Retinal degeneration diseases is an irreversible neurodegenerative impairment.Nowadays,it has become one of the most common causes of blindness,but medical treatments showed little efficiency on these diseases.Recently,some researchers found that a series of transcription factors being capable of reprogramming DNA can reconstruct and induce somatic cells into pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).The iPSCs not only have great potential of self-renew and differentiation,but also can avoid some critical issues such as ethical restrictions and immune suppression by using embryonic stem cells.Retinal stem cell therapy can also benefit from the ease of surgical access and observation of transplanted cells directly through the clear ocular media.These advantages make it possible for the iPSCs therapy to be a new approach to managing the retinal degenerative diseases in the future.The research history,feature and advantage,induce and directional differentiation of iPSCs were reviewed.

AIM: To investigate the clinical effects on the deep lamellar keratoplasty for herpes simplex keratitis.
METHODS: Deep lamellar keratoplasty was performed on 105 cases with herpes simplex viral keratitis. All of these patients were followed-up for 12-36mo, the corneal graft transparency, visual acuity and viral keratitis recurrence were observed.
RESULTS:Among 24 patients after stripping the corneal stroma which was close to the Descemet's membrane, Central area of 81 cases were about 6mmí6mm of to Descemet's membrane. One hundred and one cases of planting beds were transparent. Visual acuity were improved in varying degrees, best corrected visual acuity was greater than 0. 5 in 67 cases, 0. 3-0. 5 in 35 cases, less than 0. 3 in 3 cases. There was no recurrence of viral keratitis and rejection cases during the observation period.
CONCLUSION: Deep lamellar keratoplasty is an effective technique in the treatment of viral keratitis. It is therefore should be an early surgical treatment for frequent episodes of viral keratitis cases.

Objective To assess the safety and effectiveness of prenatal multiple and single course glucocorticoids treatment on preterm birth infants. Method Seven researches on the treatment of preterm birth infants with glucocorticids were meta analyzed. Results Multiple courses of glucocorticoids treatment before labor may lower the incidence of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) of preterm babies (OR=0.51,95% CI 0.49~0.54),and so did the respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), (OR=0.72,95% CI 0.49~1.07).But it may increase the septicemia of preterm infants (OR=1.62, 95%CI 1.07~2.44),and could not decrease the morbidity and mortality of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH)(OR=0.65, 95% CI 0.37~1.15)? necrosis enterocolonitis (NEC)(OR=1.30, 95% CI 0.79~2.12)and chronic lung disease (CLD)(OR=0.94,95%IC 0.59~1.49)? It cound not decrease the use of pulmonary surfactant after the birth of preterm infants. (OR=0.86,95% CI 0.48~1.55). Conclusions It suggests that multiple courses treatment with glucocorticoids is not safer and more effective than single course before labor.
