Objective To explore the polysomnography(PSG) characteristice of obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OS-AHS) and primary snoring(PS) in children and clinical value of PSG in children with sleep disorders. Methods We analyzed 74 children with OSAHS and 62 with PS, every patient being monitored with PSG for 7 hours at night for 16 parameters, including apnea hypopnea index(AHI), periodic leg movement index(PLMI),and the lowest oxygen saturation(LSaQ2) etc. The parameters of the 2 groups were comparaed. Results Comparaed with PS group, there was statistically significant difference in parameters such as PLMI, AHI,LSaQ2,the moderate oxygen saturation(MSaO2).AHI in non- rapid eye movement (NREM)(P

Objective: To investigate the effects of acupuncture and combined acupuncture and medicine on the quality of life and the genital endocrine level in postmenopausal women. Methods:Forty-seven patients were randomly assigned to acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine groups,23 cases in the acupuncture group and 24 cases in the acupuncture plus medicine group. The observed course of treatment was 3 months. A Chinese concise SF-36 questionnaire was used to evaluate the quality of life in the different groups of patients before and after treatment.Meanwhile, radioimmunoassay was used to observe the differences in serum genital hormones:follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estradiol (E2) contents between pretreatment and posttreatment in both groups. Results: After treatment, there was a significant difference in quality of life between the two groups and it was better in the acupuncture plus medicine group than in the acupuncture group(P＜ 0.01). E2 content increased more markedly in the acupuncture plus medicine group than in the acupuncture group(P＜ 0.05). There were no significant differences in FSH and LH contents between the two groups (P ＞ 0. 05). Conclusion: Both acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine can improve the quality of life and increase obviously low E2 content in postmenopausal women. Acupuncture plus medicine raises the patients' quality of life and E2 content more markedly than acupuncture. It is suggested that both acupuncture and acupuncture plus medicine can improve the symptoms, signs, and physical and mental health, raise the quality of life and ameliorate genital-endocrine environment in postmenopausal women, but a combination of acupuncture and medicine has a better effect.

The dried cane of Kadsura interior (Kadsurae Caulis) is recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2010 as Dian Jixueteng for the treatment of rheumatism,irregular menstruation,and deficiency of Qi and blood.In this paper,morphological characteristics,chemical constituents,and pharmacological activities in the cane of K.interior were summarized.Moreover,some suggestions about application and quality control of Kadsurae Caulis were proposed in order to provide a theoretical basis for further scientific use.

OBJECTIVETo compare the differences between computer aided identification and ultra-thin layer slicing in measuring the lesions of femoral head necrosis,and to confirm the accuracy and practicability of computer aided method.

METHODSFrom June 2012 to December 2013, the X-ray and MRI of 24 patients (24 hips on unilateral) were reviewed, who had avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFA) at late stage (stage III and IV) according to the ARCO international staging system. There were 15 males and 9 females, with an average age of (65.1 ± 8.8) years old, ranged 33 to 74 years old. Based on the software system with seeds point identification, the ragional adaptive search method with computer aid was used to calculate the volume of necrotic lesion in femoral on MRI. Then the pathological slices of those intraoperative femoral heads were made to measure the gross volume of necrotic lesion in femoral head,and the values were compared with the data in the computer.

RESULTSFor 24 hips, by the calculation of computer, the necrotic volume was (20.00 ± 3.04) cm (ranged, 18.72 to 21.29 cm³). Under the pathological section, the necrotic volume of the femoral head was (19.89 ± 3.17) cm³ (ranged, 18.55 to 21.23 cm³). In computer and pathology two kinds of measurement, the two entire femoral head volume had no significant difference using these two measurements (t = -1.227, P = 0.232).

CONCLUSIONComputer aided identification for necrotic area of femoral head adaptive can demonstrate the morphology of femoral head necrosis accurately and reliably, which will help surgeon better understand the morphology and orientation in femoral head.

