Objective To study a gene determing the sensitivity to sevoflurane in autosomal chromosomes of Drosophila melanogaster. Methods Virgin females of wild type Drosophila melanogaster(H) were crossed with ebony(e) males to breeding F 1 hybrids ,to measure the ED 50 of e,H and F 1 for sevoflurane. Then, e virgin females were crossed with F 1 males to breed F 2 hybrids. Sevoflurane ED 50 of F 2 hybrids was measured according to body's colour. The ED 50 was measured when the fruit flies were 7 days old.A hereditary analysis was conducted to determine the localization of gene(s) in chromosome determining sensitivitiy to sevoflurane. Results The ED 50 of H was significantly higher than that of e . The ED 50 of phenotype of F 1 hybrids was similar to one of H of F 1.The number ratio of flies with black abdomen to ebony flies was about 1∶1 in F 2 hybrids which generated from crosses of F 1 hybrid males with e virgin females. The sevoflurane ED 50 of F 2 hybrids was significantly higher than that of F 2 fly of e and was significantly lower than the ED 50 of F 2 fly of H . The dose response curve of F 2 hybrids had a two peak, however, the dose response curve of F 2 fruit fly of e or H had a single peak. Conclusions The gene(s) or major gene(s) determining the sensitivity to sevoflurane is (are) located on the second chromosome of Drosophila melanogaster.

Objective Concluding the clinical feature and prognosis of primary testicular lymphoma to improve the understanding of this disease. Methods During 1995 and 2010,17 cases of primary testicular lymphoma treated in Beijing Friendship Hospital of Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed of its clinical features, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Results Seventeen patients with a mean age of 68 years complained the testicular sohd mass as their first symptoms. The mean tumor diameter was 4.7 cm,and all patients underwent orchidectomy, and testicular non- Hodgkin's lymphoma was confirmed by pathologic examination.Fourteen cases were diffuse large B cell type and 3 cases were anaplastic large cell type. The clinical stage of all the patients was IE.Fourteen cases were followed up (3 cases were lost)with mean follow-up time of 37.8 months by outpatient interview and telephone, all patients were treated with CHOP chemotherapy, and some of them were combined with rituximab and preventive lowdose pelvic radiotherapy.Five cases died of other chronic medical complications,1 case with contralateral testicular metastasis received surgery again. There were 9 tumor free survival cases in total. Conclusion Primary testicular lymphoma is rare and more common in older men.Postoperative pathologic diagnosis is gold standard. The systemic treatment and individual therapy is the first choice for primary testicular lymphoma.

Xanthine oxidase (XOD), catalyzing purine metabolism, is the key enzyme in uric acid (UA) biosynthesis, and becomes an important target for hyperuricemia treatment. The inhibition on XOD plays an important role in the treatment of hyperuricemia-related diseases, such as gout, as well as oxidative stress-induced tissue injury. Here, studies on the natural products with XOD inhibition are reviewed.

Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of Truview~(TM)EVO_2 optic laryngoscope by comparing it with the Macintosh laryngoscope in patients receiving cervical vertebral surgery. Methods:One hundred patients scheduled for elective cervical vertebral surgery were enrolled in this randomized crossover study. After induction, the patients'glottis in group A (n=50)was displayed by Macintosh laryngoscope and the Cormack-Lehane(C/L)grade was recorded, and then optic laryngoscope was employed to display the laryngeal structure. The order of laryngoscopy attempts was reversed in group B(n= 50).Parameters recorded included demographics, airway assessment feat ures(BMI,thyromental distance, mandibular size, mouth opening, mallampati oropharyngeal scale, and neck movement),C/L grade, laryngoscopic force applied, duration of intubation, difficulties of laryngeal view and injury of upper airway. Results:There were no significant difference in demographics, airway assessment features,C/L grade and duration of intubation between the 2 groups, whereas the laryngoscopic force in group A was significantly lower than that in group B(P

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of Zige lyophilized powder for injection in improving the acute cerebral microcirculation disturbance in rats.
METHODWindow craniotomy was performed for rats after the drug administration for 14 days. The experimental microcirculation disturbance model was duplicated with high molecule dextran. After the drug administration, the micro-vein diameters of cerebral pla mater of various groups were observed and recorded under the biological microscope. The blood flow volume was monitored by laser Doppler flow-meter. HCT was measured by the electric resistance method. The hemorheological indexes were detected by the auto-hemorheological instrument.
RESULTZige lyophilized powder for injection (16.40, 32.70, 65.40 mg x kg(-1)) could significantly expand the micro-vein diameter of cerebral pla mater, improve the downward trend of the blood flow volume, and reduce the various hemorheological indexes.
CONCLUSIONZige lyophilized powder for injection shows the effect in improving the cerebral microcirculation.

Protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) 1B is a potential target for the treatment of diabetes and obesity. We have previously identified the benzoyl sulfathiazole derivative II as a non-competitive PTP1B inhibitor with in vivo insulin sensitizing effects. Preliminary SAR study on this compound series has been carried out herein, and thirteen new compounds have been designed and synthesized. Among them, compound 10 exhibited potent inhibition against human recombinant PTP1B with the IC50 value of 3.97 micromol x L(-1), and is comparable to that of compound II.

Objective To evaluate the mid-term tollow-up results of cervical artificial disc replacement (CADR) for cervical degenerative disc disease, and to explore whether it can reduce the occurrence of adjacent segment degeneration (ASD).Methods A prospective comparative study of 93 patients who underwent CADR or anterior cervical decompression and fusion (ACDF) for cervical degenerative disc disease were conducted. All patients were followed up for more than 6 years. The Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, neck disability index (NDI),Odom's scale,X-rays and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were used to evaluate the clinical and radiologic results. Results Twenty eight patients who underwent CADR and 35 patients who underwent ACDF had complete follow-up data.At final follow-up,the JOA score and NDI improved significantly in both groups.Between the two groups, there was no significant difference in terms of JOA score,NDI and Odom's scale. The sagittal alignment was well maintained in both groups. The total cervical spine range of motion (ROM) had no significant change for the CADR group, whereas,it significantly decreased for the ACDF group. The ROM at the replacement level of CADR patients decreased from 9.5° ± 3.7° before operation to 7.0° ± 3.0° 3 months after operation, and it was maintained to 6.6° ± 4.1° at final follow-up without significant decrease.Lateral radiographs and T2-weighted MRI showed the incidence of ASD in CADR group was significantly lower than that in ACDF group. Conclusion The six-year follow-up results of CADR are basically satisfactory.Compared with ACDF,it could better preserve physiological motion and biomechanics of cervical spine, and reduce the incidence of ASD.
