ObjectiveTo evaluate the effect of early intervention on intellectual development in children with brain injury syndrome. Methods107 children with brain injury syndrome were divided into intervention group （n=73） and observation group （n=34）. The intervention group accepted early interventions for mental retardation introduced in child early education manual. Observation group accepted family training. They were followed up once per 1 or 2 months, and assessed with Gesell Developmental Schedules 6 months later. ResultsThere were more children whose adaptability DQ within the normal range (maintained or restored) in the intervention group than in the observation group. ConclusionEarly intervention may decrease the intellectual retardation for children with brain injury syndrome.

Objective To investigate the effect of GATA-6 on endogenous carbon monoxide(CO) inhibited pulmonary vascular smooth muscle cells(PVSMCs) proliferation induced by platelet-derived growth factor(PDGF).Methods Tissue mass culture was done to get PVSMCs artery in SD rats.The PVSMCs were stimulated to proliferation by PDGF(20 ?g/L),and the 3 different concentrations of hemin[a substrate and inducer of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1)] add into the cultures to induce CO production.The PVSMC cell proli-feration was detected by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazoly1)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide(MTT) method,DNA synthesis was detected by thymidine incorporation,and GATA-6 mRNA expression was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR).Results CO inhibited the PVSMCs proliferation induced by PDGF in a dose-dependent and time-dependent manner.Hemin with high concentration markedly inhibited the proliferation and DNA synthesis of PVSMCs.After 2 hours with PDGF,the expression of(GATA-6) mRNA markedly down-regulated,and began returned after 6 hours.However,CO could reversed this down-regulation.Conclusions CO can inhibit the proliferation of PVSMCs induced by PDGF.PDGF can result in the expression of GATA-6 mRNA down-regulated;the down-regulation is reversed by CO.This study suggested that CO maybe inhibit PVSMCs proliferation by regulating expression of GATA-6.

Background There are a lot of studies about the carrier of corneal endothelial transplantation,but the best carrier has not been defined.Objective This study was to investigate the biocompatibility of chitosan carrier with rabbit corneal endothelium in vivo.Methods Fresh eye-balls were obtained from 10 New Zealand white rabbits.Rabbit corneal endothelial cells (CECs) were isolated and cultured on chitosan carrier in vitro.The morphology and density of rabbits CECs were observed every day,and the expressions of fibronectin (FN),collagen-1 (Coil-I) and Zonula occludens 1 (ZO-1) were detected by immunoinfluorescence.The morphology and ultrastructure of CECs were observed under the scanning and transmission electron microscope.Chitosan carrier with CECs was implanted into the anterior chamber of the left eyes in ten healthy New Zealand white rabbits,and only paracentesis of anterior chamber was performed in the right eyes as controls.The inflammation of ocular anterior segment was examined under the slit lamp microscope,and corneal thickness was measured 1 week,4 and 8 weeks after operation.Corneal endothelium cell density and morphology were examined under the corneal endothelial microscope at postoperative 2 weeks.Corneal samples were collected for the regular histopathological examination to observe the inflammatory reaction at postoperative 1 month and 3 months.Paired t test was used for statistical analyses between the control group (left eyes) and the experimental group (right eyes).The use and care of the animals followed the Statement of ARVO.Results CECs formed an intact monolayer of cells with the uniform shape and size on the chitosan membrane after incubated for 5 days.The cells reached confluence of 90％ 7 days after cultured with the 40％ hexagon cells.Under the scanning electron nicroscope,rabbit CECs showed the round or polygon in the shape with the microvillus on the cell surface.The cells connected closely by desmosome.The processes,pseudopodiums and microvillus on the cellular surface,vacuole in the cytoplasm,expanded endoplasmic reticulum with ribosome and abundant chromatin were exhibited under the transmission electron microscope.The immunofluorescence examination revealed the positive expressions of FN,Coll-Ⅰ and ZO-1 in the CECs on the chitosan carrier.In the in vivo experiment,the exudation in the anterior chamber and corneal edema were seen under the slit lamp microscope 3 days after implantation of chitosan carrier with CECs.However,the inflammation was gone 14 days after operation.The differences of the corneal thickness were no significant between the experimental group and the control group 1 week and 4,8 weeks after operation (t =1.377,P=0.265;t =1.795,P=0.165 ; t =0.390,P =0.760).In addition,no significant differences were found in the CECs density and the hexagon cells rate between the two groups(P =0.365,0.062).The histopathological examination showed that the inflammatory cells around the chitosan membrane were disappeared 3 months after operation and showed a good corneal structure.Conclusions Chitosan carrier has a good biocompatibility with rabbit CECs and anterior chamber,and it may be a potentially good carrier for CECs transplantation.

