Objective To investigate the ultrasound characteristics of prenatal fetus otocephaly . Methods Three prenatal fetus with otocephaly were examined with two -and three-dimensional ultrasoundand examined results were compared with the those of induced labor or autopsy ,and ultrasound characteristicsof prenatal fetus were analyzed and summarized .Results The ultrasound performance of three prenatal fetuswith otocephaly and the examination of the appearance after induced labor showed :(1) The most intuitiveinitial sonographic performance of otocephaly was manifested by the absence of stomach bubble andoverabundance of amniotic fluid.Among three fetus, one fetus had overabundance of amniotic fluid at the midstageof pregnancy, one fetus had normal amniotic fluid at the mid-stage of pregnancy and one fetus hadextremely high amount of amniotic fluid and absence of stomach bubble at late stage of pregnancy .(2) Allthree fetus showed agnathy and synotia (shifts of both ears to the midline) and microstomia deformity.(3) All three fetus had associated complications with deformity in other systems including two cases of patients withcleft lip and palat, both were the fracture unilateral cleft lip derived from small mouth .One fetus withdysmelia and one fetus with complicated cardiovascular deformity and situs inversus and .(4) The results ofexamination after induced labor or autopsy were consistent with those of the prenatal ultrasound examination . Conclusions Prenatal ultrasound examination is an effective and feasible means for the diagnoses ofotocephaly. When the symptoms of “absence of stomach bubble and extremely high amount of amniotic fluid ”occurred, the fetal ear and submaxilla should be examined to confirm stand -alone otocephaly prenatally.

Microbiology 2008;0(07):-
PcoI-PcoR is a quorum-sensing (QS) system influencing the biofilm formation and rhizosphere colonization in Pseudomonas fluorescens 2P24. The expression of the pcoI, a N-acyl-homoserne lactone (AHL) biosynthase gene, is under the regulation of a number of chromosomal factors, such as the GacS-GacA two-component system. In this paper, we investigated the upstream regulators that influence the transcription of pcoI gene using a chromosomal pcoI-lacZ fusion reporter strain PM203. Cosmids containing genomic DNA of the wild-type strain 2P24 were introduced into the reporter strain PM203 (gacA—, pcoI-lacZ) to screen positive transcriptional regulators of pcoI gene. One of them named pP32-24, which contained a 5-kb Pst I functional fragment was selected. Further analysis identified that the pcoI was the gene responsible for the increase of the pcoI-lacZ expression. The expression of pcoI-lacZ reporter was alsoimproved in both PM101 (pcoI-lacZ) and its gacAmutant PM203 after addition of exogenous AHL, indicating that the expression of pcoI is positively regulated by AHL (autoinduction) in strain 2P24. In addition, deletion mutagenesis and complementation experiments demonstrated that the transcriptional regulator PcoR positively controlled the expression of pcoI and the formation of biofilm. These results suggest that, in strain 2P24, the expression of PcoI-PcoR QS system is auto-inducted, and the transcriptional factor PcoR is involved in the regulation of pcoI transcription and the biofilm formation.

