Objective To investigate the protective function of cytoglobin (CYGB) on neurodevelopment of the neonatal rats with hypoxic-ischemic brain damage (HIBD).Methods Healthy seven day old Sprague-Dawlay rats were randomly divided into sham operated group,HIBD group,HIBD+Hemin group and HIBD+zinc protoporphyrin (ZnPP) group.The rats of HIBD,HIBD+Heminand HIBD+ZnPPgroup were given normal saline (0.5 ml),Hemin (50 mg/kg) and ZnPP (50 mg/kg) intraperitoneally respectively,and 12 hours later the left carotid arteries of these rats were ligated and cut off,then hypoxic treated for 2 hours to establish the HIBD models.At 0,24,48 h after HIBD models were established,the expressions of CYGB in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus were observed by immunohistochemistry analysis.At 48 h after HIBD,histopathological changes of brain were observed after HE staining.At 72 h after HIBD,the water content of the brain was observed.At 28 days after HIBD,long term study memory outcome was assessed by Morris water maze.Analysis of variance and Bonferroni test were applied as statistical methods.Results (1)The expression of CYGB in brain(expressed by average gray value which negatively correlated with protein levels):At 0 h,the average gray value of CYGB in the cerebral cortex in HIBD+ Hemin and HIBD group were 166.7±5.1 and 207.1±5.1,which were lower than that in sham operated group (232.3±3.4); but in HIBD+ZnPP group,it was higher (234.9±4.5)(P＜0.05).The average gray value of CYGB was decreased with the extension of hypoxic-ischemic time.At 48 h,the average gray value of CYGB was the lowest in HIBD+Hemin group (126.0± 2.6),followed by HIBD group (150.9±4.5) and HIBD+ZnPP group (163.7±6.3),and the highest was in sham operated group (232.1±5.8)(all P＜0.01).(2) Histopathologic changes of the brain:At 48 h,typical cerebral infarction and hemorrhage were seen in HIBD,HIBD+Hemin and HIBD+ZnPP group,but those were less severe in HIBD + Hemin group than in HIBD + ZnPP group.(3) The water content of the brain:At 72 h,the water content of the left brain in HIBD and HIBD+ZnPP group was (86.5±0.4)％ and (87.3±0.3)％,which was higher than that in right brain [(85.6±0.2)％ and (85.9±0.2)％] (t 12.57 and 11.32,P＜0.01,respectively).(4)Function of the hippocampus:Morris water-maze showed that the longest average escape latency in HIBD+ZnPP group [(76.7±29.8) s],followed by HIBD group [(71.0±30.5) s],HIBD+ Hemin group [(46.7±34.0) s],and sham operated group [(38.3±30.3) s] (all P＜0.01).(5) Long-term histopathologic changes of the brain:At 34 d,brain atrophy rate was the highest in HIBD+ZnPP group [(34.07± 6.75) ％],and then in HIBD group [(29.73± 6.53) ％] and HIBD+ Hemin group [(18.33±4.52)％],which were all higher than that in the sham operated group [(1.55±1.32)％](all P＜0.01).HE staining showed that the hippocampal stratum pgramidale was getting thinner and a large number of neurons was lost in HIBD and HIBD+ ZnPP group,but only a small amout of neurons was lost in HIBD+ Hemin group.Conclusions Increased expression of CYGB in HIBD brain could mitigate the short term and long term pathological injury,and protect the long-term study memory function of the hippocampus.

Objective To observe the intervention effect of Wuxing-Jiangu exercise for different syndrome types of elderly patients with chronic low back pain.Methods A total of 199 patients who met the criteria of chronic low back pain (CLBP) were divided into a Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group (86 cases), a control group (85 cases) and a health education group (28 cases). On the basis of health education, theWuxing-Jiangu exercise group was given Wuxing-Jiangu exercise; the control group was treated with the warm type frequency therapeutic instrument; health education group was only given health education guide. The changes of the score of CLBP patients before and after treatment with different syndrome types were observed.Results After 3 months of treatment, the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group, the control group and the health education group had significant differences (H were12.554, 8.014, respectively;all P<0.01); After 3 months of treatment, the score of kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome in the Wuxing-Jiangu exercise group reduced than before the treatment (Z were -5.975,-5.025, respectively)and 1 month after the treatment(Z were -5.976,-5.026, respectively) (all P<0.01).Conclusion Wuxing-Jiangu exercise can reduce the score of the kidney deficiency syndrome and spleen deficiency syndrome and improve clinical syndrome.

OBJECTIVETo investigate clinical curative effects of gluteal muscle contracture release combined with insertion of gluteus maximus tendo-chilles lengthening with Z-shaped in treating severe gluteal muscles contracture.