Objective With awareness, attitudes, and rice-intake behavior of Kaschin-Beck disease (KBD) and the analysis of the factors that influence KBD related rice-intake behaviors among resident's in Aba,this research could provide evidences for KBD-Control, and benefit the policy development related to KBD-Control.Methods Villages were chosen by proportional stratified random sampling from KBD monitoring villages among agriculture areas, pastoral areas, and farming & pastoral areas in Aba, Sichuan, in July 2009. Interview questionnaire of household survey, designed by research associates of this project, was used in this research for residents in endemic area of KBD in Aba. The questionnaire covered demographic and socio-economic characteristics, KBD knowledge and diet habits. Multi-level Variance Component Analysis was used to explore factors which would influence the KBD related rice-intake behaviors. Results A total of 1029 permanent residents were recruited in this research, among which the detection rate of KBD was 48.01％ (482/1004). Most of the patients lived in farming & pastoral areas(84.44％, 407/482). Pastoral residents had the least knowledge of KashinBeck disease, and the composition ratios ofGeneral andGood were 15.87％ (33/208)and 3.36％ (7/208),respectively. Still, people who were willing to have rice as staple food were 93.13％(935/1004). It indicated that only (50.40 ± 23.68)％ on average, of research subjects had the life style of rice intake. Ethnic, work status,language situation and attitudes to rice intake were influencing factors for rice-intake behavior. Conclusions The percentage of rice intake in Aba KBD epidemic areas is low. And to prevent KBD, the advocacy actions should be targeted at ethnic, work status, language situation, and attitudes to rice intake.

Objective To discuss the correlation between cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and uterine cervix cancer and the combination of TCT and colposcope for the investigation of cervical lesion.Methods 5545 patients were preliminarily screened by cervical fluid basement cell folium smear,in which 307 patients are masculine and 219 are negative,the 526 patients are suspected cervical lesions in clinical symptoms and they further underwent colposcopy and biopsy,the results were analyzed by pathohistology which is golden standard.Results CIN coherent dangerous factors analyzed by single factor Logistic regression analysis are:cervical HPV pollution,age of sexual activity,sexual partners numbers,protection of sexual life, STD history,age and frequency of miscarriage ( P < 0.05 ).The coincidence between TCT,colposeopy and pathologic diagnosis are 49.4%, 83.8% ;the omission diagnostic rate of LSIL,HSIL and CC from TCT are 63.63% ,74.44% ,100% ;the omission diagnostic rate of LSIL,HSIL and CC from colposcopy are 33.37%, 12.22% ,0;the sensitivity of TCT,colposcopy and TCT combine colposcopy for CIN are 61.2% ,84.6% ,94.5% and specificity are 85.4% ,88.2.% ,90.8%.Conclusions (1)The generation of CIN and cervical cancer are correlated with cervical HPV pollution,sexual behavior and various kinds of lower genital tract infection.(2) Fluid basement cell folium smear can promote the property of diagnosis,meet the demands of early stage uterus neck cancer and precancer lesion investigation,are suitable to be routine cheek methods in primary hospital.

Objective To research the allocation rationality of different nursing departments, post modulus and to supply base for establishing scientific nursing human resources configuration and reform proposals of performance. Methods A survey involving 489 staff had been carried out. The staff were requested to fill a questionnaire designed personally which was about different nursing departments post modulus. Results The score of neurosurgery department was 26.62 which was the highest score of surgical departments. The score of urological department was 19.78 which is the lowest score of surgical departments. The score of ICU was 26.22 which was the highest score of medical deprtments. The score of senility department was 18.00 which is the lowest score of medical departments. The score was upright related to the nursing work amount. Conclusions Measuring different nursing departments post modulus can supply base for hospital policymakers, draw up the nursing human resources more scientifically and it also can adequately transfer the motivation of the nurses.

