Leydig cells, located in the loose interstitial tissue of seminiferous tubules, are the major site for androgen synthesis and secretion, and play an important role in the reproductively and fertility of males. The dysfunction of Leydig cells may lead to various male diseases, such as primary hypogonadism, cryptorchidism, and hypospadias. This review outlines the recent findings concerning the generation, development and regulation of Leydig cells.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the main reason of joint pain and dysfunction in the elderly in China, and its incidence is increasing year by year. In addition to the joint peripheral osteophyte formation and degeneration of articular cartilage, in?flammation, as one of the dominant pathological changes in OA, is causing more and more attention. Pro-inflammatory cyto?kines (PIC) are important mediators of inflammation. The increased level of PIC in OA can lead to systemic and local inflam?mation, results in further destruction of many kinds of tissues in joint (such as cartilage), and accelerates the development of OA. Besides, the severity of inflammation is closely related to the clinical symptoms of OA. Therefore, it is important to un?derstand the role of PIC in the pathogenesis of OA. From the perspective of the relationship between pro-inflammatory fac?tors and OA and the molecular mechanism, this article reviews the research progress in this field, which provides new con?cepts for diagnose and treatment of OA.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of the probe melting curve analysis‐based PCR assay for the detection of three types of αT .Methods A total of 149 blood and prenatal archival DNA samples (6 of which were amniotic fluid samples)with three knownαT genes ,which included 63 carriers with Hb CS ,22 cases with Hb QS ,43 individuals with Hb WS and 1 double heter‐ozygote with Hb CS and Hb WS) as well as 20 samples with normalα‐globin gene sequence that had been confirmed by RBD com‐bined with DNA sequencing were selected to test the specificity of probe melting curve analysis by blind analysis .Results The probe melting curve analysis accurately detected 100 of the DNA samples previously characterized by S RBD combined with DNA sequencing .Conclusion Probe melting curve analysis‐based PCR assay for the detection ofαT is featured with rapidity and accuracy and can be applied to clinical and prenatal diagnosis .

Objective To analyze the influencing factors of quality of life of patients with occupational pneumoconiosis in Methods Chongqing using a structural equation model. A total of 1 181 pneumoconiosis patients in Chongqing were selected - as the research subjects using convenient sampling method. The Chinese version of the SF 36 Scale was used to investigate the quality of life of the patients. Amos 24.0 software was used to construct a structural equation model reflecting the quality of life of Results ， （ ），（ ） （ ）， patients. The scores of physical health mental health and quality of life were 61.7±18.5 68.7±20.5 and 64.7±16.8 respectively. The scores of the eight dimensions of the quality of life of the research subjects were lower than that of the （ P ） Chongqing City municipal and national norms all <0.01 . Multiple linear regression results showed that personal monthly ， ， ， income pneumoconiosis stage complications employment status and smoking were the influencing factors of the quality of life （ P ） ， of pneumoconiosis patients all <0.05 . The results of the structural equation model showed that the stage of pneumoconiosis ， ， complications personal monthly income and pulmonary rehabilitation treatment could directly affect the physical and mental （ P ） ， health of the research subjects all <0.05 . In addition the stage of pneumoconiosis and complications indirectly affected the （ P ）Conclusion physical and mental health of patients by affecting pulmonary rehabilitation treatment all <0.05 . The structural equation model can be used to verify the influencing factors of the quality of life of patients with occupational pneumoconiosis. ， Complications personal monthly income and pneumoconiosis stage are the main factors affecting the quality of life of patients with occupational pneumoconiosis.

