Objective:To observe the curative effect of cervical chiropractic for cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type (CSA) and to explore its possible mechanism.Methods:Sixty CSA patients were randomly divided into two groups.Thirty patients in the treatment group were treated with chiropractic manipulation for cervical vertebrae,once every other day,7 treatments in total.The other 30 patients in the control group received oral administration of flunarizine hydrochloride,10 mg per night,for 14 d.Cervical vertigo and functional assessment scale and transcranial cerebral Doppler (TCD) were measured before treatment and 7 days after treatment.Results:The total effective rate was 96.7％ in the treatment group and 83.3％ in the control group.The curative rate was 66.7％ in the treatment group and 20％ in the control group.The differences between the two groups in the total effective rate and the curative rate were statistically significant (both P＜0.05).The scores of cervical vertigo symptom and functional assessment after treatment in both groups were significantly higher than those before treatment (both P＜0.01);the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P＜0.05).After treatment,the maximum systolic velocity (Vs),the maximum diastolic velocity (Vd),the mean velocity (Vm),the pulsatility index (PI) and the vascular resistance index (RI) in both groups were significantly improved compared with those before the treatment (all P＜0.01);there were significant differences between the two groups (all P＜0.05).Conclusion:Cervical chiropractic is an effective method for CSA,and its curative effect is better than that of flunarizine hydrochloride alone.Its mechanism may relate to correcting cervical instability.

Objective To establish a method for determination of 2-chloroacetamide in cosmetics. Methods The gas chromatography method had been developed for determination of 2-chloroacetamide in cosmetics. Samples were solved with ethanol treated with ultrasonic homogenization centrifuge separated by HP-INNWax column determined by FID. Results The 2-chloroacetamide concentration had a better linear range in the range of 0.0-10.0 mg/ml. The minimum detection limit was below 0.01 ?g. The relative standard deviation was less than 5.6% and the recovery rates were 90%-100% respectively. Conclusion This method is simple fast and sensitive.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the impact of 1, 25-(OH)2D3 on left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in type 2 diabetic rats.

METHODSType 2 diabetic mellitus (DM) model rats were established by intraperitoneally injecting with 30 mg/kg streptozotocin. After 8 weeks, 19 male rats were identified as diabetic with left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) by ultrasound examination, and randomly assigned into three groups: untreated (DM-LVH, n=7), treated with insulin (DM-LVH+INS, n=6), and treated with 1, 25-(OH)2D3 (DM-LVH+VD, n=6). Healthy male rats were used as the controls group (n=6). The fasting blood glucose and the insulin level were determined weekly. The left ventricular mass index, myocardial collagen content, collagen volume fraction, and 1, 25-(OH)2D3-receptor level were determined by 4 weeks later.

RESULTSIn the DM-LVH model group, the insulin level was significantly decreased compared with the non-diabetic control group (P<0.05), whereas the blood glucose, left ventricular mass index, myocardial collagen content, collagen volume fraction, and 1, 25-(OH)2D3-receptor expression were significantly increased (all P<0.05). In the DM-LVH+INS and DM-LVH+VD groups, the insulin levels were significantly increased compared with the DM-LVH model group (P<0.05), whereas the other parameters were significantly decreased (all P<0.05).

CONCLUSION1, 25-(OH)2D3 could reverse LVH in diabetic rats and that the mechanism may involve stimulating insulin secretion and reducing blood glucose via direct up-regulation of 1, 25-(OH)2D3-receptor expression.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyelolithotomy ( RLP) combined with holmium laser lithotripsy under flexible cystoscopy in the treatment of complicated nephrolithiasis. Methods The retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of 37 patients who underwent RLP and holmium laser lithotripsy under flexible cystoscopy for complicated nephrolithiasis from January 2013 to January 2014. The clinic parameters involved basic data of patients,operational time,blood loss,post-operative hospital stay,the status of stone-free,perioperative complications,and the follow-up data of patients were observed. Results No patient was converted to open surgery. The mean stone size was (2. 8 ± 0. 9) cm in diameter,operational time was (89 ± 24) min,blood loss was (21. 3 ± 7. 7) mL,post-operative hospital stay was (6. 8 ± 1. 7) d,the stone removal rate in one session was 94. 6%. One case occurred urinary leakage,1 case occurred fever after operation,who were all recovered through conservative treatment. All cases were followed up at the sixth months after operation. Conclusion RLP combined with holmium laser lithotripsy under flexible cystoscopy is effective and safe for the treatment of com-plicated nephrolithiasis.