Objective To assess the effectiveness of puncturing Sifeng points (EX-UE10) and pricking Back-Shu points in treating dyspepsia due to chemotherapy for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Method Sixty patients were randomized into an observation group (30 cases) and a control group (30 cases). The observation group was intervened by puncturing Sifeng points and pricking Back-Shu points, once a week. The selected Back-Shu points included bilateral Pishu (BL20), Weishu (BL21) and Geshu (BL17). The control group was treated by promoting gastrointestinal motility (itopride hydrochloride 50 mg) and supplementing digestive enzymes (compound azintamide tablets). The two groups were observed before and after treatment in terms of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) symptom score, nutritional status score and Karnofsky Performance Score (KPS). The therapeutic efficacies were also assessed. Result The total effective rate was 93.3％ (28/30) in the observation group versus 70.0％ (21/30) in the control group, and the between-group difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The TCM symptom score showed significant improvement in both groups after treatment (P<0.01), and the improvement in the observation group was more significant than that in the control group (P<0.01). After treatment, the score of Patient Generated-Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) decreased significantly in both groups (P<0.01), while there was no significant difference in the score between the two groups (P>0.05). The KPS score increased significantly in both groups after treatment (P<0.01), and there was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05), indicating a more significant improvement of KPS score in the observation group. Conclusion Puncturing Sifeng plus pricking Back-Shu points is effective in treating dyspepsia due to chemotherapy for TNBC. It can improve patient's appetite and quality of life.

OBJECTIVETo observe effects of serum Bushen Huoxue prescription(Chinese characters) on classic Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathways of osteoblasts, and explore mechanism of Bushen Huoxue prescription (Chinese characters) for preventing osteoporosis.

METHODSTwenty health female rats were randomly divided into two groups, including Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters) group and saline group,10 in each group. Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters) group and Saline group were gavaged Bushen Huoxue and saline every day for 1 week. Bushenhuoxue containing serum and saline containing serum were got according to methods of serum preparation of drug-containing. The osteoblasts was cultured with neonatal rat skull according to Enzyme Consumer Law, and was identified by Wright-Giemsa staining (R-J) and alkaline phosphatase staining (ALP). The third generation of osteoblasts was divided into three groups, including saline group, normal group,Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters) group. Each group were added to 15% appropriate medium. ALP activity of osteoblasts and osteoblasts proliferation rate were tested, mineralized nodules were observed, the expression of β-catenin, Runx2, Osx mRNA of osteoblasts were tested by RT-PCR.

RESULTSThere was blue granules in cytoplasm, cell nucleus was flint with 1 to 3 nucleoli showed by R-J staining, morphology of osteoblasts were cultured. ALP staining showed cytoplasm with purple granules, the results showed that the cultured cell was osteoblasts. The content of ALP in Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters)group was (6.272±0.131) ,appreciation rate was (0.81? 0.172), and could significantly improve differentiation and proliferation activity of osteoblasts compared with Saline group (P< 0.01). There were four different size orange nodules, the Maximun nodule was 1.0 x 1.0 cm in Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters) group after Alizarin red staining, the results showed Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters)group could obviously improve mineralization of osteoblasts. The expression of mRNA of β-catenin, Runx2 and Osx in Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters)group were (1.782±0.944), (1.935±0.994) and (1.610±0.811) by RT-PCR,it was significantly increased compared with saline group (P<0.01), but there was no difference between Bushen Huoxue (Chinese characters)group and normal group (P>0.05).

CONCLUSIONBushen Huoxue (Chinese characters)group could obviously promote differentiation, proliferation and mineralization of osteoblasts through activation of Wnt, β-catenin signaling pathway. It suggested that the mechanism of action of Bushen Huoxue (O'f f Il.t)particle clould prevent osteoporosis through the activation of Wnt, β-catenin signaling pathway.

OBJECTIVETo observe application value of multispectral animal living imaging technology in rats model of osteoarthritis.

