Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataract are the most common causes of low vision worldwide.Nowadays, there is still a controversy about whether cataract surgery should be taken in patients combined with AMD and when should the surgery be taken.The aim of this review is to assess the influence of cataract surgery on the occurrence and development of AMD, to analyze the risk factors, to explore the occasion of cataract surgery in patients with AMD, and joint with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) treatment, also including the development and application of intraocular lens.It helps to avoid and postpone the development and progression of macular degeneration after cataract surgery and get good visual outcome.

[Summary] According to the cutpoint of plasma triglycerides concentration ≥ 1.7 mmol/L,waist circumference ≥85 cm in men or ≥80 cm in women,459 patiens with type 2 diabetes mellitus were divided into four groups:normal waist circumference and triglycerides,normal waist circumference and hypertriglyceridemia,abdominal obesity and normal triglycerides,and hypertriglyceridemic-waist (HTWC) group.The results showed that body mass index,waist circumference,systolic blood pressure,triglycerides,microalbuminuria,and homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR) in HTWC group were higher than those in non-HTWC groups (all P＜0.01),as well as higher diabetic nephropathy incidence (P＜0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that HTWC was an independent risk factor of diabetic nephropathy (OR =2.070,95 ％ CI 1.195-3.586).

Objective To investigate the effect of flavopiridol on the proliferation,invasiveness and apoptosis of human prostate cancer cell line LNCaP,and to explore the possibility of its application in clinical treatment.Methods MTT assay was used to detect cell proliferation,cell invasion in vitro was detected by Transwell assay,and flow cytometer was used to observe apoptosis.Results Flavopiridol inhibited the growth of LNCaP cells in a concentration-dependent and time-dependent way (P ＜ 0.05),and reduced the ability of invasion capacity.After treated by 10 nmol/L flavopiridol for 24 h,the apoptosis rate was increased significantly to (7.5±0.9) ％ compared with the control group [(5.3±0.5) ％] (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Flavopiridol can inhibit proliferation of LNCaP cells and induce apoptosis,which may be applicable for the treatment of prostate cancer.

Objective To explore the clinical significance of the brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) in evaluating the cardiotoxicity caused by daunorubicin(DNR) through studying the changes of the plasma BNP levels in children with acute leukemia who accepted the chemotherapy with DNR.Methods Thirty-one children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia(ALL) admitted in the year of 2002-2004 underwent the chemotherapy in DVLP project.The plasma level of BNP was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and the left ventricular end diastolic diameter(LVEDD) by color Doppler respectively before and after the administration of DNR.Simultaneously,electrocardiography(ECG) and cardiac muscle enzymes(LDH1,CK-MB) were measured as routine.Results The plasma level of BNP increased from(3.97?2.41) ng/L to(18.25?7.63) ng/L(P
