Objective To evaluate the risk factors for the postoperative acute renal failure requiring dialysis (ARF-D)after heart valve surgery. Methods Adult patients (age≤18 years) underwent valve surgery with preoperative serum creatinine <300 μmol/L were included between January 2005 and December 2008. Fifty patients developed ARF-D within 30 days postoperatively (ARF-D group). While random 220 patients had the same operation without ARF-D served as the control group. Univariate analysis and multivariable logistic regression were used to identify risk factors of ARF-D after valve surgery. Results The incidence of ARF-D was 1.78%, and the early mortality rate was 65.5%. Multivariate analysis identified the following independent risk factors of ARF-D: age, previous cardiac surgery, preoperative serum creatinine, NYHA class Ⅳ,and low cardiac output syndrome. ARF-D group had a longer hospital stay and ICU stay than that of the control group ( P <0.001 ). Conclusion Conclusion ARF-D had a higher mortality rate and longer hospital stay following heart valve surgery.Age, previous cardiac surgery, preoperative serum creatinine, NYHA class Ⅳ, and low cardiac output syndrome were the independent risk factors of ARF-D after heart valve surgery.

ObjectiveTo explore the characteristics of phonological encoding of Chinese disyllabic compound words in patients with mild cognition impairment(MCI). Methods10 patients with MCI and 10 normal controls who matched with the age, gender, level of education and handedness performed homophone judgment task. In this task, a picture with a disyllabic compound name was presented, after 100 ms of the presentation there would be a Chinese character below the picture. Subjects were asked to judge whether one of the morpheme in the picture name was homophonic to the character. The reaction time and error ratio were analyzed statistically. ResultsIn the normal controls, the reaction time for the second constituents was shorter than that for the first constituents, while there were no difference between the first and second constituents reaction time in MCI patients. The error ratio of the first and second constituents showed no difference in normal controls, but MCI patients made more error rate for the first constituents. ConclusionAs the heathy elderly, the MCI patients have same pattern in phonological coding of Chinese disyllabic compound words, but much slower in activation speed, indicating the impairment of semantic memory and phonological activation in patients with MCI.

Objective To investigate the effect of nalmefene on sufentanil and propofol anesthesia for abortion and its impact on BIS. Methods One hundred and twenty patients undergoing abortion patients were randomly divided into group A, B, C, and D (n = 30 each). Patients in group A and B received 0.2 μg/kg or 0.3 μg/kg sufentanil, respectively, followed with 1.5 mg/kg propofol for induction of anesthesia post-pretreatment with 0.2 μg/kg nalmefene. Patients in group C and D received induction of anesthesia as patients in group A and B. According to the BIS and fluctuation of hemodynamic , the amount of propofol was adjusted. If necessary, additional single intravenous injection of 0.5 mg/kg propofol. The mean arterial pressure (MAP), heart rate (HR), pulse oxygen saturation (SpO2) and respiratory rate (RR) in patient before injection (T1), the eyelash reflex (T2), dilatation (T3), curettage (T4) and surgery awake (T5) were detected. The additional amount of propofol , operation time , recovery time of surgery , the steward score of orientation recovery after 1min of surgery , body movement reaction , cough , respiratory depression , postoperative visual analog digital score (VAS) 15 min later were also recorded in each group. Results Compared with group A, propofol could reduce the intraoperative body movement reaction rate , with lower postoperative VAS in group B and group D (P <0.05, respectively), with no significant difference between group C and group A (P > 0.05). The rapid recovery, surgery within 1 min orientation recovery were higher in group B, C, D compared with group A (P <0.05). However, orientation recovery score in group D was higher than that in group B (P < 0.05); The respiratory depression and choking were higher in group A and B than those in group C , D (P < 0.05, respectively). Conclusion The doses of 0.2 μg/kg nalmefene can effectively antagonize the respiratory depression , delay recovery and other adverse reactions in painless which induced by sufentanil , and the dose of nalmefene in this study failed to enhance the effect of analgesic and change the BIS values.

