NuclearfactorκB(NF-κB)isanimportanttranscriptionfactorinmammaliancells.Asa multifunctional factor,NF-κB is involved in a variety of physiological and pathological processes such as immu-nity and inflammation .At the molecular and cellular level,NF-κB regulates initiation and progression of neo-plasms.NF-κB also plays an important role in cell proliferation and apoptosis of neoplasms.Radiotherapy is one of the most important methods in tumor treatment .In recent years,a number of studies discovered that NF-κB is critical in the development of resistance of tumor cells to radiotherapy, which results in poor progno-sis.We can use NF-κB as a biomarker in predicting outcomes of anticancer treatment or as prognostic indicators in patients who are with tumors. So we can find different potential inhibitors aimed at NF-κB and its signal pathway in order to improve the efficacy of radiotherapy. In the present study, the correlation of NF-κB mole-cules with radiotherapy of neoplasms is reviewed.

Objective To express the recombinant protein VP1-Z, and investigate whether VLP-Z has the physiological functions like as wild-type VLP. Methods The expression plasmid pET15b-VP1-Z was introduced into competent E. coil BL21 (DF3)/pLys cells by transformation, and the expression of re-combinant protein VP1-Z was induced by incubation of the cells with IPTG. The protein was prepared as pre-viously described for wild-type VLP. The morphous of VLP-Z were observed by electron microscopy, and the physiological functions of VLP-Z were investigated by hemagglutination test and by immunofluorescence. Re-sults The purified VLP-Z composed of VP1-Z possessed hemagglutination activity and yielded a prominent band of 50×10~3 on SDS-PAGE and staining with Coomassie Brilliant Blue. The VLP-Z exhibited virus-like particles structure like as wild-type VLP with a diameter of 45-50 nm, which was slightly bigger than that of wild-type VLP(42-45 nm). In immunofluorescence test, VP1-Z was detected within the cytoplasm and nu-cleus after HeLa cells were inoculated with VLP-Z. Conclusion The physiological functions of recombinat-ed protein VLP-Z were comparable with wild-type VLP.

OBJECTIVE:
To develop a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) screening method for 45 poisonous alkaloids in blood.
METHODS:
Identification was based on the compound's retention time and two precursor-to-production transitions. The method involved a liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) followed by LC-MS/MS with multiple-reaction monitoring (MRM). When 1 mL of blood was extracted with diethyl ether at pH = 9.2 with SKF525A as the internal standard, the target compounds were analyzed with LC-MS/MS in the positive ionization mode.
RESULTS:
The target alkaloids had good linearity (r>0.995 1), both the intra-day precision and inter-day precision being less than 14.77%. The limits of detection ranged from 0.05 to 25 ng/mL in blood.
CONCLUSION
The method is selective and sensitive in detecting poisonous alkaloids with a total running time of 12 minutes; therefore it was successfully applied to some actual cases of suspected alkaloids poisoning.

10.Combined injection of pingyangmycin & dexamethasone for the treatment of maxillofacial and cervical venous malformations.
Chinese Journal of Plastic Surgery 2012;28(3):168-171
OBJECTIVETo investigate the therapeutic effect of combined injection of pingyangmycin (PYM) & dexame thasone (DXM) for the treatment of maxillofacial and cervical venous malformations.
METHODSFrom August 1995 to October 2008, 116 cases with maxillofacial and cervical venous malformations were retrospectively analyzed. The injection dilute was made with PYM 8 mg, DXM 10 mg and 2% lidocaine 2.0 ml (PYM 2 mg/ml). The PYM diluent 1.0-4.0 ml (including the PYM 2-8 mg) was injected into the tumor according to the patients age, tumor size and location. For children, PYM 2-4 mg was injected for one treatment. The needle should be inserted into tumor perpendicularly or from the edge of tumor. After withdrawing blood, the drug was injected into the tumor slowly. The injection could be repeated every 7-10 days. The clinical signs were recorded; ultrasonography and chest X-ray were performed to evaluate the therapeutic effect.
RESULTS1-5 treatments of injection were performed in the 116 patients. The tumor shrinked and disappeared after treatment with PYM 2-40 mg and DXM 5-50 mg. The patients were followed up for 3-5 years with no occurrence and complication.
CONCLUSIONSIt's safe, effective and practical to treat maxillofacial and cervical venous malformations by combined injection of PYM and DXM. The cosmetic appearance and function can be preserved at the most.