Laron syndrome is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by defects of growth hormone receptor (GHR) gene. It is characterized by severe postnatal growth retardation and characteristic facial features as well as high circulating levels of growth hormone (GH) and low levels of insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3 (IGFBP-3). This report described the clinical features and GHR gene mutations in 2 siblings with Laron syndrome in a Chinese family. Their heights and weights were in the normal range at birth, but the growth was retarded after birth. When they presented to the clinic, the heights of the boy (8 years old) and his sister (11 years old) were 80.0 cm (-8.2 SDS) and 96.6 cm (-6.8 SDS) respectively. They had typical appearance features of Laron syndrome such as short stature and obesity, with protruding forehead, saddle nose, large eyes, sparse and thin silky hair and high-pitched voice. They had higher basal serum GH levels and lower serum levels of IGF-I, IGFBP-3 and growth hormone binding protein (GHBP) than normal controls. The peak serum GH level after colonidine and insulin stimulations in the boy was over 350 ng/mL. After one-year rhGH treatment, the boy's height increased from 80.0 cm to 83.3 cm. The gene mutation analysis revealed that two patients had same homozygous mutation of S65H (TCA -->CCA) in exon 4, which is a novel gene mutation. It was concluded that a definite diagnosis of Laron syndrome can be made based on characteristic appearance features and serum levels of GH, IGF-I, IGFBP-3 and GHBP. The S65H mutation might be the cause of Laron syndrome in the two patients.

Objective To know the prevalence rate of iron deficiency anemia and its effect on growth and development among infants under 6 months. Methods A total of 341 infants who were born from July 2011 to June 2012 were enrolled. The information of blood routine examination,growth index,feeding patterns was collected at age of 42 days and 6 months,respectively. Developmental screening test was conducted at age of 6 months. Results The prevalence rate of anemia at 42 days was 37. 54%,and there was no significant difference between males(40. 54%)and females(33. 97%) (P>0. 05). The prevalence rate of iron deficiency anemia at 6 months was 19. 35%,in which 48. 48% were new cases. At age of 42 days,there was no significant difference between different feeding patterns in anemia prevalence( breast feeding:30. 82%,mixed feeding:41. 40%,artificial feeding:47. 37%,P>0. 05). While at age of 6 months,the anemia prevalence of breast feeding group was higher( 38. 20%)than that of the other two groups( mixed feeding:16. 38%;artificial feeding:9. 56%;P<0. 05 ). The rate of developmental quotient below 70 was 11. 76% in the anemia cases whose hemoglobin was continuously low from 42 days to 6 months,which was higher than that of new onset anemia cases (3. 13%)and normal hemoglobin controls(1. 82%)(P<0. 05). Conclusion Continuously low hemoglobin at early age of 42 days to 6 months is potentially harmful to neuropsychological development of infants. Early screening of hemoglobin is urgently needed for intervention of iron deficiency anemia among infants.

Objective To explore relationship between different HBV genotypes and peripheral blood HBV specific and nonspecific CTL of patients with cirrhotic hepatitis B and its significance. Methods HBV genotypes were tested in 91 patients with cirrhotic hepatitis B, differences of HBV specific and nonspecific CTL between patients infected with genotype B and C were compared and its significance was explored. Results In 91 cases of cirrhotic hepatitis B, 55 cases (60.44% ) belong to genotype C, 35 cases (38. 46% ) belong to genotype B, 1 case (1. 1% ) belongs to mixture genotype B and C. In genotype C,27 cases (49.09% ) had positive (HLA)-A2, HBV specific CTL was 0. 18% ±0.03%. In genotype B, 18 cases (51.43% ) had positive HLA-A2, HBV specific CTL was 0. 38% ± 0.04% , higher than that in genotype C,t =5. 01, P <0. 01. Conclusion Compared with patients infected with genotype B of cirrhotic hepatitis B, HBV specific CTL of patients infected with genotype C was lower, resulting in higher level of HBV DNA and more severe damage of liver function.
