Objective To discuss the characteristics, diagnosis, mechanism and the prognosis of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) induced by accessory pathway (AP).Methods The clinical, electrophysiological and echocardiographic characteristics in four cases, who were diagnosed as AP-induced DCM in the Department of Pediatric Cardiology of Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University from Mar.2011 to Aug.2012,were analyzed before and after ablation. Results The electrocardiograms of the 4 patients all indicated type B ventricular preexcitation. The locations of the APs were the right-sided anteroseptum and the free wall.Dyschronous contractions between posterior wall of left ventricle and interventricular septum were demonstrated by M-Mode echo. The basal segments of the interventricular septum turned thin and moved similar to an aneurysm, with typical bulging during end-systole,which was observed in all cases by two-dimension echo.Dyschronous left ventricular contraction was shown by speckle tracing technique. All patients received successful radio frequency current ablations.Their physical activities and growth improved greatly in the 4 cases. The echocardiographic data demonstrated that their left ventricular contraction recovered to synchrony shortly after the ablation, left ventricular ejection fraction recovered to normal and left ventricular end diastolic diameter decreased to almost normal gradually during the follow-up.Conclusions Overt right-sided APs localized in anteroseptum or free wall may have adverse effects on ventricular wall motion and left ventricular function. They can even result in DCM.Dyssynchronous ventricular contraction induced by right-sided overt accessory pathway may be the vital mechanism.AP-induced DCM is an indication for ablation with good prognosis.

OBJECTIVETo investigate anticancer effects of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) combined with CL, extract of Rosa roxburghii Tratt on human endometrial adenocarcinoma cell line (JEC).
METHODSJEC cells cultured in vitro in the logarithmic growth phase were seeded in the culture plate and divided into the control group (RPMI 1640), the positive group (10(-4) mol/L 5-FU), the CL groups (at the dose of 0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 microg/mL), and the CL (0.01, 0.1, 1, 10, and 100 microg/mL) combined with 5-FU groups. Effects of 5-FU combined with CL on JEC cell growth were drawn and measured by MTT and growth curves. Effects of CL combined with 5-FU on the JEC cell differentiation was analyzed by detecting the reduction capability of nitrobenzene thiocyanate (NBT) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) contents in the cultured medium. Effects of CL combined with 5-FU on the JEC cell apoptosis and cell proliferation cycle were detected by acridine orange (AO)/ethidium bromide (EB) fluorescent staining and flow cytometry (FCM).
RESULTSThe proliferation inhibitory effect of CL combined with 5-FU on JEC cells was enhanced when compared with that of CL or 5-FU alone (P<0.05). The percentages of NBT positive JEC cells and apoptotic JEC cells increased in the 5-FU combined with CL groups when compared with 5-FU group or the CL group alone (P<0.05). The LDH concentration of the JEC cell culture supernate decreased in 5-FU combined with CL groups (P<0.05). Furthermore, the percentage of G0-G1 phase JEC cells treated by 5-FU combined with CL was higher than that of 5-FU or CL alone (P<0.05).
CONCLUSIONCL could enhance anticancer effects of 5-FU. Its mechanisms might be correlated with reinforcing the cytotoxicity of 5-FU, inducing cell differentiation and apoptosis, and inhibiting cell proliferation and division.

Objective To investigate the relationship between cytomegalovirus infection and biliary atresia. Methods Sixteen infants with CMV infection and biliary atresia were retrospectively reviewed and compared with clinical manifestations with 29 infants with CMV hepatitis. Results Both serum CMV-IgM antibody and CMV-pp65 in polymophnuclear leukocytes were found positive in 9 cases, only CMV IgM antibody was found positive in 1 case and only CMV-pp65 were found positive in 3 cases, both CMV-IgM and CMV-pp65 were found negative in 3 cases.14 of 15 cases of CMV-pp65 were detected in liver tissues including 3 cases with negative CMV-IgM antibody and CMV-pp65 in blood. The clinical indexes in these 16 cases were much more severe than which in 29 infants with CMV hepatitis (P

Objective To explore the therapeutic effect of electroencephalograph(EEG)biofeedback on clinical symptoms and cognitive function of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD).Methods Twenty children aged(10.4?2.2)years old who were diagnosed as ADHD according to American Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders the 4th ed received EEG biofeedback treatment. The treatment was administered by Autogenic A620 machine,? wave(4-8 Hz)was suppressed and sensory motor rate wave was strengthened(12-15 Hz)at the same time. The treatment was total 40 times. Before and after treatment,Conner's Behavior Rating Scale-parent questionnaire was administered to assess the clinical symptoms, wechsler memory scale(WMS)to assess the long-term memory,short-term memory and instantaneous memory, number cancellation test and stroop test were used to assess the cognitive process speed and selective attention, and continuous performance test(CPT)was administered to assess the attention and impulsiveness. The children in healthy control group who compared with ADHD children by one to one came from the primary or middle school near the hospital, the age difference between ADHD child and healthy control group was within 6 months. All the measurements were administered to the healthy control group. Results After the EEG biofeedback treatment, the score of behavior factor in Conners Scale decreased significantly(P0.05).Conclusions Forty sessions EEG biofeedback can improve clinical symptoms, attention, memory, selective attention and cognitive process speed of ADHD children significantly, some indicators even become normal.

OBJECTIVETo research the effect of total saponins of Yinfenglun on uterine.
METHODModels of uterine inflammation were established to observe the effect of total saponins of Yinfenglun. Uterine contractive effects were studied on rats in vitro and on rabbit in vivo. Weight of uterus and levels of estrogen and progestogen were determined.
RESULTTotal Saponins of Yinfenglun had the ameliorated tendency to metritis of model rats, and increased the contractive range and motorricity of uterine of rats in vitro and of rabbit in vivo. The effect to uterus in vivo maintained longer. Total saponins of Yinfenglun could increase the weight of uterus and have an increased tendency on the content of estrogen, but not the level of progestogen.
CONCLUSIONThere are obvious effects on uterine of total saponins of Yinfenglun, which are related to its clinical use.

OBJECTIVETo research the hemostatic effect of total saponins of Yinfenglun.
METHODBleeding time and volume were deteminded in mice after tails being cut. Clotting times were researched on mice, rats and dogs. Hemostatic mechanism total saponins of Yinfenglun were studied on plasma recalcified time, PT, KPTT and ELT.
RESULTTSY at different doses could markedly shorten bleeding time, reduce bleeding volume in mice. TSY also could shorten clotting time of mouse, rat and dog. TSY could influence both intrinsic coagulatian system and extrinsic coagulatian system, and had no effect of antifibrinolysis.
CONCLUSIONThere were obvious hemostatic effect of total saponins of Yinfenglun.
