Clinical risk index for babies( CRIB) is applied in low birth weight preterm neonates to assess the initial severity of illness,predict mortality risk rates,evaluate their own performance,and audit the performance between different medical institutions.CRIB plays an important role in the progressive develop-ment of neonatology.The scoring rules and advantagse of CRIB scorni g system were introud ced in this arti-cle.Teh scoring system is able to correctly predict mortaliyt probabilities and long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes for low birth weight preterm infants.

OBJECTIVEE23K polymorphism in KCNJ11 gene is associated with cardiovascular disease and diabetes. In order to explore the mechanism of E23K correlation to related diseases, the effect of E23K polymorphism in KCNJ11 gene on membrane current was investigated.

METHODSThe exon of KCNJ11 was obtained by PCR amplification and the G-->A mutation was completed by overlap extension PCR. The sequences of KCNJ11 exon contained 23E or 23K was inserted into pcDNA3.1/CT-GFP vector respectively. The recombinant plasmid, pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(E) and pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(K), were transfected into HEK293T cells by lipofectamine and the membrane current density was determined by whole-cell patch clamp technique.

RESULTS1,173 bp sequences of KCNJ11 gene's exon were amplified by PCR and the recombinant expression plasmid, pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(E) and pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(K), were constructed successful. Positive and negative currents were detected in HEK293T cells transfected with difference plasmid by whole-cell patch clamp technique. Results showed that the reversed voltage was 50mV. The current in HEK293T cells with pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(E) was significantly greater than that with pcDNA3.1-KCNJ11(K) (P < 0.05, n = 10).

CONCLUSIONThe polymorphism of E23K in exon of KCNJ11 gene changed the membrane currents in HEK293T cells. It could be an experiment support for the possible mechanism between the locus and related diseases.

Objective To investigate the duration for silicon gastric tube to indwell in stomach of aged patients.Methods One hundred elderly patients needing long-term nutrition support were equally randomized into two groups: control group and observation group.The former had the gastric tubes indwelled in the stomach for 4 weeks and the latter for 3 weeks.The two groups were compared about the used tubes in terms of the color of tube at the length of the first 10cm,the indentation by reflection for 10 seconds at the tube of first 10 cm,the hardness of the tube at the length of the first 10 cm and the springback angle of tube at the first 10cm after reflection.Results The tubes in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group in terms of color,indentation,hardness and springback angle(all P<0?01).Conclusion The duration of indwelling silicon gastric tubes in stomach can be three weeks for old patients needing long-term nutrition support via indwelling silicon tubes in their stomach.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the relationship between hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) gene polymorphism and aerobic endurance.

METHODSThe (CA)n repeats polymorphism genotypes in HSL intro 6 of 123 outstanding long distance runners and 127 controls of Han nationality in northern China were analyzed by PCR and Fluorescence labeled STR-genescan. Repeat polymorphisms were grouped according to segmentation point and alleles were divided into long or short chains. Chi-square test was used to analyze the frequency difference of allelic and genotypic between athlete and control groups.

RESULTS(CA) n repeats polymorphism in HSL gene was total of 9 different repeat number of alleles, which composed of 25 different genotypes. The chi-square test result showed that when compared short and long chain alleles split by 4, there was a significant difference (P <0.05) of genotype distribution in 5/10 km group compared with control. Compared the rest groups with control, there was no significant difference.

CONCLUSIONCompared short and long chain alleles split by 4, the LL genotype of (CA)n of HSL was associated with aerobic endurance and it might be a molecular marker of elite 5/10 km long distance runners.

Objective To evaluate the influences of FBP and OSEM (with different iteration numbers or subset numbers) on cardiac function parameters with MPI,and to identify a suitable clinical method.Methods The MPI of 66 patients (33 males,33 females,age range: 18-77 years) from January 2012 to December 2014 were retrospectively analyzed.The imaging data was reconstructed with FBP and 5 different OSEM (4-16 subsets and 2-4 iterations) in order to evaluate if there was any difference of cardiac function parameters calculated by QGS between the different image processing methods.In addition,the results were compared with those of cardiac ultrasonography.One-way analysis of variance was used for data analysis.Results The statistical differences of LVEF,EDV,and ESV(F values: 10.73,4.89 and 5.97,all P<0.05) were found among 6 reconstructed methods.The values of LVEF were (66.14±11.12)％,(75.05±12.10)％,(70.09±11.27)％,(66.88±10.38)％,(64.97±10.25)％,and (62.58±9.84)％.Those of EDV were (77.32±27.58),(67.97±27.56),(75.10±27.89),(81.03±28.11),(84.94±29.07),and (89.98±29.71) ml,and the ESV values were (28.71±10.04),(19.71±16.51),(25.13±17.66),(29.01±18.47),(32.10±19.63),and (35.83±20.41) ml respectively.The cardiac function parameters measured by OSEM (with 2 iterations,12 subsets) were much similar to that measured by cardiac ultrasonography.Conclusion Compared with other 5 processing methods of MPI,the OSEM (with 2 iterations,12 subsets) method may be more suitable for practical clinical application.

