The incidence of pancreatic cancer is gradually increasing worldwide. The overall 5-year survival rate of pancreatic cancer is about 5%, because the early diagnosis is difficult and the radical resection rate is low in pancreatic cancer. The keys of improving the poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer are early diagnosis and radical resection. Detection of serum tumor markers has an important utility in the diagnosis, prognosis and surveillance of pancreatic cancer. CA19-9 is the most widely used and best validated serum tumor marker for pancreatic cancer although it has some limits. With the development of molecular biological techniques in recent years, several potential serum tumor markers for pancreatic cancer are undergoing evaltation, including MIC- 1, M2- PK, OPN, RCAS1, and so on. This paper is to review the current status of serum tumor markers of pancreatic cancer.

OBJECTIVE:To observe clinical efficacy and safety of Brucea javanica oil combined with gemcitabine and cisplat-in in the treatment of advanced non small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). METHODS:Totally 131 advanced NSCLC patients selected from Huanggang Hospital of TCM during Feb. 2014 to Jan. 2016 were divided into observation group(71 cases)and control group (60 cases)according to random number table. Control group was given Gemcitabine for injection(1st and 8th day)+Cisplatin injec-tion (2nd day),every 21 days,twice as a treatment course. Observation group was additionally given Breucea javanica oil oral emulsion 20 mL,po,2-3 times/d,for consecutive 14 d (3 days before chemotherapy). Both groups received treatment for 87 d and followed up until Jul. 1,2016. Clinical efficacy,the levels of T cell subsets (CD3+,CD4+,CD8+),survival time were ob-served in 2 groups. Single factor and multiple factor analysis was conducted for survival time. The occurrence of ADR was record-ed. RESULTS:The total response rate of observation group (32.39%) was higher than that of control group (25.00%),without statistical significance(P>0.05). Before treatment,there was no statistical significance in the levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD8+ be-tween 2 groups(P>0.05). After treatment,the levels of CD3+ and CD4+ in observation group were increased significantly,while CD8+ level was decreased significantly;there was statistical significance compared to control group at corresponding period (P<0.05). Four patients withdrew from the study in observation group and 3 patients in control group. The survival time of observation group [(14.02 ± 4.10) months] was longer than control group [(13.21 ± 5.22) months],without statistical significance (P>0.05). Single factor analysis showed that the survival time of patients aged <70 were significantly longer than those of patients aged ≥70;those of patients with pleural effusion were significantly shorter than those of patients without pleural effusion;there was statis-tical significance (P<0.05). Multiple factor analysis showed that with or without pleural effusion,age were influential fac-tors for survival time of patients with advanced NSCLC(OR=1.685 and 0.647,P=0.012 and 0.043). There was no statistical significance in the incidence of ADR between observation group (50.70%) and control group (53.33%)(P>0.05). CONCLU-SIONS:Brucea javanica oil combined with gemcitabine and cisplatin in the treatment of advanced NSCLC patients,although not significantly improve the therapeutic effect,but can significantly improve the cellular immune function. With or without pleural effu-sion and age are infuential facters for survival time of advanced NSCLC patients.

The endophytic microorganisms found widely in many kinds of plants mediate various effects to theirs hosts. In this study, seven different dominant endophytes (SDE01 to 07) isolated from a Hy-peraccumulator-Solanum nigrum L. were resistant to Cd2+, and the strain SDE06 survived even in the medium containing 80 mg/L of Cd2+. Bacteria strain SDE06 was identified as Bacillus sp.. The removal of Cd2+ of SDE06 in different conditions were studied. Under the optimal conditions, the incubating time was 36 h, the solution pH 6.0, the temperature was 37?C and the Cd2+ concentration of medium was 20 mg/L, the highest removal rate was up to 80.2% at this condition.