Aim To observe effect of DADS on the differentiation of gastric adenocarcinoma cells and acetylation of human gastric cancer tumor cell transplantable histone. Methods Human gastric adenocarcinoma heterotransplantable tumor model was constructed through subcutaneously injecting MGC803 cells to nude mice.Morphologic changes of xenograft tumor cells were observed with optical microscope, the influence of DADS on xenograft tumor cells generationcycle distribution, the expression of p21~(WAF1) protein, histone H3 and and H4 acetylion were analyzed with flow cytometry and Western blot. Results There was obvious growth inhibitory effect of xenograft tumor while abdominal injection dose were 100 and 200 mg?kg~(-1)DADS;cells density and heteromorphism decreased after treated with DADS.Flow cytometry analysis revealed that treating xenograft tumor cells with increasing quantities of DADS increased the percentage of cells in the G_2/M phase. The proportion of xenograft tumor cells in the G_2/M phase after treatment with 100 mg?kg~(-1) and 200 mg?kg~(-1) DADS was 2.22 and 3.37 times of that in NS group.Western blot analysis showed H3 acetylion increase along with G_2/M arrest of xenograft tumor cells by DADS.DADS didn′t influence the expression level of H4 acetylion;the expression of p21~(WAF1) protein in xenograft tumor increased along with the increases in the concentration of DADS.Conclusion DADS cansignificantly inhibit the growth of human gastric carcinoma xenograft in BALB/C nucle mice and induce cell differentiation, which might be related with up-regulation of histone a cetylization and p21~(WAF1) protein level.

OBJECTIVETo study the anticancer action of Zuojinwan in mice transplanted with sarcoma 180 in vivo, and detect the activities of five kinds of tumor markers (TM) including acid phosphotase (ACP), alkaline phosphotase (AKP), creatine kinase (CK), aldolase (ALD) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) in serum compared with Coptis chinensis and Evodia rutaecarpa.
METHODThe transplanted S180 tumor mice model was established, and the mice were divided randomly five groups. The extract of Zuojinwan (850.8 mg kg(-1)), C. chinensis (729.2 mg kg(-1)) and E. rutaecarpa (121.6 mg kg(-1)) were administrated, respectively for 10 d. Then, the changes of body weight, spleen index of mice, the inhibition rates of tumor, and the increase of life span (ILS) were all tested. In addition, the activities of ACP, AKP, CK, ALD and LDH on different test groups were also determined.
RESULTZuojinwan could inhibit the S180 tumor growth significantly with the inhibition rate of 50.54% and the ILS of mice reached to 64.91%. Meanwhile, the activities of ACP (126.72 +/- 11.16) U 100 mL(-1) and AKP (67.27 +/- 13.49) U 100 mL(-1) were increased, and the activities of CK (20.65 +/- 4.28) U mL(-1), ALD (319.13 +/- 53.87) U L(-1) and LDH (1,029.04 +/- 468.56) U L(-1) were decreased significantly by Zuojinwan treated group compared with C. chinensis and E. rutaecarpa treated groups (P<0.01).
CONCLUSIONIn the prescription of Zuojinwan, the enhancement of compatibility of anticancer activity was observed by the interaction of C. chinensis and E. rutaecarpa. The mechanism might be in according with to influence the activities of the five kinds of tumor markers (TM) in mice serum.

Chlorogenic acid displays several important roles in the therapeutic properties of many herbs, such as antioxidant activity, antibacterial, antiviral, scavenging free radicals and exciting central nervous system. Only about one-third of chlorogenic acid was absorbed in its prototype, therefore, its gut metabolites play a more important role in the therapeutic properties of chlorogenic acid. It is necessary to consider not only the bioactivities of chlorogenic acid but also its gut metabolites. This review focuses on the potential activities and mechanisms of chlorogenic acid and its gut metabolites on central nervous system diseases.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2015;(7):994-998,999
Aim To investigate the protective effects of YXETNZ injection on SH-SY5 Y cells damaged by oxygen-glucose deprivation ( OGD ) , and explore its functional mechanisms. Methods After 4 h of OGD, the cells were treated with 25 mg·L-1 drugs for 1 h. Subsequently, cell viabilities were measured by cell counting kit-8 ( CCK-8 kit ) and cell apoptosis was measured by caspase-3/7 assay kit according to manu-facturer’ s instructions. Furthermore, cell death was also detected by ELISA. The levels of phospho-Akt, phospho-PKA,phospho-Bad were evaluated by western blot. Results Oxygen-glucose deprivation significant-ly decreased the cell viabilities of SH-SY5Y cells, while YXETNZ injection significantly increased cell vi-abilities, phospho-Akt, phospho-PKA and phospho-Bad. Furthermore, YXETNZ injection also reduced the activities of caspase-3/7 and cytoplasmic histone-asso-ciated-DNA-fragments contents. Conclusion Our re-searches demonstrat that YXETNZ injection shows good neuroprotective effects on SH-SY5 Y cells after oxygen-glucose deprivation. The underlying mechanisms may be associated with activation of PI3 K/Akt/Bad/caspase-3/7 , cAMP/PKA/Bad/caspase-3/7 signaling pathway.