Background Currently,the recommendation when treating acute biliary or pancreatic disease during pregnancy is to perform endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) without radiation exposure,either empirically (with no radiographic guidance) or with ultrasound guidance.However,few published studies compared these two ways.This study aimed to compare ultrasound-guided ERCP with the procedure without radiographic guidance in the treatment of acute pancreaticobiliary disease in pregnant patients.Methods The clinical data of 68 pregnant patients with acute pancreaticobiliary disease admitted to our hospital between January 2004 and May 2010 were reviewed retrospectively.ERCP was performed without radiographic guidance in 36 cases (group A) and with ultrasound guidance in 32 cases (group B).Data on the following variables were compared between the two groups:surgical success rate,rate of complete stone removal,time to resolution of clinical manifestations and laboratory indicators,length of hospital stay,complications,outcome and differences in efficacy of ERCP during different stages of pregnancy.Results In group A,the rates of surgical success and complete removal of stones were 69％ and 60％,respectively; the corresponding values were 91％ and 89％ in group B (P ＜0.05).Postoperatively,clinical manifestations improved rapidly in all patients; there was no statistically significant difference between the groups (P ＞0.05).Leukocyte counts and liver function had improved significantly after one week in all patients; they recovered more quickly in group B ((8.64±1.83)days vs.(14.57±3.74) days,(14.29±4.64) days vs.(20.00±5.40) days,P ＜0.01).The hospital stay was shorter in group B ((16.28±7.25) days vs.(28.00±6.83) days,P＜0.001).The complication rate was 14％ in group A and 3％ in group B (P ＜0.05).There were no significant differences between the two groups in the procedure's efficacy during different stages of pregnancy.Conclusions In the treatment of acute pancreaticobiliary disease during pregnancy,ultrasound-guided ERCP is safer and more effective than performing the procedure empirically without radiographic guidance when performed by experienced practitioners.Its more widespread use is recommended.

To design and synthesize the hepatic targeting anticancer prodrug with norcantharidin (NCTD-Gal) conjugating structure, galactosylated NCTD derivatives were synthesized from NCTD analogues modified by a series of amino acids via acylation, hydrolysis, glycosylation and deacetylation. Seven new compounds were synthesized as beta-O-glycosides and characterized by IR, MS, NMR and element analysis. The compound 4a was chosen for the inchoate antitumor experiments on mice. The result showed that the antitumor inhibition rate of 4a groups with medium and high dose are clearly higher than that of NCTD group, which suggests that anticancer effect of NCTD is improved at a certain degree by galactosylation.

ObjectiveTo explore the feasibility of mediating recipient lymphocyte reaction with donor dendritic cells (DCs) in renal allograft recipients to guide individualized inmunosuppressive therapy. Methods From Jan. 2008 to Jan. 2010, 30 recipients received living related kidney transplantation were successively and divided into 2 groups according to the strategies of the correction of the dosage of immunosuppressant, 15 in each group. The strategy of immunosuppressive therapy in both groups was Tac + MMF + Pred. The correction of the dosage of immunosuppressant in experimental group was conducted by recipient lymphocyte reaction with donor DC (LR) combined with Tac and MPA blood concentration monitoring. Only blood concentration monitoring of drugs was applied in control group. Examinations of liver and renal function, blood and urine routine as well as blood sugar were done monthly for 1 year. ResultsDuring the follow-up period, the rate of acute rejection in experimental group and control group was 13. 3 ％ and 46. 7 ％ respectively (P＜0. 05) ;the rate of infection in experimental group and control group was 6. 7％ and 40. 0％ (P＜0. 05)respectively; the adverse reaction rate in experimental group and control group was 13. 3％ and 46. 7％(P＜0. 05). There was no significant difference in the serum creatinine level between the two groups at each observation point. ConclusionThe application of combined recipient LR with donor DC and blood concentration monitoring of drugs in individualized irnmunosuppressive therapy is more comprehensive and accurate.
