AIM: To assess the relationship between ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) infection, vertical transmission pathway and diseases in neonates.METHODS: Specimens of amniotic fluid and cervical swabs from 30 women at delivery, and nasopharynx and urinary mouth secretions from 161 neonates were cultured for UU. RESULTS: The UU positive rate of 30 women at delivery and 8 neonates from puerperas with UU infection were 26.67% and 62.7%, respectively. The detective rate of UU in normal neonates (26 of 130, 20%) was significantly lower than that in sick neonates (14 of 31, 46%) ( P

Abstract: Objective To analyze the genetic evolution and molecular characteristics of the H5N6 avian influenza virus A/Changsha/1/2022(H5N6) in a human infection case in Changsha City, providing insights for the prevention and control of H5N6 avian influenza transmission to humans. Methods The sample underwent whole-genome sequencing on a third-generation sequencing platform. Reference sequences were downloaded from the NCBI and GISAID databases for comparison. The phylogenetic tree was constructed and key amino acid mutation sites were analyzed using MEGA7 software. Results The sequence analysis results revealed that the strain studied belongs to the H5 subtype Clade 2.3.4.4b branch. The PB1 gene shared 99.69% homology with the H5N6 virus A/duck/Hunan/S40199/2021(H5N6) from Hunan Province; PB2 had 98.58% homology with A/Whooper swan/Sanmenxia/Y36/2020(H5N8); and other sequences showed high homology with the strain A/Guangdong/1/2021(H5N6) discovered in Guangzhou in 2021. These results indicate that an infection with a recombinant H5N6 subtype avian influenza virus caused the case. The amino acid composition of the cleavage site was RERRRKR↓GLF, consistent with high-pathogenicity avian influenza characteristics. The HA sequence showed no mutations at the Q226L and G228S sites, indicating the preservation of characteristics binding to avian receptors. However, mutations at the S127P, S137A, T160A, T192R, and A267T sites increased the virus's affinity for humans. A deletion found in positions 59-70 of the NA protein stalk implies enhanced viral virulence in mammals. Mutations were noted in the internal genes; S622G in PB1, K389R and V598T in PB2, N409S in PA, N30D and T215A in M1, and P42S in NS1, which may enhance the virulence of avian influenza virus in infecting mice. Conclusions The H5N6 virus strain detected in a human case in Changsha City in this study is highly pathogenic, prone to bind to avian receptors, but numerous mutations at key amino acid sites facilitate infection in humans. Continuous monitoring and research on H5N6 avian influenza virus should be strengthened

Objective To evaluate the effects of hydroxyapatite (HA) extensively-coated prosthesis on elderly patients undergoing hip arthroplasty. Methods From February 1997 to May 1999,96 patients Were treated with hydroxyapatite (HA) coated prosthesis and followed up for their hip arthroplasty.Their results were studied clinically and roentgengraphically to evaluate chiefly their Harris scores, complications and thigh pain. The survival of prosthesis was evaluated according to Kaplan-Meier methods. Results The 60 cases were followed up for eight years on average(range, sevon to nine years).Their mean Harris scores were improved from 42 preoperatively to 90 postoperatively.Fifty-eihgt cases felt no pain at their hip,but two did at their thigh. No radiolucent lines were observed. All the prostheses achieved bony stabilization and remolding. Conclusions HA coated prosthesis can achieve fine fixation, because it helps bone conduction, resists axial force and torsion, and reduces operative risks.

Objective To study the role of Mycoplasma genitalium(Mg)infection in chronic non- bacterial prostatitis. Methods Culture and two PCR systems were performed on prostatic secretion specimens from 487 patients with chronic non-bacterial prostatitis and 75 health men in Changchun regions. Results positive rate of Mg in the prostatic secretion from the 487 patients was 7.39% (36/487);In the controls, the positive rate of Mg was 1.33%(1/75).The differences between the two groups were statistically significant (X~2=3.88,P

Journal of Kunming Medical University 2016;37(10):78-80
Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of computer aided cognitive rehabilitation system for the treatment of cognitive impairment after stroke. Methods The data of 70 cases of cognitive impairment after stroke patients were randomly selected from November 2011-November 2012 in our hospital, according to the treatment method, patients were randomly divided into research group (n=35) and control group (n=35).The control group patients were given cognitive training, sports and drugs and other conventional treatment. On the basis of conventional treatment, the research group patients were given computer aided cognitive rehabilitation system treatment. Then we observed and compared the clinical curative effect of two groups of patients after treatment. Results The cognitive rating scale (LOTCA) scores in patients in the research group was better than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05) The simple mental state examination (MMSE) score of patients in the research group was better than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion Computer assisted cognitive rehabilitation system for patients with cognitive impairment after stroke has significant curative effect, and should be popularized and widely used in clinical treatment.