Objective To study the effect of antiapoptosis factors PED/PEA-15 and XIAP on prostate cancer cells(PC-3)apoptosis.Methods The expressions of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 in prostate cancer cells(PC-3)were respectively assayed using the RT-PCR technique.XIAP and PED/ PEA-15 specific siRNA vectors were designed and constructed and then were transiently cotransfected into PC-3 cells under induction of liposome.The effects of siRNA vectors on PED/PEA-15 and XIAP transcription were assayed by RT-PCR technique,and the effect of XIAP and PED/PEA-15 on cancer cell apoptosis were determined by flow cytometry and microscope observation.Results PED/PEA- 15 and XIAP were both highly expressed in PC-3 cells.Enzyme digestion analysis and DNA sequencing confirmed that the PED/PEA-15 and XIAP-specific siRNA expression vectors were constructed successfully.The designed siRNA sequences of PED/PEA-15 and XIAP could specifically inhibit their transcription.The PC-3 cells which were cotransfected with PED/PEA-15 and XIAP- specific siRNA vectors were more sensitive to doxorubicin.The apoptosis rate of cotransfected cells was significantly increased.Conclusions PED/PEA-15 and XIAP might be involved in the development of prostate cancer.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the causes of delayed union or nonunion of the ulna after intramedullary nailing in pediatric forearm fractures.

METHODSFrom February 2005 to February 2010,5 patients with forearm fractures who were treated with titanium elastic nailing (TEN) were identified to fulfill the criteria of having developed a delayed union or nonunion of the ulna. The causes of delayed union or nonunion were investigated according to mechanism of injury, fracture location, treatments methods and postoperative management. All patients were male and the age was 3 to 14 years old with an average of 9.4 years. All fractures were located on the mid-third part of forearm. Two cases had a re-fracture. Among them, 3 cases caused by high-energy injury and 2 cases by falling down. Open reduction were performed in 4 cases while the other one was treated with closed reduction. Four patients were immobilized in an above-elbow cast, postoperatively.

RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 7 to 19 months with an average of 11.4 months. There were 4 delayed union and 1 nonunion. Three patients healed after the removal of the nail and avoidance of weight-bearing. Two patients healed by replacing another fixation. No patients had soft-tissue irritation or nail-entry-site infections.. The clinical effect was evaluated according to Daruwalla and Price scores with 3 excellent and 2 good of the results.

CONCLUSIONSUsing titanium elastic nailing for the treatment of pediatric both-bone forearm fractures is a good method. However,strict indication selection should be followed to avoid delayed union or nonunion.

OBJECTIVE To explore the clinical effect of tonsil temperature-controlled bipolar radiofrequency ablation technology in the treatment of snoring and mild-moderate-obstructive sleep apnea hyponea syndrome(OSAHS). METHODS Forty-six patients were selected,of which 17 were snoring and 29 were mild-moderate-obstructive sleep apnea-hyponea syndrome cases. Tonsil temperature-controlled bipolar radiofrequency with varying probes was used for all patients. RESULTS A follow-up of 6～18 months was carried out. 9 of 17 snoring cases resulted in recovery. The procedure was effective in 6 cases and not effective in 2 cases. 15 of 29 OSAHS cases resulted in recovery. The procedure was effective in 10 cases and not effective in 4 cases. Objective To explore the ability for constructing tissue engineering bone in vivo in complex scaffolds with PHB‐HHx as the scaffolds material and human umbilical cord mensenchymal stem cells (hUCMCs) as the seed cells .Methods hUCM‐SCs were inoculated into PHBHHx scaffolds to induce osteogenesis culture in vivo for two weeks ,the the induced group was the experimental group and those without instilling hUCMCs served as the control group ,the nude mouse subcutaneous implantation was performed .Then taking material at 1 ,3 ,5 months after implantation in vivo was performed for conducting HE ,collagenⅠim‐munohistochemical ,alkaline phosphatase staining and RT‐PCR .Results hUCMSCs showed good cellular adsorbability .The size and form in the experimental group basically maintained the original status ,and the osteogenesis specific indicators were positive ;but the control group did not keek the original status ,its volume was gradually shrunk until complete degradation ,and the osteogen‐esis specific indicators were negative .Conclusion The PHBHHx scaffolds combined with hUCMSCs has the capability of in vivo heterotopic constructing tissue engineering bone in nude mouse by in vitro osteogenic induction .
