Objective To investigate the effect of different modes of one-lung ventilation ( OLV) on respiratory mechanics, hemodynamics and arterial oxygen tension ( PaO2) in pediatric patients. Methods Thirty-four ASA Ⅰ - Ⅱ patients (14 male, 20 female) aged 2-10 yr, weighing 8-26 kg undergoing abdominal surgery or operations on extremities were enrolled in this study. The patients were premedicated with intramuscular phenobarbital 2-3 mg ? kg-1 and atropine 0.015 mg ? kg-1 . In the operating room the patients were given intramuscular midazolam 0.25 mg? kg-1 and ketamine 2.5 mg ? kg-1 before intravenous line and EGG, NIBP and SpO2 monitoring were established. Anesthesia was induced with intravenous fentanyl 3-5 ?g kg-1 and vecuronium 0.1 mg? kg-1 and maintained with isoflurane inhalation supplemented with intermittent iv boluses of fentanyl and vecuronium. In patients aged over 5 yr Univent (Fuji Corpi) was inserted and left main bronchus was blocked during OLV. In patients less than 5 yr ordinary tracheal tube was inserted and was advanced into right main bronchus during OLV. Correct positioning of the tube was checked by fiberoptic bronchoscopy or auscultation. The test consisted of three steps : firstly two-lung ventilation (TLV) with volume-control mode; secondly OLV with volume-control mode;lastly OLV with pressure-control mode. During first and second step VT was set at 8-10 ml kg-1 and respiratory rate was adjusted to maintain PETCO2 between 4.5-6.0 kPa. During the third step (OLV with pressure-control mode) the inspiratory pressure was set according to the plateau pressure during step 1 and 2 (volume-control mode). Each step was maintained for 25 min before respiratory mechanics , hemodynamics and PaO2 were measured and recorded. Results During OLV with volume-control mode (second step) , peak pressure (Ppeak), plateau pressure (Pplat) and airway resistance (Raw) were significantly higher but dynamic compliance was significantly lower, cardiac output (CO) and stroke volume (SV) were significant lower but systemic vascular resistance (SVR) was significantly higher and PaO2 was significantly lower than those during first step (two lung ventilation with volume-control mode) (P

Objective To study the effects of proprioception training on the motor function and ability in the activities of daily living (ADL) of hemiplegic stroke patients. Methods Forty hemiplegic stroke patients were divided into study group and a control group ( n =20 in each). The two groups received conventional rehabilitation treatment and pharmacotherapy, but the study group received additional proprioception training. The Technobody proprioceptive system assessment, the Fugl-Meyer lower limb assessment (FMA),the Berg balance scale (BBS) and the modified Barthel index (MBI) were used to evaluate their proprioceptive ability, lower limb motor function, balance and ADL ability, before and after 4 weeks of treatment. Results After 4 weeks, proprioception, lower limb motor function, balance and ADL ability had all improved significantly in the experimental group.Lower limb motor function, balance and ADL ability had also improved significantly in the control group, but they showed no significant change in their average proprioceptive ability. The improvement in the experimental group was superior to that of the control group in terms of proprioceptive ability, balance and ADL ability. Conclusions Proprioception training can improve the motor function (including the proprioception and balance) and ADL ability of hemiplegic stroke patients.

Objective To establish the quality standard of Fengshi Bitong Capsule. Methods Notopterygh Rhizoma,Angelicae Pubescentis, and Saposhnikoviae Radix were identified by thin layer chromatography(TLC).Aconitine limit test in this drug also carried out by TLC.The contents of Isoimperatorin in the Notopterygh Rhizoma were determined by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC).Results The spots in the TLC were fairly clear and no interference was shown in the blank samples. The aconitine limited in conformity with the 《Chinese Pharmacopoeia》 2010.Isoimperatorin showed a good linear relationship within a range of 3.668 96-183.448 00 μg· mL-1(r=1).The average of recovery was 96.42%,RSD=2.64%,respectively.Conclusion The established methods are highly specific, stable and reproducible, which can be used as quality control of fengshi bitong capsule.

Objective To investigate alterations of endothelial microparticles(EMPs) levels in patients with coronary heart dis‐ease(CHD) ,and to evaluate the relationship between EMPs and interleukin‐6(IL‐6) and C‐reactive protein(CRP) .Methods A to‐tal of 38 patients with CHD were divided into myocardial infarction(MI) group(13 cases) and unstable angina(UA) group(13 ca‐ses) and stable angina(SA) group(12 cases) ,and 12 healthy subjects were enrolled as control group .Levels of EMPs were meas‐ured by using flow cytometry technique .Concentration of IL‐6 and CRP were determined by using enzyme linked immunosorbent assay and special protein analysis respectively .Results Compared with SA group and control group ,levels of EMPs were signifi‐cantly increased in MI group and UA group(P<0 .05) .Levels of EMPs in patients with CHD were significantly correlated with IL‐6 and CRP ,with correlation coefficient of 0 .79 and 0 .50 respectively(P<0 .05) .Conclusion EMPs could contribute to monitoring and evaluating the degree of endothelial cells injury in patients with CHD as a laboratory indicator .EMPs might enhance the vascu‐lar inflammation in patients with CHD ,and further accelerate the development of CHD .

Objective To observe the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on the angiogenesis in rats with cerebral ischemia. Methods 30 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:normal group, model group and EA group. After the establishment of acute middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO),the rats were treated with EA on DU20 and DU26.Then the expression of bFGF,Ang-2 and Tie-2 by immunohistochemical staining was ob- served. Results The expression of bFGF and Ang-2 around the infarction locus of EA group increased remarkably compared with normal group and model group and the increase of Tie-2 was not significant. Conclusion EA can increase the expression of bFGF and Ang-2 around the infarction locus and promote the angiogenesis in rats with cere- bral ischemia.

Based on the results of the morphologic studies on genus Dioscorea, the paper summarized the entire chemical constituent that isolated from this genus and analyzed it with the methods of chemotaxonomy. The rules of the chemical constituent and pharmacodynamic effects were analyzed. Seventeen species which belong to Sect. Stenophora Uline of Dioscorea contain steroidal sapogenin. Other species with different main components such as polysaccharide and tannin have have different effects. This chemotaxonomic view point will conduce to establish a phylogeny of the genus Dioscorea.

Microbiology 1992;0(05):-
The potential of Rhizobium sp. N613 to produce the exopolysaccharide (REPS) was studied in this paper. Using an orthogonal design in a flask-shaker culture system, the fermentation medium and conditions of synthesizing REPS were optimized. Based on these results, the fermentation kinetic parameters were obtained in the batch fermentation with a 10L fermentor. The REPS yield of 11.31g/L was achieved by metabolic regulation during 40 h fed-batch fermentation. Transplanted tumor models of sarcoma 180 in mice were used to evaluate the anti-tumor effect. The result of anti-tumor activities showed that inhibition rate was 53.40%, when dose of REPS was 5mg/kg. These results indicate that REPS has the following properties: the short duration of fermentation, the high yield, the low cost, the effective immunocompetence and thickening. Thus, REPS has the value of development and application.