METHODSFifteen male SD rats weighed (180 +/- 20) g (3 months old) were received intra-articular injection of iodoacetic acid for establishing osteoarthritis. Articular cavity of left knee of rats were injected into 50 microl iodoacetic acid. The same volume of sterile saline was injected into right knee articular cavity as control. X-ray living imaging and bone mineral density were observed at 2 and 4 weeks after establishment of model. After 4 weeks,rats were sacrificed and their bilateral joints were collected and determined histologically based on Collins classification and Kellgren-Lawrence classification.

RESULTSOsteoarthritis model was successfully established, compared with control group, model group showed typical manifestation of osteoarthritis, including irregular cartilage surface,osteophyte formation,joint deformity and cartilage defect,and combined with significant decrease of bone density (P < 0.01), while the decrease was not obvious in proximal tibia (P < 0.05). After 2 weeks, knee joints in model group was classified as Collins grade 1 and Kellgren-Lawrence grade 2,then classified as Collins grade 4 and Kellgren-Lawrence grade 3 after 4 weeks,control group showed smooth articular surface,normal joint space and intact cartilage surface, knee joints was classified as Collins and Kellgren-Lawrence grade 0, and bone density of distal femur and proximal tibia were normal.

CONCLUSIONMultispectral animal living imaging technology could be used in dynamic observation of living imaging and detection of bone density in the animal model of osteoarthritis, and it is significant for evaluation of osteoarthritis model, and its realted tesearch.

Objective:To discuss the etiology, clinical manifestations and renal pathological features of acute interstitial nephritis (AIN) in children.Methods:The etiology, clinical manifestations, pathological characteristics, clinical effects and outcome of the children with AIN diagnosed by renal biopsy from January 2010 to December 2019 in Nanjing Jinling Hospital were analyzed retrospectively. The Kaplan-Meier method was used to evaluate the kidney survival rate. Cox regression model was built to analyze the risk factors for developing end-stage renal disease (ESRD) at baseline in AIN children.Results:A total of 51 children with AIN were diagnosed by renal biopsy, including 36 males and 15 females. The age was (12.94±2.55) years old (2-17 years old). The clinical manifestations of AIN in children were various and lack of specificity. Only 2 cases (3.92%) had triad. All of the 51 children with AIN showed acute renal injury (AKI), accompanied by increased serum creatinine and decreased estimated glomerular filtration rate. The stage of AKI was mainly stageⅢ(33 cases, 64.71%). Infection was the main cause (38 cases, 74.51%) and drug factor was the second cause (27 cases, 52.94%) in children with AIN. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) were the main inducers of drug-induced AIN (18 cases, 35.29%). The interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration or interstitial edema was found in 51 children. The infiltration of inflammatory cells was mainly mononuclear cells (46 cases, 90.20%). After 4 weeks of treatment, 32 cases (62.75%), 11 cases (21.57%) and 8 cases (15.69%) showed complete, partial and no recovery of renal function, respectively. After 12 weeks of treatment, 49 cases (96.08%), 0 cases (0) and 2 cases (3.92%) showed complete, partial and no recovery of renal function, respectively. After an average follow-up of 4.0(2.0-15.0) months, 2 case (3.92%) patients developed ESRD. The cumulative survival rates of ESRD at 1 year and 2 years after renal biopsy both were 100%, and renal survival rates at 5 years and 10 years were 96.55% and 72.41%, respectively. Multivariate Cox regression analysis results showed that N-acetyl-β-D-glucosidase (NAG) enzyme level>17.6 U/g·cr ( HR=15.729, 95% CI 1.045-15.977, P=0.042) and IgM deposition in renal tissue ( HR=7.523, 95% CI 1.142-9.541, P=0.033) were independent risk factors for developing ESRD in AIN children. Conclusions:AKI is the main clinical manifestation of AIN in children. The characteritic of renal pathology in AIN is tubulointerstitial lesions. After active treatment, most of the patients have a good prognosis. Prevention of infection and rational use of drugs are the key to reduce the incidence rate of AIN in children. The N-acetyl-β-D-glucosidase enzyme level>17.6 U/g·cr and IgM deposition in renal tissue are independent risk factors for developing ESRD in AIN children.
