Objective To study the radiosensitization effects of tetrandrine on advanced non small cell lung cancer and its toxicity.Methods The patients of 82 cases with advanced non-small cell lung cancer were confirmed by pathology or cytology.The first course of treatment was treated with radiation therapy.Patients were divided into three groups:tetrandrine group,paclitaxel group and radiotherapy group.Tetrandrine group(30 cases)took radiotherapy with 40 mg tetrandrine(3 times a day)from the first day to the ending.Paclitaxel group (29 cases)took radiotherapy with intravenous infusion of 60 mg paclitaxel(once a week).Radio-therapy group (23 cases)only received radiotherapy.Results Tetrandrine and paclitaxel had the same radiosensitizing effect in ra-diotherapy.The total effective rate of tetrandrine and paclitaxel group was higher than radiotherapy group (P <0.05 ).The inci-dence of radiation pneumonitis in tetrandrine group was significantly lower than the other two groups (P <0.05).The one year free disease survival rate was promoted in tetrandrine group than other groups.Conclusion Tetrandrine was known as the same radia-tion sensitizing effect of paclitaxel fairly,which can reduce the toxicity of radiotherapy.

OBJECTIVE To monitor the bacterial distribution and the drug resistance among elderly patients in Medical depariment for senior cadres′ of our hospital,and offer the reference for the clinical use of antibiotics therapy.METHODS From Jan 2006 to Dec 2007 1230 pathogen strains isolated from the elderly patients and antimicrobial susceptibility was tested.RESULTS Of 1230 pathogen strains isolated,747 strains were Gram-negative bacilli,310 strains were Gram-positive cocci,and 173 strains were fungi.The percentage of these three groups were 60.7%,25.2% and 14.1%,respectively.The major strain of fungi was Candida albicans.ESBLs producing rates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae were 48.0% and 35.8%,respectively. Meticillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and coagulase negative Staphylococcus(MRCNS) accounted for 65.0% and 77.8%,respectively.VRE were 17.7%.In our data,no vancomycin-resistant Staphlococcus was isolated.Pathogenic bacteria were higher resistant to the commonly used antibiotics.The Gram-negative bacteria were sensitive to imipenem,meropenem,antibiotics combined with ?-lactamases inhibitor,and amikacin.The Gram-positive bacteria were sensitive to vancomycin and teicoplanin.CONCLUSIONS The major pathogens infected the elderly patients in Medical department for senior cadres′ are Gram-negative bacteria,and the pathogens show the high drug resistance.The result of antimicrobial susceptibility test can guide to cure and control infection of elderly patients effectively.

OsRacD belonging to rice Rho family of the small GTP binding proteins,is a pivotal gene involved in rice photoperiod fertility conversion of photoperiod sensitive genic male sterile rice,which influences rice fertility via controlling the pollen tube growth.T20N site-directed mutation was introduced into its highly conserved G1 motif by PCR-mediated method to mimic its GDP-binding state based on the sequences alignment and conserved domains analysis.The prokaryotic expression vector of OsRacD and T20N-OsRacD were constructed,and the His6 tag fused proteins were expressed and purified from E.coli.After identified by Western blot,the GTP hydrolysis activities were detected.The results showed that the GTPase activities of T20N-OsRacD were significantly reduced comparing with that of OsRacD,suggested that OsRacD and T20N-OsRacD have different biochemical characteristics.

AlM:To investigate the effect of peripheral vision control technology for delaying the development of juvenile myopia.METHODS:A total of ninty-nine cases of 12 ~18 year-old myopic patients were randomly divided into two groups. The experimental group was peripheral vision control technology group whose members wore the special lenses which can help correct the hypermetropic defocus of peripheral retina. The other was control group whose members wore ordinary monofocal lenses. All the subjects needed to accept re-examination every 3mo and be recorded the data of dioptre, corneal curvature and axial length.RESULTS: After 18mo, the dioptre and axial length of two groups had increased in varying degree. But the data's different quantity of the corneal curvature in each group had no statistical significance ( P > 0. 05 ). Themyopia deepen quantity in experimental group was-0. 65±0. 65D and its axial growth was 0. 23±0. 22mm, and the myopia deepen quantity in control group was -1. 17 ± 0. 50D and its axial growth was 0. 41 ± 0. 17mm. Under the circumstance of valid data, the increment of myopia and axial length in experimental group was lower than that in control group (P<0. 05).CONCLUSlON: Peripheral vision control technology can delay the development of juvenile myopia effectively.

Objective: To investigate the effect of oleanolic acid (OA) on apoptosis, correlation between apoptosis and intracellular calcium, and its mechanism in human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549. Methods: Human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells were incubated in vitro and assigned with OA concentrations of 0, 10, 20 and 40 μg/mL. The apoptosis status of A549 cell line was detected with Annexin V-FITC/PI by flow cytometry (FCM) ; fluorescence intensity (FI) of A549 cells was assessed and the level of intracellular calcium was calculated at 24 hour of OA intervention. The relation between apoptosis and calcium FI was illustrated by curve fitting. Results: FCM showed that 10, 20 and 40 μg/mL of OA could induce A549 cell apoptosis, which followed a concentration-effect pattern; 24-hour intervention with 20 μg/mL and 40 μg/mL OA showed increased A549 cell apoptosis, and was significantly different from that with 0 μg/mL OA (P<0.01). The FI of intracellular calcium concentration in 10, 20 and 40 μg/mL OA groups was significantly higher than that in 0 μg/mL group after 24 hours' intervention, and the FI showed a trend of increase with increased OA concentration (P<0.01). Curve fitting showed a significant correlation between apoptosis rate and intracellular calcium concentration in A549 cells (r=0.981, P<0.01). Regression equation was Y = 0.508X-1.627. Conclusion: OA plays a role in inducing apoptosis of human lung adenocarcinoma cells in a concentration-dependent manner. The OA-induced apoptosis is responsible for intracellular calcium overload of the tumor.

Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of dynamic hip screw( DHS) and proximal femoral nail anti-rotation( PFNA) in treatment of patients with Parkinson’ s disease and intertrochanteric fracture. Methods A total of 62 elderly patients of Parkinson’ s disease with femoral intertrochanteric fracture in our hospital from February 2010 to February 2014 were divided into two groups according to different internal fixations,with 31 cases in DHS group and PFNA group respectively. The operation time,X-ray fluoroscopy times,intraoperatve blood soss,the healing time of fracture,postoperative complications and Harris score between two groups were recorded and compared statistically. Results The operation time,intraoperatve blood soss and the clinical healing time of PFNA group were significantly lower than those of DHS group,the differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05). But the times of intraoperative fluoroscopy of PFNA group was more than that of DHS group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05). The Harris score of hip function results showed that the excellent rate of PFNA group was significantly higher than that of DHS group, the difference was statistically significant (P=0. 034). All patients were fol-lowed up for 6 to 48 months. There were 4 cases with complications after operation in DHS group,1 cases of complications in PFNA group,the difference in complications was not significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion The PFNA has the advantages of shorter operation time,less bleed-ing,faster healing time in treatment for elderly patients with Parkinson’ s disease and intertrochanteric fracture,worth clinical promotion.
