1.Characteristics and clinical security of coronary artery drug-eluting stent
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2009;13(38):7575-7578
Technology and technique of coronary artery stent have been developed to a certain degree, restenosis rate of metal stent reduces to 15%, but coronary artery stent is still difficult for long-term effect of interventional therapy on coronary atherosclerotic heart disease. Drug-eluting stent is newly discovered during recent years, while it is prospect for preventing restenosis postoperatively. Although clinical efficacy of drug-eluting stent is encouraged, indication is still simple. In addition, some events related to drug-eluting stent remain poorly unknown. This study was designed to compare security between drug-eluting stent and metal bared stent, analyze major factors correlated with security of drug-eluting stent, and investigate the development of drug-eluting stent.

Journal of Applied Clinical Pediatrics 2006;0(21):-
The Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome(WAS)is a rare X-linked recessive immunodeficiency disorder characterized by thrombocytopenia and small platelets, eczema, recurrent infections, and increased risk for autoimmunity and malignancy. The gene responsible for this syndrome is WAS protein(WASP)gene.Six mutational hotspots have been identified now.Flow cytometric analysis of the WASP expression in lymphocytes is simple, rapid, and applicable for screening of WAS.WASP gene sequencing analysis can confirm the diagnosis.Hemato-poietic stem cell transplantation(HSCT)is the mainstay of treatment for WAS.So far more than 40 WAS patients have been diagnosed in China.Due to the few reports and varied clinical manifestations,WAS is often misdiagnosed as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. This review will focus on recent progress in understanding the clinical presentations associated with mutations of the WASP gene, the genotype-phenotype correlation and management of this lethal disease.

Objective To evaluate the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of occult breast cancer(OBC). Methods Clinical data of 12 OBC cases from June 1995 to June 2006 were retrospectively analyzed. Results There were 12 female; the mean age was 52.7 years(39~66). Tumor of all cases was in one of breasts, left(10 cases) or right(2 cases), 4 cases in pro- menostasis, 8 cases in post-menopause, and inci-dence of OBC in all kinds of breast cancer was 0.5% (12/2385). All cases were found because of lump in axillary fossa, the biopsy of 10 showed cases were lymph node adenocarcinoma metastatic, the fine needle aspiration of 2 cases were lymph node adenocarcinoma metastatic. Three cases were positive in the determi-nation of estrogen receptor of lymph node adenocareinoma metastatic. Two cases, suspecting breast cancer, could be found fine calcification in the examination of breast X-ray molybdenum target in 10 cases. Buhra-sound in 11 cases and near infrared ray scan in 10 cases did not detect cancer in breast; chest X-ray and Bultrasound in 10 cases and CT and all over the body bone scan in 5 cases did not found any cancer besides breast. Ten cases used modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer, one case radical mastectomy for breast cancer, one palliative operation. Pathological diagnosis of 9 cases after operation found breast primary le-sion, 6 cases were infiltrated duct cancer, 3 eases were intraductal cancer. All cases received radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Three cases which were positive in the determination of estrogen receptor of lymph node adenocarcinoma metastatic received TAM. Followed-up was made from 3 to 10 years, 11 cases were not found recurrence or metastses, and 5 cases had been living over 5 years. Conclusions OBC is one of rare special breast cancers. The powerful infiltrating capability leads to lump in axillary fessa in prophase and dis-rant metastses. The biopsy and fine needle aspiration would be used for diagnosis. Modified radical mastecto-my for breast cancer is the usual therapy method.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the dosage-efficacy/toxicity relationship of prepared rhubarb, in order to explore the bidirectional effects in hepatoprotection and hepatotoxicity of prepared rhubarb and the objective authenticity for attenuating toxicity by processing.
METHODNormal and pathological animals were adopted simultaneous to investigate the effect of total extracts from prepared rhubarb within a high dose range (2.0, 5.4, 14.7, 40.0 g x kg(-1) x d(-1)) on normal state, biochemical index and histopathology of experimental animals. The factor analytic approach was used to analyze the dosage-efficacy/toxicity relationship of prepared rhubarb.
RESULTThe factor analytic approach was used to extract two common factors from the nine biochemical indexes. The firs common factor was mainly dominated by HA, LN and TGF-β1, and could be explained as fibrotic factors. The second common factor was mainly dominated by ALT, AST and ALP, and could be explained as cellular factor. The results of the factor analysis suggested that prepared rhubarb showed significant bidirectional effects in hepatoprotection and hepatotoxicity, which could protect liver in CC14 injured chronic hepatic injury, but had a certain hepatotoxic effect to normal animals. The pathological examination showed consistent results with the factor analysis. Under comparable dosages, prepared rhubarb showed a stronger liver protecting effect than crude rhubarb, with a lower toxicity.
CONCLUSIONAlthough prepared rhubarb has a certain hepatotoxic effect to normal animals, it has also a significant therapeutic effect to animals with liver injury. The results proved the symptom-based prescription theory and the scientificity of the symptom-based medication. The symptom-based prescription theory is important to correctly realize the dosage-efficacy/toxicity relationship of traditional Chinese medicines and guide the symptom-based medication.

Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is a common clinical disease causing vision loss. Risk factors such as diabetes, atherosclerosis are closely associated with RVO. Xuesaitong injection is used extensively in clinical treatment of RVO, however the mechanism is still unclear. In this study, we investigated the protective effect of Xuesaitong injection on RVO rat model. Using a compound-target network of Xuesaitong on anti-RVO constructed by literature mining, we aim to elucidate the multi-compound, multi-target effect of Xuesaitong injection. Fifteen potential targets of Xuesaitong injection associated with inflammation, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and coagulation were identified in this study. VEGF, IL-1beta and IL-6, three important targets in the compound-target network were further experimentally validated. This study provided experimental evidence for Xuesaitong injection being effective in treating RVO and a network view on its anti-RVO mode of action through a multi-compound and multiple-target mechanism.