Assessing dry weight accurately is crucial in providing effective and safe haemodialysis. Biases towards dry weight assessment may bring a series of dialysis complications. This study introduces an online detection technique of relative blood volume (RBV) based on ultrasound, which analyzes the correlation between changes in blood density and sound speed. By measuring the attenuation in sound velocity, this method was employed to calculate RBV, and then to evaluate the dry weight of patients on dialysis. TDC-GP2 time measurement chip and MSP430 Single-chip Microcontroller (SCM) were used in the system to measure the ultrasonic travel time. In the clinical trials, RBV values range between 71.3% and 108.1%, showing consistent result with Fresenius 4008S blood volume monitor (BVM). This detection method possesses several advantages, such as real time, convenient, reproducible, non-invasive, and etc.

Objective To investigate factors related to chronic pain in those injured with fractures 27 months after the Sichuan earthquake.The correlation between intensity of pain and quality of life was also analyzed.Methods A total of 705 victims were investigated on site.Their residual pain was categorized using a visual analogue scale (VAS) score as no pain,mild pain,moderate pain or severe pain.The pain-related biological,psychological and social factors were analyzed using the Barthel Index ( BI ),Life Satisfaction Questionaire-11 ( LiSat-11 )and the SF-36 health questionnaire. Rehabilitation and surgical interventions,employment,income and emotional status were also investigated. Results The incidence of chronic pain was 88.5％ in this population,of which mild pain and moderate pain were 35.7％ and 33.3％,respectively.The percentage of the victims who had received fracture surgery was 65.8％ ; the percentage of those who had recovered was 96.9％.BI scores for the victims without pain,with mild,moderate and severe pain were 92.7 + 10.2,92.8 + 8.4,91.2 ± 9.9 and 90.4 + 14.7,respectively ; the differences between these groups were all statistically insignificant.The influence of pain intensity on life satisfaction showed a significant linear trend.The percentages of the victims with restricted occupational ability in the four groups were 38.3％,61.5％,75.7％ and 62.8％ respectively.The median of personal annual income were ￥ 3550,￥ 2500,￥ 2000 and ￥ 2500.The VAS scores were significantly related to abnormal emotions,life satisfaction,employment and annual income.The subjects with different levels of residual pain also showed significant differences in the physical functioning,role-physical,bodily pain,general health,vitality,social functioning,role-emotional and mental health sub-scales of the SF-36.The total SF-36 scores were highest among victims without pain (70.6 + 17.5) and declined significantly in those with mild (61.3 + 14.3 ),moderate (52.7 + 14.3 ) and severe pain (52.3 + 14.7 ).This negative correlation between pain intensity and SF-36 total score was statistically significant. Conclusions Chronic pain remains common among fracture victims 27 months after the earthquake.Its intensity is correlated with psychological and social factors as well as quality of life.

This study was aimed to establish a method for simultaneous determination of seven anions and organic acids in Huo-Xue Tong-Luo (HXTL) injection by HPCE. With tartaric acid as the internal standard, separation was performed on an uncoated fused silica capillary (50 μm × 64. 5 cm, 56 cm of effective length). The 14 mmol·L-1 potassium acid phthalate and 0.1 mmol·L-1 hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium chloride were selected for the running buffer solution (pH 5.6). The separation voltage was -16 kV. The detection wavelength was set at 210 nm. The column temperature was maintained at 25 ℃ . The sample was injected at 50 mbar×4 s. The results showed that
calibration curves of chloride ion, sulfuric acid root ion, formate ions, malic acid, succinic acid, iodate ion and acetic acid ions showed good linear relationship 41.4-248.2 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 3), 12.5-74.8 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 8), 18.2-109.1 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 8), 20.3-121.6 μg·mL-1 (r = 0.999 5), 17.2-103.1 μg·mL-1 (r=0.999 1), 17.6-105.6μg·mL-1 (r=0.999 6), 51.6-309.6μg·mL-1 (r=0.999 7), respectively. The average recoveries were 102.6%, 97.3%, 102.2%, 99.0%, 99.2%, 97.8%, and 103.4%, respectively. The RSD were 1.7%, 2.0%, 1.6%, 2.6%, 2.1%, 2.9%, and 1.0%, respectively (n = 6). It was concluded that the method was accurate and reproducible. It was suitable for the determination of anions and organic acids in HXTL injection.
