1.Detailed research project management and boosting hospital disciplines

Since 2007,in order to comply with the hospital's strategic development and construction of the subjects,our hospital treat the research project management as the starting point,through the establishment of a sound project management and funding approaches; strengthen project process management,implement the total quality control; use of information technology tools to improve project management effectiveness.After several years of implementation,the number of our hospital's research projects above provincial and ministerial level has gradually increased,manyhigh level of SCI papers are emerging,and discipline construction has also been effectively carried out,all of which have promotedour research strength,the development of medical teaching and research.Therefore,we will continue to strengthen project management,and fully mobilize the initiative staff awareness of service,make full use of scientific information systems in future scientific research management to boost hospital disciplines.
2.Treatment of Protrusion of Cervical Intervertebral Disc with Tuina Therapy plus Acupuncture

In application of the bone-setting Tuina therapy plus acupuncture on Jiaji ( Ex-B 2 ), Tianzong ( SI11), Jianyu (LU 15), Quchi (LI 11), Waiguan (TE5)and Hegu ( LI 4) in the treatment of 8 cases of protrusion of cervical intervertebral disc, all the symptoms disappeared and the movements were free after treatments in the patients.

4.Feasibility study on the treatment for brain metastases of lung cancer via intensity-modulated radiotherapy combined with simultaneous integrated boost

Background and purpose:The incidence of lung cancer with brain metastasis tends to go up. The technique of intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) with simultaneous integrated boost (SIB) for tumor bed is a new treatment choice for patients with brain metastasis. This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of IMRT combined with SIB for tumor bed in the treatment of brain metastases of lung cancer by exploring its short-term clinical effect and treatment-related toxicities.Methods:Thirty-two patients who were diagnosed as having lung cancer with 1-4 brain metastases were prospectively collected. All the brain metastases were treated with whole brain 5 ifelds IMRT (40 Gy/20 f) combined with SIB (50 Gy/20 f). The dosage distribution within the target volume and dose-volume histogram were evaluated. Meanwhile, the overall response rate of radiotherapy, thelocal tumor control rate, 1-year survival rate, treatment-related acute and late toxicities were also calculated.Results:All patients were treated with IMRT successfully. The rate of Grade 2 vomitting, nausea, epilepsy was 9.4%, 15.6%, and 12.5%, respectively. Two cases had Grade 2 cognitive impairment, 4 cases had Grade 2 memory injury, and 2 cases had Grade 3 memory injury. There were no any Grade 4 events of acute and late toxicities. The overall response rate of radiotherapy was 71.9%. The local tumor control rate was 96.9%, and 1-year survival rate was 44%.Conclusion:It is feasible to use 5 ifelds IMRT (40 Gy/20 f) combined with SIB (boosting 10 Gy, i.e. total dose 50 Gy/20 f) for the treatment of brain metastases of lung cancer.

6.Comprehensive Treatment of Prolapse of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc

To search for the best method in treating prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc, the cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc were treated by Tuina plus acupuncture. The cure rate was high, the course of treatment was short and the effect was satisfactory. Tuina can relax muscles and tendons,promote the blood circulation, acupuncture can warm the meridians to disperse cold pathogen, promote the blood circulation to remove blood stasis, and the combination of these two treatments can enhance the therapeutic effect.
7.Comparison on Gene Expression Profile of Periphery CD_4~+ Positive Cells in Active and Stable Stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Objective To explore the difference of gene profile between Cold syndrome and Heat syndrome in traditional Chinese medicine in stable and active stage of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods Peripheral CD4+ lymphocytes from RA cases with defined Cold or Heat syndrome in TCM and healthy persons were obtained. Genechip analytical techniques were applied for analysis. Results There are 63 genes found different between active stage and stable stage of RA patients, and they refer to immune responses and signal transduction mainly. 48 genes were found different between Cold syndrome and Heat syndrome in stable stage of RA patients, and only 4 gene was found in the 63 genes for stable and active stage comparison, they are mainly referring to functional metabolism. 59 genes were found to be different among Cold syndrome and Heat syndrome in active stage of RA patients, and among them, no gene was same as in the 48 genes for Cold and Heat syndrome comparison in stable stage of RA, nor in the 63 genes for stable and active stage comparison. Conclusion The genes referred with Cold or Heat syndrome in the stable and active stage of RA are different with those genes referring to the difference of gene profile between active stage and active stage of RA, and further suggest that differentiation theory in traditional Chinese medicine have solid foundation in gene expression profile.
10.Study Progress of Diagnosis and Treatment of Myocardial Damage in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

The diagnosis of myocardial damage in systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) is mainly based on clinical symptoms,physical examinations and electrocardiographic abnormality,echocardiographic changes,and myocardial enzymologic diversity in general.In recent years,it has been suggested that cardiac troponin I possesses high sensitivity and specificity in the diagnosis of myocardial damage.Lupus myocardial damage is diagnosed definitively depending on endomyocardial biopsy.Its treatment has been empirical,and hormone combined with immunodepressive is routine treatment.According to pathogenetic condition,there are still several therapies such as intravenous immunoglobulin therapy,blood purification and autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation,extracorporeal membrane oxygenation,and so on.Most often,myocardial dysfunction in SLE is of subclinical progression,and that early diagnosis and prompt treatment may play an important role in relieving patients' condition,raising quality of life and improving prognosis.
