1.Mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets for children with allergic rhinitis: a randomized controlled trial
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2021;19(6):419-424
Objective: To explore the efficacy of mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets for children with allergic rhinitis (AR).Methods: A total of 80 children were randomized into a control group and an observation group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with loratadine tablets, and the observation group was treated with mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets. Before and after treatment, the total nasal symptom score (TNSS) was evaluated, and the serum eosinophils (EOS) count, and the interleukin (IL)-27 and macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) levels were measured. Clinical efficacy was evaluated after treatment. Results: The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the TNSS in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the TNSS in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05); the serum EOS count in both groups decreased (P<0.05), and the serum EOS count in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the control group had no statistical difference compared with the same group before treatment (P>0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05). The serum IL-27 level in the observation group increased after treatment (P<0.05), and the serum MIF level decreased after treatment (P<0.05), and were both statistically different from those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Mild moxibustion plus loratadine tablets is effective in treating children with AR. It can significantly improve the nasal symptoms and reduce the serum EOS count, which may be related to the regulation of the serum IL-27 and MIF levels.

OBJECTIVETo explore causes of shoulder pain and propose prevention measures in treating acromioclavicular joint dislocation.
METHODSFrom January 2005 to January 2013, 86 patients with acromioclavicular joint dislocation (Tossy III) were treated with hook plate fixation, and were divided into two groups. Bsaed on recovery of shoulder function mostly, the patients who suffered from rest pain, motion pain were named as shoulder pain group, while the patients without pain were named as painless group. In shoulder pain group, there were 21 cases including 15 males and and 6 females ranging the age from 22 to 62 years old with an average of (40.6±11.2) years old. There were 8 cases were on the left side and 13 cases were on the right side. In painless group, there were 65 cases including 36 males and and 29 females ranging the age from 19 to 65 years old with an average of (40.0±11.3) years old. There were 33 cases were on the left side and 32 cases were on the right side. The time from injury to operation ranged from 3 h to 8 d with an average of 34.6 h. Shoulder function of all patients were normal before injuried. Postoperative pain, activity of daily living (ADL), range of motion, deltoid muscle strength were compared. Anteflexion, rear protraction, abduction and upthrow of shoulder joint were also compared. Postoperative complications between two groups were observed and compared.
RESULTSAll patients were followed up from 12 to 48 months with an average of 18.5 months. Constant-Murley score were used to evaluate clinical efficacy at the least following up, and 13 cases got an excellent results, 5 moderate, 2 good and 1 poor in shoulder pain group ; while 61 cases were obtained excellent results, 3 moderate and 1 good in painless group. There were significantly differences between two groups in Constant-Murley score and activity of shoulder joint (P<0.05). In shoulder pain group, 3 cases were disconnected, 1 case occurred stress fracture, 9 cases were subacromial impingement syndrome, 5 cases occurred subluxation, 1 case occurred plate breakage and 11 cases were acromioclavicular arthritis.
CONCLUSIONChosing individual clavicular hook plate, fulfilling anatomic reset, paying attention to the repair of articular capsule ligament, and reducing hook and bone antagonism between stress is the key point of preventing and decreasing postoperative shoulder pain.

Referring to the rapid developed life science and the higher requirements for the approval of innovative Chinese drugs in recent years, this paper described systematically the discovery, research and development (R&D) approaches for the innovative Chinese drugs under the new situation from the following five aspects, i. e., active components discovered from TCMs, the discovery of effective fractions of TCMs and their formulae, the R&D of TCM innovative drugs based on famous classic prescriptions and famous Chinese patent drugs, and the transformation of clinical effective prescriptions, on the basis of analysing the advantages of innovative drugs derived from natural products based on TCM theories and the problems existed in current R&D of new TCM drugs. Moreover, five suggestions are also given for the rapid development of TCM innovative drugs in China. All these will provide reference for the R&D of TCM innovative drugs.

International Eye Science 2010;10(8):1467-1468
AIM:To evaluate the availability and our experience of intraoperative image-guidance in endoscopic nasocular operation.METHODS:Seven cases of endoscopic nasal surgery with intraoperative image-guidance were retropectively reviewed, including 3 cases of optic nerve injury;3 cases of foreign object of optic behind the eyeball;1 case of retrobulbar tumor(angeioma).RESULTS:The preoperative preparatory time would take 15 minutes, including coordination, head holder localization, conventional instrument registration. In our cases, the localization accuracy between 3-D image landmarks of navigation system and actual anatomical landmarks was less than 1.3mm.The optic nerve and other anatomical points could be orientated accurately in intraoperative procedures. No complication occurred.CONCLUSION:Nasal endoscope combined with imageguidance systems provides accurate anatomical localization of anterior skull base with enlarged operation field. It is possible for surgeons to observe important anatomical structures during endoscopic surgery. It could increase the effectiveness and decrease surgical complications, especially in complicated cases.

Objective To investigate the clinical value of 18 F-FDG PET CT scan in the diagnosis of thin lung nodules. Methods 56 solitary cases of nodules in the lungs, nodule size ranged from 1~3 cm,conducted 18 F-FDG PET/CT imaging and thin layer CT scan at the same time, 18 F-FDG PET imaging using visual measurement combined with semi-quantitative method to determine the degree of malignant of the lesions; conducted MPR recon-struction after thin layer CT scan, based on the lesions morphology to determine the degree of malignant. Then com-pared the results of above, and the results of the combination of 18 F-FDG PET imaging and thin layer CT scan, with the pathological results after surgery. Results The sensitivities of PET imaging alone, thln layer CT alone, joint ima-ging diagnosis of SPN are 92.6% ,88.2% ,96.4% ,specificity are 73.3% ,57.1% ,85.7% ,accuracy percentage rate are 89.3% ,80.4% ,94.6% ,the positive predictive values are 92.6% ,91.8% ,96.4% ,and negative predictive val-ues are 84.6% ,61.5% ,92.3% ,respectively. Conclusion 18 F-FDG PET combined with thin layer CT scanning is a very effective method to clinical diagnosis the malignant degree of SPN.