Objective To explore the effect of chemokine CXCL12 and its receptor CXCR4 on proliferation,migration and invasion of epithelial ovarian cancer cells.Methods CXCR4 and CXCL12 mRNA and protein expression of human ovarian cancer cell line CAOV3 was detected by RT-PCR and immunocytochemistry.Integrin ?1 and vascular endothelial growth factor-C(VEGF-C)mRNA expression were detected in CAOV3 cells stimulated by CXCL12.The CAOV3 cells were divided into 6 groups:control group(un-stimulated),experimental group 1(stimulated by 100 ng/ml CXCL12),experimental group 2 (stimulated by 10 ng/ml CXCL12),experimental group 3(100 ng/ml CXCL12 and 10 ?g/ml neutralizing CXCR4 antibody),experimental group 4(100 ng/ml CXCL12 and 1 ?g/ml CXCR4 antagonist AMD3100),experimental group 5(10 ?g/ml neutralizing CXCR4 antibody or ascites).Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium(MTT)was used to analyze the effects of different concentrations of CXCL12 on CAOV3 cell proliferation.Transwell invasion chamber and reconstructed basement membrane(Matrigel)were used to evaluate effect of various concentrations of CXCL12 and ascites on CAOV3 cell migration and invasion. Objective To systematically evaluate the association between protein C and Legg -Calve -Perthes disease.Methods A literature research was performed through PubMed,Embase,Cochrane library,Web of Science,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI)and Wan-fang Database from inception to February 201 6 on the association between protein C and Legg -Calve -Perthes disease.According to the Newcastle -Ottawa Scale(NOS)criteria,the quality of studies was evaluated and data were extracted.Meta -analysis was performed with Stata 1 1 .0 software.Results A total of 1 4 articles were included.Twelve articles on protein C and Legg -Calve -Perthes disease in the study group and the control group were compared.The results of Meta -analysis showed that there was no significant difference in protein C levels between the study group and the control group[odds radio(OR)=1 .41 ,95% confidence interval(CI)(0.87,2.28),P =0.1 47];five articles on protein C and the white race of Legg -Calve -Perthes disease between the study group and the control group were com-pared,The results of Meta -analysis showed that there was no significant difference in protein C levels between the whiteskin patients′group and the control group[OR =0.61 2,95%CI(1 .83,7.29),P =0.61 2];three articles on pro-tein C and the yellow race of Legg -Calve -Perthes disease between the study group and the control group were com-pared,and the results of Meta -analysis showed that there was no significant difference in protein C levels between the yellow skin patients group and the control group[OR =0.59,95%CI(0.05,6.72),P =0.080].Conclusion There is no significant correlation between protein C and Legg -Calve -Perthes disease.

Objective To study the state of erythrocyte immune function in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia,and analyze the influence of various clinical status on erythrocyte immune function.Methods Fifty-two neonates with hyperbilirubinemia were enrolled and 104 healthy neonates as the control group.The adherence rate of complement 3b-receptor on the surface of red blood cell(RBC-C3bRR) and the immune complex adherence rate of red blood cell(RBC-ICR) were detected with erythrocyte saccha-romycete rosettet test.Results 1.The level of RBC-C3bRR in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia was lower than that in control group,and the level of RBC-ICR in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia was higher than that of control group(Pa0.05).3.Comparing the neonates with unconjugated bilirubin of different concentrations,there were significant difference in RBC-ICR(Pa0.05).4.There were positive correlation between RBC-ICR and bilirubin,unconjugated bilirubin in the neonates(Pa0.05).Conclusion Erythrocyte immune function in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia is obviously lower than that of control group and it is influenced by the concentratron of bilirubin and the time of phototherapy.

Objective: To compare the efficacy of different treatment protocols in treating transient synovitis of the hip (TSH) in children and to optimize the clinical treatment strategy for this condition. Methods: Ninety kids with TSH were divided into a control group, a chiropractic group and a chiropractic plus foot bath group using the random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional traction; the chiropractic group was given chiropractic treatment based on the control group; the chiropractic plus foot bath group was given Chinese medicine foot bath based on the chiropractic group. Traction and foot bath were conducted once daily while chiropractic was done once every other day, all with 14 d as a treatment course for a total of two courses. Changes in the visual analog scale (VAS) score and range of motion (ROM) of the hip joint in the three groups were observed, and the efficacy was compared. Results: The total effective rate was 93.3％ in the chiropractic plus foot bath group, versus 76.7％ in the chiropractic group and 66.7％ in the control group, and the total effective rate was notably higher in the chiropractic plus foot bath group than in the other two groups (both P<0.05). Respectively after the first and second treatment course, the VAS score decreased significantly in each of the three groups compared with that before treatment (all P<0.01), and the ROM of the hip joint in flexion increased significantly (all P<0.01). After two treatment courses, the VAS score was lower in the chiropractic plus foot bath group than in the other two groups (both P<0.05), and its ROM of the hip joint in flexion was larger than that in the other two groups (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on traction, chiropractic plus Chinese medicine foot bath can effectively reduce pain and improve motor function of the hip joint in treating TSH.