Aim To probe the effect of bambuterol on experimental asthma and its pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic chracteristics,as well as its mechanism. Methods Experimental asthma model on guinea pigs was induced by histamine and ovalbumin in vivo and their trachea flake and pulmonary bar were emptied to the research in vitro respectively. Results Bambuterol inhibited asthma induced by histamine and ovalbumin in guinea pigs in a dose-dependent manner. Bambuterol gave no relaxation to all trachea flake, but the intragastric gavage(ig) of plasma of the bambuterol-treated guinea pigs relaxed trachea flake and pulmonary bar,and the effect on pulmonary bar was stronger than that on trachea flake. The peak value appeared about 4 h after administration, and the action continued for more than 24 h. Conclusion Bambuterol as pro-drug of terbutaline metabolized in body has a mild and permanent effect on the model of experimental asthma in guinea pigs.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of different pressure oxygen pre-breathing in preventing decompression sickness of rats.
METHODSForty male SD rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: decompression sickness (DCS) group and three oxygen pre-breathing groups with 1 ATA, 2 ATA and 3 ATA pressure respectively. The rats of DCS group were placed in the hyperbaric chamber and the chamber was compressed evenly within 3 minutes to depths of 7 absolute atmosphere(ATA) and held at the designated depth for 60 min, then decompressed (3 min) at constant speed to the surface pressure. After that, the rats were taken out for further detection. While the rats of oxygen pretreatment groups pre-breathed different pressure oxygen for 20 min before entering into chamber. The mortality and behavioral of rats were observed with 30 min post decompression. The dry/wet ratio of the lung, protein levels in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF), and the inflammatory cytokine tumor necrosis factor (TNF-alpha) expression were also tested.
RESULTSCompared with that of the DCS group, the mortality and morbidity of oxygen pre-breathe groups didn't change obviously. But the total BALF protein level and the inflammatory cytokine TNF-alpha expression of 1 ATA oxygen pre-breathe group were obviously decreased, while the dry/wet ratio of lung as obviously increased instead (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAlthough preoxygenation can' t obviously change the mortality and mobidity of rats, normal pressure oxygen pre-breathing can mitigate the protein infiltration in BALF and the expression of inflammatory cytokine in lung tissue.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the precise locations of the blood vessels and nerves surrounding the seminal vesicles (SV) in men and provide some anatomical evidence for SV-related minimally invasive surgery.
METHODSWe observed the courses and distribution of the blood vessels and nerves surrounding SVs and obtained the data for positioning the SV neuroplexes in 20 male pelvises.
RESULTSOne branch of the neuroplexes was distributed to the SVs bilaterally with the neurovascular bundles, (2.85 ± 0.18) cm from the median sulcus of the prostate (MSP), while another branch ran through the Denonvillier fascia behind the SV, (0.81 ± 0.06) cm from the MSP. The arterial SVs (ASV) originated from the inferior vesical artery and fell into 4 types, 55% going directly to the SVs as one branch, 15% running between the SV and the ampulla of the deferent duct as another branch, 25% downward as 2 branches to the SV and between the SV and the ampulla of the deferent duct respectively, and 5% as the other ASVs. The shortest distance from the ASV through the prostatic neuroplexus to the posterior SV was (1.08 ± 0.09) cm.
CONCLUSIONIn SV resection, neuroplexus injury can be reduced with a bilateral distance of < 2.85 cm and a posterior distance of < 0.81 cm from the MSP, and so can bleeding by vascular ligation between the SV and the ampulla of the deferent duct.

Objective To assess the value of pulmonary artery CT obstruction index for the evaluation of the severity of pulmonary embolism (PE),and to investigate the relation between pulmonary artery CT obstruction index and D-dimer levels. Methods 125 patients were diagnosed as PE by computed tomographic pulmonary angiography (CTPA)and D-dimer.Patients were separated into high-risk group and non-high risk group.CT obstruction index,D-dimer levels, diameter of the pulmonary artery were compared between two groups. Spearman’s rank correlation coefficients were used to assess the correlation between the CT obstruction index and the D-dimer levels, diameter of the pulmonary artery. Results CT congestion index of high-risk PE group was obviously higher than that of the non-high risk group (P=0.000).The diameter of pulmonary artery in high-risk PE group was obviously greater than that of the non-high risk group, the difference was statistically significant (P=0.000).No statistically significant difference was found in D-dimer levels between the two groups (P=0.103).There was no correction with CT congestion index and D-dimer levels(P=0.71).Conclusion The D-dimer levels of serum was a predictor of pulmonary embolism, cannot evaluate the severity of PE.CT obstruction index can reflect the severity of PE in some extent as an indicator of PE,there was no correlation with CT obstruction index and D-dimer levels.

AIM:To study the differentiation of rat marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) into myoid cells in vitro . METHODS:The MSCs of SD rat were cultured?passaged?induced and differentiated in vitro used by routine culture technique, and evaluated by FACScan flow cytometer, detected by immunohistochemistry and analyzed by Hitachi H-600 transmission electron microscope(TEM). RESULTS:FACScan shows that cells expressed the antigens of CD29 and CD44, not those of CD11b and CD45; cells show positive response of staining with desmin and myoglobin after processing by two compounds of 5-azacytidine and amphotericin B. There were stripform zone of myofilament without any organells beside the edge of membrane in myoid cell of induction and differentiation checked by TEM. CONCLUSION: The passaged cells were MSCs and the MSCs may have specific gene structures that can differentiate into myoid cells. The demethylation or hypomethylation may conduct by compounds of 5-azacytidine and amphotericin B, which could be involved in activating phenotype-specific genes to differentiate MSCs into myoid cells. There are good outlook on clinical treatment of illness of myatrophy using by MSCs.
