OBJECTIVE: To systematically review the efficacy and safety of ambroxol administered intravenously for infant hyaline membrane disease. METHODS: The Cochrane collaboration methodology was followed to conduct the systematic review. The Cochrane Library, PubMed, Embase, ISI, CBM, CNKI, VIP, and WanFang Databases were searched. Randomized controlled trails (RCTs) comparing ambroxol administered intravenously with placebo or conventional treatment for HMD were independently selected by two reviewers. The quality of the selected trails was assessed, and the extracted data was analyzed. RESULTS: Seventeen studies involving 1372 cases were included. All the studies were published in Chinese, and the quality scores were C. Meta-analysis showed that ambroxol had statistically significant benefit in reducing HMD incidence rate, HMD death rate, and incidence rate of complication and in increasing the total effective rate and the change of chest x-ray. The RRs (95% CI) were 0.29(0.20, 0.43), 0.24(0.13, 0.45), 0.20(0.11, 0.37), 2.42(1.85, 3.17), and 2.81(2.06, 3.82), respectively. And the ambroxol group also had better outcome than the control group in LOS and mechanical ventilation. Neither of the ambroxol group or the control group had any report of adverse effect. CONCLUSION: Ambroxol given intravenously can effectively reduce the incidence rate, death rate and complications of HMD. It also has good safety. Objective To assess the quality of life(QOL)in patients with stroke at the acute stage,and to determine whether all the dimensions of the Medical Outcomes Study 36-Item Short-Form Health Survey(SF-36)are applicable to the stroke patients.Methods Fifty stroke patients at the acute stage were studied.The SF-36 was employed to assess the quality of life of the patients,and a self-designed questionnaire was used to record the general information of them.The data obtained from the patients was compared with the Chinese norm reported in literature. We also calculated the percentage of subjects who achieved the lowest possible score(score of 0,floor effect)and the percentage of subjects who achieved the highest possible score(score of 100,ceiling effect).Results The QOL of the acute stroke patients,as reflected by scores with all the dimensions of the SF-36 scale,was significantly reduced when compared with the norm data(P

OBJECTIVE To monitor the bacterial distribution and the drug resistance among elderly patients in Medical depariment for senior cadres′ of our hospital,and offer the reference for the clinical use of antibiotics therapy.METHODS From Jan 2006 to Dec 2007 1230 pathogen strains isolated from the elderly patients and antimicrobial susceptibility was tested.RESULTS Of 1230 pathogen strains isolated,747 strains were Gram-negative bacilli,310 strains were Gram-positive cocci,and 173 strains were fungi.The percentage of these three groups were 60.7%,25.2% and 14.1%,respectively.The major strain of fungi was Candida albicans.ESBLs producing rates of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae were 48.0% and 35.8%,respectively. Meticillin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) and coagulase negative Staphylococcus(MRCNS) accounted for 65.0% and 77.8%,respectively.VRE were 17.7%.In our data,no vancomycin-resistant Staphlococcus was isolated.Pathogenic bacteria were higher resistant to the commonly used antibiotics.The Gram-negative bacteria were sensitive to imipenem,meropenem,antibiotics combined with ?-lactamases inhibitor,and amikacin.The Gram-positive bacteria were sensitive to vancomycin and teicoplanin.CONCLUSIONS The major pathogens infected the elderly patients in Medical department for senior cadres′ are Gram-negative bacteria,and the pathogens show the high drug resistance.The result of antimicrobial susceptibility test can guide to cure and control infection of elderly patients effectively.

