OBJECTIVETo study clinical effects of inversive LISS (less invasive stabilization system, LISS) plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures.

METHODSFrom January 2009 to Janurary 2012, 11 patients with Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures were treated with inversive LISS plate combined with steel wire, including 8 males and 3 females, ranging in age from 35 to 61 years old (averaged, 51 years old). Causes of injury: 8 patients caused by accident and 3 patients caused by falling down. According to X-ray examination, all the patients were type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures and were treated with LISS plate combined with steel wire. Merle d'Aubigne scores were used to evaluate therapeutic effects on hip.

RESULTSThe mean period of follow-up was 16 months (ranged, 12 to 28 months). All the patients obtained bone union for average 3.8 months (ranged from 3 to 4.3 months). There were no complications such as deep infection,deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and bone nonunion. According to Merle d'Aubigne scores, 7 patients got an excellent result and 4 good.

CONCLUSIONInversive LISS plate combined with steel wire for the treatment of Seinsheimer type V subtrochanteric femoral fractures is satisfactory, Which can provide stable fixation for fracture end and provide an ideal internal fixation method for treatment of this kind of fractures in the future.

Objective To study a novel method for the high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR) CT image to the intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) CT image deformable image registration and dose accumulation.Methods The applicator in the HDR CT image is first segmented and removed,then a deflation step is performed on the applicator-free HDR CT image by solving the Navier-Stokes equation.Demons algorithm is utilized to register the deflated HDR CT image to the IMRT CT image,along with the HDR dose.The deformed HDR dose is then added on the IMRT dose and yield the final accumulated dose.Results The HDR CT image and IMRT CT image,as well as the corresponding dose distribution,from five cervical cancer patients are used for evaluation of the proposed algorithm,the results show that the proposed method can effectively get rid of the influence of the applicator and produce an accurate accumulated dose.Conclusions Dose accumulation and supervision is an important step in adaptive radiotherapy for accurate dose delivery and treatment plan re-optimization.The proposed method in this study can effectively accumulate the HDR dose to the IMRT dose domain,and the accuracy is proved to be sufficient for clinical needs.

Some documents had reported that plant-derived smoke water showed prominent effects of promoting seed germination, seedling growth and fruit quality of crops and horticultural plants. Recently, researches had also focused on the significant activity of smoke water in improving the yield and quality of medicinal plants, which provided new ideas for increasing the medicinal plants yield and quality. In this paper, physiological effects, active component, and mechanism of smoke water and its application in medicinal plants were summarized, which can be used as references of more value for the further development of medicinal plants.

Objective To study the expressions of α1-AT and VEGF-C in human bronchoalveolarcarcinorrm, and the relation of the expression to the patholo~cM differentiation and clinical stage. Methods All 49 Darffin embedding samples of patients with bronchoalveolar carcinoma were studied. α1-AT and VEGF-C were detected by immunohistochemical SP method.Automated image analyzer was used to quantify α1-AT and VEGF-C expressions.Results The immunohistochemical positive stainings of α1-AT and VEGF-C in brown or dark brown were located in cytopla8m.The expression levels of α1-AT and VEGF-C were not related with the gender,age,tumor position and size,and histology subtypos(P＞0.05).It Was found that the expression of α1-AT in patients with local lymph node metastasis was significantly lower than those without node metastasis(P＜0.001).It was found that the expression of VEGF-C in patients with local node metastasis significantly higher than th08e without node metastasis(P＜0.001).There Was a negative correlation between the expression level of α1-AT and the expression level of VEGF-C in bronchoalveolar carcinoma(r=-0.324,P＜0.05).Conclusion α1-AT and VEGF-C could be secreted by bronehoalveolar carcinoma.Bronehoalveolar carcinoma with lower α1-AT expression and higher VEGF-C expression is more likely to have lymph node metastasis.Lower α1-AT expression and higher VEGF-C expression can participate in the mechanism of lymph node metastasis in carcinoma together.
