Objective To investigate the resting-state functional connectivity of the two hemispheres between multiple system atrophy (Parkinsonian type,MSA-P) and Parkinson's disease (PD).Methods A total of 25 MSA-P,29 PD patients and 29 well-matched healthy controls recruited in the Nanjing Brain Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from June 2013 to December 2015 were scanned with resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging for voxel mirrored homotopic correlation (VMHC) analysis. The Mini Mental State Examination,Montreal Cognitive Assessment,Frontal Assessment Battery and Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale-Ⅲ (UPDRS-Ⅲ) were used to assess the clinical symptom. Then the relationship between the change of VMHC values and severity of clinical symptoms was investigated. Results Compared with healthy controls,MSA-P and PD patients both showed decreased VMHC in bilateral cerebellum posterior lobe, precuneus gyrus, middle temporal gyrus, and postcentral gyrus.Compared with PD or healthy controls,MSA-P patients exhibited lower VMHC in bilateral putamen.Significant negative correlation between VMHC values of putamen and UPDRS-Ⅲ scores was found in MSAP patients (r =-0.607,P =0.001).Conclusion These functional changes suggest that the abnormal interhemispheric synchrony probably plays an important role in pathophysiology of both MSA-P and PD,and abnormal VMHC values in putamen of MSA-P may be helpful in differentiating MSA-P from PD.

Objective To determine a possible role for Clara cell secretary protein(CCSP)during acute RSV infection.Method CCSP-deficient [CCSP (-/-)]and wild-type (WT) mice were intratracheally infected with RSV and the lung inflammatory response to RSV infection were assessed. Results RSV-F gene expression increased in the lungs of CCSP (-/-) mice compared to WT mice following RSV infection, consistent with increased viral persistence. Lung inflammation was significantly worsened in CCSP (-/-) mice compared to WT mice after RSV infection. Th2 cytokines and neutrophil chemokines increased in the lungs of CCSP (-/-) mice following RSV infection. Conclusion These findings suggest that lack of CCSP may promote the inflammatory and Th2 immune response to RSV infection.

OBJECTIVETo observe therapeutic effect of tongue acupuncture on stroke.
METHODSOne hundred and ninety cases were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 95 cases in each group. The patients in the observation group were treated by tongue acupuncture combined with body acupuncture, and the control group by simple body acupuncture.
RESULTSThe total effective rate was 95.8% in the observation group and 80.0% in the control group, the observation group being significantly better than the control group.
CONCLUSIONTongue acupuncture has a better therapeutic effect on stroke.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the growth and development of brain derived neurophic factor(BDNF)-positive neurons in the frontal lobe of human fetus.
METHODSThe expression of the BDNF-positive neurons in the frontal lobe of human fetus in the 2(nd),3(rd),and 4(th) month of gestation were observed with the streptavidin-biotin-complex/immunoperoxidase(SABC)method.
RESULTSBy the second month of gestation,BDNF-positive neurons were seen in the subventricular layer of the frontal lobe of cerebellum.By the third month of gestation,BDNF-positive neurons in the central layer were in various shapes, with big nucleus, less cytoplasm, and small processes.By the fourth month of gestation,BDNF-positive neurons in the central layer grew larger in size, cytoplasm increased, the BDNF-positive expression was enhanced with deeper dyeing, and the nerve fibers and particles were distributed between neurons;also, the BDNF-positive neurons were seen in the marginal layer of the frontal lobe of cerebrum.
CONCLUSIONBDNF-positive neurons may participate in the early development of the frontal lobe of cerebrum of human fetus.

Chinese Journal of Oncology 2003;25(4):368-371
OBJECTIVETo investigate the relation of heparanase gene and angiogenesis with the progress of gastric carcinoma (GC).
METHODSExpression of heparanase mRNA in 52 GC tissue was detected by in situ hybridization assay. Microvessel density (MVD) was examined by immunohistochemical method. MVD and heparanase mRNA expression were analysed with their relation to histological grade, invasion depth, lymph node metastasis and organ metastasis.
RESULTSMVD was 73.2 +/- 22.8 in 25 (48.1%) tissue with positive heparanase mRNA. It was 44.8 +/- 11.9 in 27 (51.9%) tissues with negative heparanase mRNA, between which the difference was significant (P < 0.001). MVD and heparanase mRNA expression were related with lymph node metastasis and depth of serosal invasion in GC (P < 0.005).
CONCLUSIONHeparanase, being related to angiogenesis in gastric cancer, promotes growth, invasion and metastasis. Heparanase mRNA expression is an important predictor of the biological behavior of human gastric carcinoma.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2016;36(4):577-581
OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of MiR-200b on human retinal endothelial cells (hRECs) cultured in high glucose and explore the mechanism.
METHODShRECs cultured in high glucose or in normal media were examined for MiR-200b mRNA expression using real-time PCR. The effect of MiR-200b transfection on hREC proliferation in high-glucose culture was evaluated with MTT assay, and real-time PCR and Western blotting were performed to determine vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and transforming growth factor β1 (TGFβ1) expression in the transfected cells.
RESULTSThe cells in high-glucose culture showed significantly decreased MiR-200b expression and active proliferation. Compared with those in normal control cells, VEGF and TGFβ1 mRNA and protein expressions increased markedly in cells cultured in high glucose (P<0.05). MiR-200b transfection of the cells caused significantly increased cellular expression of MiR-200b but decreased expression levels of VEGF and TGFβ1 mRNA and protein, and suppressed hREC proliferation in high glucose culture (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONMiR-200b can regulate REC growth and proliferation by changing VEGF and TGFβ1 expressions and thus play a role in the pathogenesis and progression of diabetic retinopathy.
