ObjectiveTo evaluate the efficacy of the high-flux dialysis on maintaining hemodialysis patients. Methods60 hemodialysis patients were randomly divided into the ordinary PMMA membrane dialyzer group, the ordinary polysulfone membrane dialyzer group and the high-flux dialyzer group with 20 patients in each group. Before and after the single hemodialysis, the removing effect of serum β2- microglobulin (β2-MG)in the 3 kinds of dialyzer, and cholesterol, triglyceride, low density lipoprotein changes after 6 months were compared. ResultsThe ordinary PMMA membrane dialyzer group and high-flux dialyzer group can reduce the concentration of β2-MG,while the high-flux dialyzer group showed more significant effect. On the aspect of lipid metabolism,in the high-flux dialyzer group, serum total cholesterol, triglycerides and LDL levels decreased significantly, while the ordinary dialysis group had no significant change. ConclusionsThe high-flux dialysis can improve the dialysis efficiency, life quality and reduce the complications of patients.

Peking University Shenzhen Hospital launched a reform to outsource its logistic support service to overcome the setbacks of overstaffing, poor service and high costs with the existing logistic departments since its opening.Practice of a decade has raised the quality of its logistic support system and lowered service costs.Furthermore, the reform has optimized the hospital's human resource structure, and improved performance of the hospital staff, paving the way for better social benefits of the hospital.

Objective To investigate costimulatory pathway of breast cancer patients, we examined peripheral CD28 positive T lymphocytes and B7 molecules expression on the primary breast cancer cells in patients with breast cancer. MethodsFlow cytometry was used to analyze CD28 and B7 molecules expressed on T lymphocytes and primary breast cancer cells respectively. Results CD28 positive T lymphocytes in breast cancer patients was lower than that in control group (t=2.879,P

Objective: To confirm the effectiveness of fluoxetine in treatment of depression associated with apparent life events Method: Sixty-two depressive patients who had a total score of the Life Event Scale of more than 30 were treated with fluoxetine for 6 weeks, diazepam was added if necessary CGI, HAMD and HAMA were used to assess the result Result: At the endpoint, the total score of HAMD decreased from 23?4 at baseline to 10?6, the total score of HAMA was also decreased significantly (23?5 to 10?6) At the meantime, the HAMD sleep factor and CGI severity score were also decreased significantly All above measurements showed improvement at the first week of treatment The adverse effects were mild, with lose of appetite, dry mouth and nausea as the most frequently seen, which had no influence on treatment process Conclusion: Fluoxetine plus diazepam is effective in depressive patients with apparent life events with quick response and mild adverse effects
8.Recognition of anti-VEGF therapy base on the mechanism of VEGF in wet age-related macular degeneration
Chinese Journal of Experimental Ophthalmology 2012;30(4):289-292
Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of visual impairment among older population worldwide, and wet AMD is more threatened to vision because of the choroidal neovascularization. Some physical therapies are thought to destroy the lesions but can not improve the visual acuity.Therefore,anti-VEGF drug therapy is becoming a new approach to the management of wet AMD.Vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) is thought to play an important role in the complicated pathogenesis, which can be addressed by disease reduction strategies.Among the anti-VEGF drug therapies,anti-VEGF monoclonal antibodies are proved to maintain and improve visual acuity.Other therapies have been or now being developed for the treatment of neovascular AMD with the goal of inhibiting VEGF.These inhibitors include VEGF receptor decoy aflibercept, small interfering RNA-based therapies (bevasiranib) and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (vatalanib),which could offer the potential for further advances. To completely realize the active mechanism of VEGF in wet AMD is helpful for the rational use of anti-VEGF drugs.

The effects of continuous subcutaneous insulin injection (CSII, n=306) and multiple subcutaneous insulin injection (MSII, n=310)on hyperglycemia in patients with diabetes mellitus were compared. The results suggest that the effect of CSII is more prompt and efficient with lower incidence of hypoglycemia as compared with MSII.

Objective To compare the accuracy of quantitative CT(QCT), perfusion scintigraphy and anatomical segmentation in predicting postoperative lung function in lung cancer patients. Methods Pulmonary functional tests, quantitative CT scan and perfusion seintigraphy in 12 cases before operation were performed. Forced vital capacity (FVC), the first second forced expiratory volume (FEV1.0) and diffusing capacity of carbon monoxide (DLco) were obtained from preoperative pulmonary functional tests. According to the corresponding formula for QCT, perfusion sintigraphy and anatomical segmentation method, the values of FVC, FEV1.0 and DLco were predicted. The correlation between the predicted values and postoperative values of FVC, FEV1.0 and DLco were assessed. The paired-t test,Pearson correlation test and Bland-Altman analysis were used for the statistics. Results The predicted values of QCT, perfusion sintigraphy and anatomical segmentation method were: FVC [(3.05±0.82), (2.98±0.75) and (2.98±0.86) L,respectively] , FEV1.0[(2.20±0.81), (2.17±0.78) and (2.16±0.84) L, respectively], DLco (FVC: r=0.87, 0.80 and 0.86; FEV1.0:r =0.93, 0.91 and 0.93; DLco:r =0.93, 0.95 and 0.93,respectively,P < 0.01). Conclusion QCT, perfusion sintigraphy and anatomical segmentation method can be used in predicting postoperative lung function. The predicted values are in concordance with the postoperative ones.
