International Eye Science 2014;(8):1555-1557
AIM: To compare and analyze the stereopsis of intermittent exotropia children under the different backgrounds of dynamic stimuli and static stimuli.
METHODS: We collected 56 children ( male 26, female 30 with intermittent exotropia at the age from 5y to 12y and examined their stereopsis under the different backgrounds of dynamic stimuli and static stimuli using a multidimensional sense perception training software. The differences between the dynamic stereopsis and static stereopsis were compared.
RESULTS: Totally 17 cases ( 30%) had both dynamicstereopsis and static stereopsis, 39 cases ( 70%) had either dynamic or static stereopsis deficit, only 10 cases ( 26%) had dynamic stereopsis, 25 cases ( 64%) static stereopsis left and 4 cases ( 10%) were without any form of stereopsis. The positive rate of dynamic stereopsis was better than the positive rate of static stereopsis, with statistical significance (P<0. 05).
CONCLUSION: Dynamicstereopsis is better than the static stereopsis to intermittent exotropia children.

Objective: Maxillary and mandible fractures are severe intermaxillary injuries, frequently involving other vital organs, and usually difficult to be treated. This study discusses the treatment of maxillary and mandible fractures. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 39 cases of maxillary fractures and/or mandible fractures. Results: Of the 39 cases,34 males,5 females and 84.64% aged from 20 to 50,87.17% were caused by vehicle accidents, and 94.87% were accompanied by injuries of other parts of the body. After surgical treatment,78.95% gained normal or basically normal ocular esthetic results and 68% achieved good or improved facial esthetic results. Conclusion: The results of treatment are closely related with the type and severity of fracture and the time and plan of treatment.Preoperative CT scanning and facial profile three-dimensional reconstruction are necessitated for a thorough evaluation of the fractures and an analysis of the causes and extent of facial and ocular changes. The best treatment plan for maxillary and/or mandible fractures would include anatomic reduction by surgery, intermaxillary elastic traction and rigid internal fixation with the Ti plate.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(04):-
Objective To detect genetic alterations in pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA), and to investigate the mechanism of development of this neoplasm. Methods Three patients with PXA were studied. Comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) was performed to study chromosomal imbalances in PXA. Using immunohistochemical analysis, the expression of EGFR was detected in PXA. Results Using CGH analysis, genetic imbalance was detected on at least one chromosome for each case. One patient revealed multiple genetic alterations, including gains of 2p14-pter, 4p15-pter, 7p21-qter, 11q24-qter, 12 and 15q14-qter,as well as losses of 8p11.2-pter, 9p11-p23, 10p12-pter, and 13q14-qter. This patient experienced tumor recurrence and died one year later. Gain on Chromosome 7 and loss on Chromosome 8p were demonstrated in 2 of the 3 patients. Immunohistochemically, no EGFR positive reaction was found in all cases. Conclusion Detection of genetic alterations is very important in understanding the pathogenesis of PXA.

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(Medical Science) 2006;0(02):-
Objective To investigate the value of thyroid transcription factor-1(TTF-1) in the diagnosis and biological behavior assessment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods Thirty liver specimens obtained from benign lesions were analysed, among which 25 were hepatic cirrhosis and inflammatory diseases, and the other 5 were adenomas. And there were 176 specimens of liver tumors, among which 142 were HCC (well differentiated, n=12; moderately differentiated, n=57; poorly differentiated, n=73), 17 were intrahepatic cholangiocellular carcinoma (ICC) and the other 17 were liver metastatic carcinoma (MC). The expression of TTF-1 was examined immunohistochemically in the above tissues, and the difference in expression of TTF-1 among different tissues was examined by Fisher's exact test, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman rank correlation analysis. Results TTF-1 was significantly expressed in the cytoplasms of all the hepatocytes besides tumors and liver benign lesions. The expression rate of TTF-1 in HCC was 78.9% (112/142), however, TTF-1 was negatively expressed in ICC and MC(P

Journal of Medical Postgraduates 2003;0(12):-
Objective: To evaluate different treatment methods for condylar fractures. Methods: Retrospective analyses were made of the clinical data of 56 cases of condylar fractures treated from January 1996 to December 2007.Results: Condylar fractures occurred mostly in males(82.14%),and 89.29% of the patients were aged 20-50 years.Traffic accidents accounted for 51.79% and falling 26.79% of the causes,48.21% of the cases accompanied with injuries of other parts of the body, and 89.29% restored to normal occlusion after surgical or non-surgical treatment. Conclusion: The effect of the treatment is related with the type and severity of the fractures, the choice of surgical indications and the standardization of treatment.A thorough evaluation of the fractures is necessitated. The best protocol for condylar fractures should be intermaxillary elastic traction, surgical anatomic reduction plus rigid internal fixation by Ti plate.

Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine 2009;29(2):143-147
OBJECTIVETo investigate the protective effects of Xiaoyan Lidan Pian extract (XLP) on restraint stress induced liver injury in mice.
METHODSLiver injury mouse model was established by restraint stress. Sixty mice were equally divided into 6 groups, the normal control group, the model group, the Thiopronin group, and the three XLP groups treated with low (125 mg/kg), moderate (250 mg/kg) and high dose (500 mg/kg) XLP respectively. Effect of various treatments was evaluated by assessing alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in plasma; malondialdehyde (MDA) content in liver by thiobarbituric acid method; content of nitric oxide (NO) by Griess chemical method; hepatic antioxidant capacity index (ORAC) by fluorescent enzyme immunoassay; glutathione (GSH) content by HPLC; activity of glutathione peroxidase (GPX-Px) and glutathione S-transferase (GST) by colorimetry; activity of hepatic mitochondrial respiratory chain complex enzyme (MRCCE) by ultraviolet spectrophotometry; and contents of cytochrome a, b, c, and c1 by the redox differential spectra.
RESULTSAs compared with the model group, in the XLP groups, level of plasma ALT activity, liver content of MDA and NO, and contents of cytochromes were lower, while levels of ORAC index, GSH, GPX-Px and GST in liver, and MRCCE activity were higher.
CONCLUSIONXLP has definite protective effects on stressive liver injury in mice, which may be related to its action in alleviating the oxidative stress condition in mice.