METHODSFrom 2006 May to 2011 May, 20 patients (35 sides) with severe gluteal muscle contracture were collected, including 12 males and 8 females, aged from 8 to 34 years old with an average of 13 years old; the courses of disease ranged from 3 to 21 years. All patients manifested abnormal gait at different degree, knees close together cannot squat,positive syndrome of Ober, positive test of alice leg. Gluteus contracture fascia release were performed firstly in operation, then insertion of tendo-chilles lengthening with Z-shaped were carried out. Preoperative and postoperative gait, and knee flexion hip extensor squat test, cross leg test, adduction and internal rotary activity of hip joint, stretch strength and motor ability after hip abduction were observed and compared.

RESULTSTwenty patients were followed up for 1 to 5 years. Gluteus maximus were released thoroughly, and snapping hip was disappeared, Ober syndrome were negative. There was significant differences in knee flexion hip extensor squat test, adduction and internal rotary activity of hip joint,stretch before and after operation (P<0.01). Gluteus muscle strength was protected,stretch strength and motor ability of hip joint were recovered well. Among them,31 cases got excellent results and 4 good.

CONCLUSIONFor severe gluteal muscles contracture,insertion of gluteus maximus tendo-chilles lengthening with Z-shaped performed after gluteus contracture fascia release could release gluteal muscle contracture to the greatest extent and obtain postoperative curative effect without resection of normal hip muscle fibers and destroy joint capsule.

Objective:To determine taurocholic acid (TCA) and taurodeoxycholic acid (TDCA) in artificial snake gall. Methods: HPLC was used in the quantitative analysis with spherisorb C 18 column, methyl alcohol 0.02 mol/L phosphric buffer (60∶40) as a mobile phase and detection wavelength at 210nm. Results: The linear range of TCA was from 0.28672 mg/mL to 2.8672 mg/mL, and the linear range of TDCA was from 0.26842 mg/mL to 2.6842 mg/mL. The average recoveries were 97.65% for TCA and 95.81% for TDCA. RSD were 0.79% and 3.27%, respectively. Conclusion: This method is simple and accurate.

OBJECTIVE: To provide references for the improvement of drug recall system in China.METHODS: The problems existing in the drug recall system in China were analyzed through a comparison of the drug recall system between China and Australia.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: China should draw useful experiences from Australia to improve its drug recall system by perfecting the legal system and tracking measures,determining stratified drugs and the responsibilities of government etc.

Objective:The current study investigated the effects of nesfatin-1 in the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) on gastric motility and the regulation of the lateral hypothalamic area (LHA).Methods:The projection of nerve ?ber and expression of nesfatin-1 were observed by retrograde tracing and fluo-immunohistochemistry staining;The nuclei microinjection and nuclei electrical stimulation,extracellular discharges of single unit neuron were used to observe the effects of nesfatin-1 on the GD neurons;Gastric motility recording in vivo were used to monitor the effects of nesfatin-1 on the amplitude of constriction and frequency of gastric motility in conscious rats.Results:Nesfatin-1 inhibited the majority of the GD-E neurons(1.97± 0.12 Hz vs.1.15± 0.07 Hz) and excited GD-I neurons (1.74± 0.10 Hz vs.3.04± 0.18 Hz) in the PVN,which were weakened by oxytocin receptor antagonist H4928 (GD-E:1.38± 0.08 Hz,P＜0.05 vs.nesfatin-1;GD-I:2.49± 0.15 Hz,P＜0.05 vs.nesfatin-1).Gastric motility experiments showed that administration ofnesfatin-1 in the PVN decreased gastric motility.Retrograde tracing and immunofluorescent staining showed that nucleobindin-2/nesfatin-1 and fluorogold double-labeled neurons were observed in the LHA.Electrical LHA stimulation excited the firing rate of GD-responsive neurons (GD-E:2.06± 0.12 Hz vs.4.23± 0.21 Hz,GD-I:1.61± 0.09 Hz vs.4.83± 0.25 Hz) in the PVN.Pre-administration of an antinucleobindin-2/nesfatin-1 antibody in the PVN strengthened gastric motility,decreased GD-E neurons (1.74± 0.10 Hz vs.3.04± 0.18 Hz) and excited the discharging of the GD-I neurons(4.15± 0.18 Hz vs.4.83± 0.25) induced by electrical stimulation of the LHA.Conclusion:Nesfatin-1 in the PVN could serve as an inhibitory factor to inhibit gastric motility,which might be regulated by the LHA.

Objective To investigate the expression and change of cytoglobin(Cygb)gene on hypoxicischemic brain damage(HIBD).Methods Fifty SD rats of 7days old were divided into four study groups and one control group.The brain tissues were taken at 4hours,12hours,24hours and 48hours after the onset of HIBD.Cygb mRNA was determined by the reverse transcription PCR.One-way method of GraphPad Prism was used for statistics.Results The fragment length of PCR products was identical with experimental design.The expression level of Cygb gene increased at 4h after ischemia,and peaked at 24h.48h after HIBD,the Cygb gene level began to decrease.Conclusion The expression of Cygb in brain tissue increased rapidly after HIBD of newborn rats,suggesting that Cygb may have important function in the protection process of HIBD.
