Endophytic fungi played an important role in the growth of its host plant. To investigate the mycorrhizal characteristics and the distribution of fungi in the root, an endangered wild plant-Dysosma versipellis was collected and observed by electron microscope. The results showed that the host was closely associated with endophytic fungi. The fungi were mainly distributed in the epidermis and cortex. The aseptate and septate fungi with swollen hyphae were observed in some cell of the cortex. The result provides a reference for the study of mycorrhizal structure of Dysosma genus and the interaction between the fungi and its host.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2015;50(5):613-620
In this paper, the new carbon nanotube modified glassy carbon electrode (F-CNTs/GCE) was prepared to establish a new method for studying the molecular interaction mechanism between baicalin metal complexes (BMC) and bovine serum album (BSA), and the principle of this method was discussed deeply. Under the physiological condition, the thermodynamics and kinetics properties of interaction between BMC and BSA were studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) to inference their molecular effective mechanism. The results show that the presence of F-CNTs can accelerate the electron transfer, and better response signal was showed in the BMC/BMC-BSA system. The detection of interaction of BMC-BSA used new method show that BMC-BSA generates stable thermodynamically non-covalent compounds, and the obtained average binding sites of BMC-BSA were 1.7; the number of electron transfer in BMC/BMC-BSA reaction process was 2, and non electroactive supramolecular compounds of BMC-BSA were generated by this interacting reaction. The relevant research work provides a new way to study the molecular mechanism for the interaction of drugs with protein, and with a certain reference value for discussion on the non covalent interactions.

The specification of decoction pieces and quality uniformity are the important factors to influence the efficacy of clinical medicine. Considering the deficiency of diversity, poor quality uniformity and confusion of decoction pieces specifications, we first propose a new idea of precision decoction pieces (PDP) based on clinical demands and fresh-processed technology. In order to explain the idea, a study case of aconite SUP is provided, including the optimized specification design, processing technology, extraction effects, quality uniformity, and toxic and efficacy variation and so on. The results showed that preparing 5 mm PDP by fresh-cutting is rather simple and practicable, with high efficiency and large yield; then, this technology could significantly decrease the ingredients loss and increase the efficacy components; moreover, it was helpful for achieving the quality uniformity and best extraction effects. This work revealed the quality superiority of PDP, and provided a good strategy and example for the standard of decoction pieces specification and modernization of processing technology.

Chinese Journal of Hepatology 2004;12(12):734-736
OBJECTIVETo explore the pathogenesis of thrombocytopenia in viral hepatitis.
METHODS84 viral hepatitis patients and 20 healthy controls were divided into three groups: Group A: 48 viral hepatitis patients with thrombocytopenia; Group B: 36 viral hepatitis patients with normal platelet count; and Group C: 20 healthy controls. Serum thrombopoietin (TPO) levels were measured in all subjects by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. The levels of PAIg, PAIgG, PAIgA, PAIgM were detected in all subjects by flow cytometry. Spleen size was assessed in all subjects by abdominal color ultrasound B Scan. Bone marrow cells were examined in 74 subjects with bone marrow punctures.
RESULTSSerum thrombopoietin level was lower in group A than in group C and in group B. Serum TPO levels were correlated with platelet counts in the patients with advanced liver diseases. PAIg, PAIgG levels were significantly higher in group A than in group B and in group C. An inverse correlation was found between platelet counts and PAIg levels. An inverse correlation was also observed between platelet counts and PAIgG levels. The incidence of splenomegaly was significantly higher in group A (77.1%) than in group B (47.2%), while group C had no splenomegaly. An inverse correlation between spleen size and platelet count was observed (r = -0.581). There were 4 patients in group A with hypoplasia of bone marrow karyocytes, but there were no such cases in groups B and C.
CONCLUSIONSTPO level decreasing in patients with severe liver function impairments correlates with thrombocytopenia in advanced liver diseases. Autoimmune mechanism mediated by PAIg may play an important role in thrombocytopenia associated with viral hepatitis. Splenomegaly is the influencing factor leading to thrombocytopenia in viral hepatitis. Patients with chronic liver diseases had bone marrow depression, which may be a factor inducing thrombocytopenia in patients with viral hepatitis.

9.Root microstructure and distribution of the endophytic fungi in Taxus chinensis var. mairei.
Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae 2006;28(3):372-374
OBJECTIVETo study the root microstructure and the distribution of the endophytic fungi in Taxus chinensis var. mairei.
METHODSThe roots of Taxus chinensis var. mairei at nature were cut with paraffin, dyed and observed by microscope.
RESULTSThe secondary structure of the roots of Taxus chinensis var. mairei consisted of the periderm and vascular cylinder (stele). Axial and radial systems formed the secondary xylem of the roots. Tracheids and xylary parenchyma cells constituted the axial system, and xylary radial formed the radial systems. The secondary phloem consisted of sieve cells and phloem parenchymas. Only a small quantity of phloem fibers were distributed in the secondary phloem, and the phloem ray was unconspicuous. Many endophytic mycelia penetrated in the velamina.
CONCLUSIONSThe secondary structure of the root of Taxus chinensis var. mairei accords with that of other gymnosperms and dicotyledons, although its secondary xylem is constituted with tracheids and sieve cells. The endophytic mycelia exists in the local cells of velamina in the roots of Taxus chinensis var. mairei.