Background Sustained abnormal tear secretion in dry eye patients may lead to ocular surface and lacrimal glands in the state of long-term inflammatory cell infiltration.Lacrimal gland suffers immune attack by lymphoproliferative,and inflammation interferes normal gland secretion,in which chemokines and their receptors on lymphocytes play a key role.Objective This study was to investigate the inflammation mechanism of delayed allergy induced by Th1 cell in the development of dry eye.Methods Sixty eyes of 30 patients with dry eye and matched 30 healthy volunteers were enrolled in Affiliated First Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University from June to December in 2012.Schirmer Ⅰ test (S Ⅰ t),break up time (BUT) of tear and corneal fluorescence stain (FLS) were performed on the subjects,and conjunctiva epithelial cells were obtained using cytological method of conjunctiva imprinting.Positive cell rates of CC chemokine receptor 5 (CCR5) and CXC chemokine receptor 3 (CXCR3) were detected by flow cytology,and the relative expression levels of regulated upon activation of normal T cells exp ressed and secreted (RANTES),macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-lα and MIP-1β,monokine induced by interferon-γ (IFN-γ) (MIG),interferon-γ inducible protein 10 (IP10) and interferon-inducible T-cell α chemoattractant (I-TAC) mRNA were quantitatively assayed by real-time PCR.Differences of the positive rates of CCR5,CXCR3 and lignds were compared between dry eye group and normal control group.Relationship between the positive rates of CCR5,CXCR3 and BUT,S Ⅰ t,FLS scores was analyzed.Results The values of BUT,S Ⅰ t were (2.90±1.37) seconds and (4.00±2.49) mm/5 minutes in the dry eye group,which were significantly lower than (8.56±4.69) seconds and (11.31 ±5.23) mm/5 minutes in the normal control group (t =3.172,2.186,both at P＜0.05).FLS scores,positive rates of CCR5 and CXCR3 were0.90±0.57,(3.38±0.66) ％ and (2.64±0.47)％ in the dry eye group,showing significant elevations in comparison with 0.14±0.06,(2.12±0.21) ％ and (1.12±0.11) ％ in the normal control group (t=2.297,3.151,5.454,all at P＜0.05).In the dry eye group,the masculine rate of CCR5 was negatively correlated with BUT and S Ⅰ t (r=-0.473,-0.385,both at P＜0.05).The masculine rate of CXCR3 was negatively correlated with BUT and S Ⅰ t (r =-0.753,-0.684,both at P＜0.05).No considerable correlations between the positive rate of CCR5 with the positive rate of CXCR3 or FLS scores (r =0.231,0.336,both at P＜0.05).The relative expression levels of RANTES,MIP-1α,MIG and IP10 mRNA in the dry eye group were significantly higher than those in the normal control group (t =3.091,2.894,2.688,2.245,all at P＜0.05),but there were no significant differences in the relative expression levels of MIP-1β and I-TAC mRNA between the two groups (t =0.512,1.979,both at P＞0.05).The positive correlations were seen between the masculine rate of CCR5 with the relative expression of RANTES or MIP-1α mRNA (r=0.473,0.285,both at P＜0.05),but there was no obvious correlation between the masculine rate of CCR5 and the MIP-1 β mRNA expression(r=0.214,P＞0.05).In addition,the masculine rate of CXCR3 was positive correlated with the expressions of MIG and IP10 mRNA (r=0.553,0.314,both at P＜0.05),whereas the masculine rate of CXCR3 was not related to the expression of I-TAC mRNA (r=0.364,P＞0.05).Conclusions Dry eye is probably along with the long-term infiltration of inflammatory cells.The delayed allergy induced by Th1 cells and the nature killed cells is probably the primary cause to xerophthalmia.CCR5,CXCR3 and their ligands might be the regulative targets in the inflammation mechanism of dry eye.

Background and Purpose:Recent studies have shown that survivin is an anti-apoptosis gene,which is involved in carcinogenesis and drug resistance of leukemia.Antisense oligodeoxynucleotide(ASODN) can be used to inhibit the expression of survivin,inducing apoptosis and enhancing the chemosensitivity of leukemic cells.This study was designed to explore the effect of survivin ASODN on the growth,apoptosis,and caspase-3 activity of leukemia cell line K562/A02 with the phenotype of drug resistance.Methods:Survivin ASOND was transfected to K562/A02 cells by liposomal reagent,The rate of inhibition,expression of survivin mRNA,apoptosis,and activity of Caspase-3 were detected by colormetric MTT,RT-PCR,flow cytometry and fluorometer,respectively.Results:Survivin ASODN could inhibite the cell proliferation in a dose and time dependent manner.Compared with controls,expression of survivin mRNA decreased by 36.2%(P

0.05),but had positive relationship with the clinical stages and lymphatic metastasis of the tumor. Conclusion Livin ? is highly expressed in the tissues and peripheral blood cell from the patients of laryngeal squamous carcinoma,which is closely related to the clinical stages and lymphatic metastasis of the tumor.

?Proliferative diabetic retinopathy ( PDR ) is a group of disease characterized by neovascular disease complication of diabetes mellitus. Neovascular diseases of eye are one of the major causes of blindness of the world. Recent studies showed that vascular endothelial growth factor ( VEGF) and pigment epithelium-derived factor ( PEDF ) are now accepted as the key cytokine in the development of diabetic retinopathy. Recent progress in the investigation of VEGF and PEDF of PDR are summarized in this review.

Objective We aimed to analyze the results of physical examinations in bank employees and understand the self-health care consciousness of them in order to establish health education method for the employees.Methods We collected data of physical examinations for 904 bank employees and analyzed the results statisticaUy.Results There were 510 employees who got abnormal results,accounting for 56.4%.The first four diseases were ordered as follows:hyperlipoidemia,hepar adiposum,high blood pressure and hyperuricacidemia.Moreover,the incidence increased with the increasing ages.Besides,the incidence of illness was closely correlated with the employees'living styles. Conclusions We should strengthen the health education and behavior intervention for bank employees in order to urge them to drop off bad living habits self-consciously and establish benign living styles.

Objective:To research the effect of the media on women's body image.Methods:The subjects were all from 2 colleges.The subjects of experiment 1 were 63 high and low trait social comparison female students.Among them,high trait social comparison subjects were 31 in the model image group,30 in the product image group.Low trait social comparison subjects were 30 in the model image group,32 were in the product image group.The subjects of experiment 2 were the total of 61 high trait social comparison female students.Among them,30 subjects were analyzed by similarity comparison,and 31 subjects received difference comparison.The instruments included advertisement pictures,body image states scale,the physical apperance comparion scale,and the consumer response questionnaire.Results:Analysis of variance showed that,in the model image level,the score of body image scale in high social comparison group was significantly higher than that in low social comparison group [(5.54±1.05)vs.(4.73±0.92),P<0.001].Regression analysis further showed that social comparison was moderator(ΔR~2= 0.035,P<0.01).For social comparisons mode,score of body image scale in difference comparison group was higher than that in similarity comparison group [(5.55±0.82)vs.(4.56±0.86),P<0.05].Conclusion:These findings suggested that social comparison can be used to prevent female college students' negative body images.
