1.Beneficial cardiovascular effects of statins
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(11):-
Pleiotropic effects of a drug are actions other than that for which the agents were developed. These effects may be desired or undesired, and may be unrelated to their primary mechanism.Statins were designed as a drug for reducing cholesterol, but now pleiotropic effect are found including improvement of endothelial dysfunction, inhancement of eNOS bioavailability antioxide effect, antiinflammatory properties and reduction of hypertension.Understanding those effects is important for treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Objective To discuss the clinical value of high -quality nursing care in patients with diabetic ne-phropathy .Methods 160 patients with diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into intervention group and control group, 80 cases in each group .The two groups were received the regular treatment and nursing care of diabetic ne-phropathy, while the intervention group further received high -quality nursing measures. The blood glucose, blood lip-id, renal function, oxidative stress index and SAS score were observed after 6 months. Results The blood glucose, blood lipid, renal function and SAS score index were significantly lower than the control group (p<0.05), and the oxi-dative stress index were improved significantly than that in the control group (p<0.05);Conclusion High-quality nursing intervention can obviously improve the psychological status and therapeutic effect of diabetic nephropathy .

Objective To study the antifatigue effect of sea cucumber exstract. Methods According to the experimental methods of animal antifatigue, three doses of sea cucumber extract were applied to mice and their antifatigue effects were compared statistically.Result 300 mg?kg -1 ?d -1 sea cucumber extract could significantly prolong pole climbing time in mice, increase the reserves of liver glycogen and the content of blood glucose, decrease the contents of blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and blood lactic acid after strenuous exercise. Conclusion The preliminary study showed that the sea cucumber exstract has some antifatigue effects.

Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1986;0(04):-
AIM To investigate the feasibility of bacterial endotoxins test for cisplatin injection. METHODS Gel clot and kinetic turbidimetric limulus tests were applied. RESULTS After diluted to 0 14 g?L -1 ,six batches of cisplatin injection didn't interfere with the test for bacterial endotoxins, others except three also didn't interfere with the test at the concentration of 0 28 g?L -1 ; The content of bacterial endotoxins in all samples tested was not more than 1 8 ZU?g -1 . CONCLUSION The kinetic turbidimetric limulus test provides a new way to detect the content of endotoxins in cisplatin injection, samples can be diluted to 0 14 g?L -1 to refute their interfering effects on routine bacterial endotoxins test.

Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(08):-
Objective To study the changes of cytokine activation in patients with chronic congestive haert failure(CHF) as indicated by plasma levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and its relation to adrenomedullin(ADM) and endthelin-1(ET-1).Methods The plasma levels of CRP,ADM and ET-1 of 60 decompensated haert failure(DHF) patients group and 30 essential hypertension patients with compensated cardiac function(CCF) group were tested. CRP was determined by immunoturbidometry,ET-1 and ADM were determined by radioimmunoassay. Results The plasma levels of ET-1 ,ADM and CRP of decompensated heart failure group were significantly higher than the compensated cardiac function group; In the decompensated heart failure group, the plasma levels of CRP and ADM were elevated according to worsening of heart failure(NYHA classification) ;In the decompensated heart failure group, the plasma levels of CRP were positively correlated with ADM(r=0.57).Conclusion There is extensive activation of cytokines,ADM and ET-1 in patients with chronic congestive heart failure.Cytokine activation might play a role in the synthesis of ADM,thus contribute to the hum oral regulation of heart failure, but may not be re- sponsible for the activation of ET-1.

Objective:To investigate the role of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 in the progress that isometric exercise training improves arteriogenesis.Method:Twenty-four male Sprague-Dawley rats were used, weighing (200±20)g.The rats were randomized into control group (CG),myocardial ischemia group (MI),exercise training group (ET),MCP-1 inhibitor group (LG).There were 6 rats in each group.Rats were continuously administered 10mg/kg subcutaneously isoproterenol for successive 2 weeks to establish the myocardial ischemia model.Successfully modeled rats were in groups MI,ET and LG.Isometric exercise training were performed in group ET and LG.The rats in group LG were given MCP-1 inhibitor leflunomide by gavage. After 8 weeks of training, the left ventricular myocardium was extracted and relative collateral blood flow (RCBF) was measured by microspheres.Artery density (AD) and monocytes were measured by immunohistochemistry analysis.Western blot analysis and real-time quantitative PCR were performed to assay protein and mRNA of MCP-1.Result:RCBF and AD increased significantly in group ET as compared to the rest groups.RCBF and AD in group LG showed higher than that in group MI but not significant. The number of monocytes,MCP-1 mRNA and MCP-1 expression were significantly elevated in ischemic myocardium of group ET.Interestingly, the number of monocytes,MCP-1 mRNA and MCP-1 expression showed lower than that in group MI but also not significant. Conclusion:Eight weeks of isometric exercise training can increase the expression of MCP-1 in ischemic myocardium and promote the arteriogenesis.

Journal of Clinical Neurology 1997;0(06):-
Objective To explore the change of hippocampal neurons cholinergic receptor in rats with vascular dementia(VD).Methods VD rat models were established by employing improved method of Pulsinelli's four-vessel occlusion.1 month later, the abilities of learning and memory of VD models were tested by Morris water maze. The activities of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) in plasma and hippocampus were detected by the improved Ellman's colorimetric methods. The expressions of hippocampal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) subunits ?3,?4 and ?7 proteins and mRNA were detected respectinely by Western Blotting and RT-PCR,respectively.The results were compared with sham operation group. Results Compared to the sham operation group, the escape latency of Morris water maze test and the first time crossing platform in VD group were significantly prolonged, the number of crossing platform was decreased (all P

Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong University(medical Science) 2010;30(1):108-111
Stroke is characterized by a group of acute cerebral vascular diseases which attack acutely with focal neurological deficits. Residual motor deficits often sojourn after stroke. Cortical stimulation, which is a technique developed many decades ago, has recently re-emerged as a promising method for researchers in their quest to causally probe cortical representations of sensorimotor and cognitive functions and to facilitate the treatment of various neuropsychiatric disorders. The article summarizes the research progress of cortical stimulation in the promotion of motor function recovery after stroke, the method of operation, the possible mechanisms and the prospect.
