOH fraction and their structures were elucidated as quinovic acid-3-O-beta-D-6-deoxy-glucopyranoside, 28-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester (1), quinovic acid-27-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl ester (2), quinovic acid-3-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside (3), qunovic acid-27-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl ester (4), quovic acid-3-O-beta-D-6-deoxy-glucopyranoside (5), qunovic acid-27-O-beta-6-deoxy-D-glucopyranosyl ester (6).

CONCLUSIONCompounds 1 - 6 were isolated for the first time from the plant. Compounds 1 - 4 and 6 were isolated for the first time form the genus.

OBJECTIVETo explore clinical outcomes and advantages of anterior small-incision focus debridement with posterior internal fixation through muscle spa ring in treating patients with lumbar spinal tuberculosis.

METHODSFrom February 2010 to February 2014, totally 82 patients with lumbar spinal tuberculosis were treated by posterior individual fixation with small-incision focus debridement,including 50 males and 32 females with an average of 50.5 years old. All patients were divided into two groups according to different procedures. Forty-nine patients in group A were treated with anterior small-incision focus debridement with posterior internal fixation through muscle spa ring at stage I ; and 33 patients in group B were treated with focus debridement with posterior internal fixation by extraperitoneal approach at stage I . Postoperative mechanical ventilation time, preoperative and postoperative Cobb angle, visual analogue scale (VAS), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and Frankel grading were observed and compared. Postoperative complications, stability of internal fixation and bone union were compared.

RESULTSAll patients were followed-up from 15 to 36 months with an average of 23.7 months. Psoas abscess of three patients in group A and 1 patient in group B on the opposite side increased and were healed by the secondary apocenosis. The other 78 cases were healed at stage I, and no sinus tract formation, incisional hernia, leakage of cerebrospinal and occurrence of spinal tuberculosis were occurred. Fracture healing time ranged from 3 to 7 months with an average of 4.6 months. Postoperative mechanical ventilation time and VAS score in group A was better than group B. There were no statistical differences in Cobb angle, ESR and Frankel grading at the final following-up between two groups.

CONCLUSIONAnterior small-incision focus debridement with posterior internal fixation through muscle spa ring in treating patients with lumbar spinal according to degree of damage is a safe and effective method.

BACKGROUND: At present, common therapies of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) are uvulo-palato-pharyngoplasty and nasal continuous positive airway pressure (N-CPAP). The effective rate of surgical treatment was 50% and the prostecdtive efficacy is decreased gradually. As to treatment with breathing machine, some of the patients can not adapt to it.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of auricular acupoint pressing therapy on clinical indexes of patients with OSAS and its clinical effect,and analyze the possible mechanism.DESIGN: Randomized control observation.SETTING: Department of Acupuncture and Department of Respiration,Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University.PARTICIPANTS: Forty-five outpatients with OSAS between April 2001 and April 2004, who were diagnosed as OSAS in the room of sleep-monitoring of Department of Respiration, were selected from the Clinic of Respiration, Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University, including 44 males and one female. All subjects were randomly divided into treatment group (n=30) and control group (n=15).METHODS: ①Patients in the treatment group were treated by auricular acupoint pressing therapy, acupoint-locating: shenmen, sympathesis, subcortex, heart, lung, spleen, kidney, anterior ear lobe. Each acupoint was pressed about 10-20 times with 3-5 times every day and 10 days as onecourse. Patients in the control group were treated with placebo and orally took 100 mg of Vitamin C three times a day. Patients in both groups were detected by 7hour nocturnal polysomnography before treatment and 10 days after the treatment, and the curative effects were evaluated.②Criteria of the curative effects on clinical symptoms: Effective: clinical symptoms such as dizzy,somnolence, oppressed chest and obstructing etc. were significantly ameliorated with nocturnal times decreased from 4-5 times to once or none and awake times decreased from 4-5 to once or none. Valid: clinical symptoms were improved. Invalid: no amelioration was found in clinicalsymptoms.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Changes of clinical symptoms before and after the treatment and hypopnea index (HI), apnea index (AI), apnea hypopnea index (AHI), minimum blood oxygen saturation as well as the longest apnea time detected by polysomnography were observed.RESULTS: A total of 45 patients with OSAS were involved in the analysis of results, and no one withdrew from the study.①The clinical symptoms in auricular acupoint treatment group were significantly ameliorated than control group. In the treatment group, 17 patients were effective (56.7%), 12 patients were valid and one patient was invalid. The clinical symptoms in the control group were not improved before and after the treatment, and there were significant differences between the treatment group and control group (P ＜ 0.05). ②Comparison in each inspecting indexes by polysomnogram: those in the auricular pressing therapy group were remarkably different from those in the control group after treatment (P ＜ 0.001). There was no significant difference in all indexes of the control group between and after the treatment (P ＞ 0.05).③The differences in AI, HI, AHI, minimum blood oxygen saturation as well as the longest apnea time of the auricular pressing treatment group after the treatment were markedly different from those before treatment [(65.25±7.44), (53.69±10.80) times/hour; (72.40±7.92), (59.22±10.55) times/hour; (9.46±2.6), (6.5±2.9) times/hour; (73.3±4.8)%,(77.67±3.78)%; (90.16±33), (45.33±24.69) s,P ＜ 0.001]. Among them, the maximum decrease of AI was 19.3 times/hour, the maximum decrease of AHI was 17.8 times/hour, the maximum decrease of HI was 12.9 times/hour and the maximum increase of blood oxygen saturation was 7% CONCLUSION: Auricular acupoint pressing therapy, in the treatment of OSAS, can significantly ameliorate the AI, HI; AHI, minimum blood oxygen saturation as well as the longest apnea time with better curative effects.

Terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism(T-RFLP) is a resent molecular approach that can assess subtle genetic differences between strains as well as provide insight into the structure and function of microbial communities. This method overcomes the confinement of conventional culture-dependent methods and has both high sensitivity and throughput making it ideal for comparative analyses. Though there is still no application in our country, more and more investigators are highlighting it. In this article, the fundamental principle of this technique is introduced. The recent application and the development of this technique are also summed up .

Background Chronic administration with inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase (N_?-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester,L-NAME) induces persistent hypertension,cardiovascular remodeling,surrounding vascular fibrosis, necrosis and hypertrophy of myocardium,and inflammation in cardiovascular system.Local RAS involves in hyper- tension and remodeling of cardiovascular system,via increasing production of oxygen free radicals (OFR).Objec- tive To elucidate the preventive and therapeutic effect of antioxidant Ebselen and/or VitE on hypertensive heart damage in NO~- deficient rats induced by L-NAME.Methods Thirty-two Wistar rats were administered with L- NAME 50 mg/(kg?d) by gavage for 8 weeks,and randomized to received a placebo(L),or Ebs(S,30 mg/kg?d), or VitE(V,40 mg/kg?d) or Ebs 30 mg/(kg?d)+VitE 40 mg/(kg?d),with 8 normal Wistar as control.
