Objective To investigate the mechanisms of attachment of respiratory syncytial virus(RSV) to human airway epithelial cells.Methods Attachment of RSV to CFBE was quantitatively assessed by flow cytometry.Various polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies to RSV and heparin were pre-incubated with RSV.The blocking effects of these antibodies and heparin on attachment were evaluated.Results CFBE cells reduced capacity being bound by RSV.All the antibodies used were failed to block attachment of RSV on CFBE,whereas heparin blocked RSV attachment in a dose-response manner and the blokade by heparin was almost complete at the concentration of 0.4 mg/L.Conclusions Flow cytometry provides direct evaluation of attachment without growth of virus.Heparin-like molecules on cell surface of CFBE appears to be involved in attachment between RSV and human epithelial cells.

AIM:To investigate the clinical effect of ranibizumab assisted 25G vitrectomy for proliferative diabetic retinopathy(PDR).

METHODS: Totally 120 patients(120 eyes)from our hospital from October 2014 to November 2017 were selected as subjects, and randomly divided into 2 groups. Sixty patients(60 eyes)in the conventional group were treated with 25G vitrectomy alone. Sixty patients(60 eyes)in the study group were treated with ranibizumab adjuvant 25G vitrectomy. The patients were followed up for 6mo. The duration of operation, intraoperative and postoperative conditions, postoperative complications, and the BCVA, intraocular pressure, central area of the macula in preoperative and postoperative 6mo were compared.

RESULTS: The average duration of surgery in the study group was significantly lower than that in the conventional group(t=5.727, P<0.05). The incidence of postoperative high intraocular pressure, electrocoagulation hemostasis, iatrogenic retinal tears, and INV(iris neovascularization)were significantly lower in the study group than in the conventional group(P<0.05), the overall incidence was significantly lower than the conventional group(5.0% vs 16.7%, χ2=4.227, P<0.05). The intraocular pressure and the thickness of the central area of the macula of the study group was significantly lower than that of the conventional group at 6mo after operation, the BCVA was significantly better than the conventional group(t=3.362, 2.486, 8.028, all P<0.05).

CONCLUSION: PDR patients treated with ranibizumab-assisted 25G vitrectomy can effectively shorten the operation time, improve macular edema, reduce the incidence of postoperative bleeding and complications, and be safe and reliable.

Objective To evaluate effects of daily average temperature on the occurrence of urticaria in Lanzhou city,and to analyze differences in the effects between different populations.Methods Time-series data on daily outpatient visits for urticaria between January 1,2007 and December 31,2013 were collected from the First Hospital of Lanzhou University and Lanzhou University Second Hospital.Daily meteorological data during this peroid were obtained from the Gansu Meteorological Bureau.Distributed lag non-linear models were used to analyze the association between daily average temperature and occurrence of urticaria,and the analysis was stratified by age and gender.Results The association between daily average temperature and daily number of outpatient visits for urticaria was nonlinear.Low temperature had significant lag effects on the daily number of outpatient visits for urticaria,with the maximum relative risk (RR) value (1.014 [95％ CI 1.000-1.023]) observed at 6 ℃ on lag day 18.Stratification analysis demonstrated that the effects of high temperature on the number of outpatient visits for urticaria were apparent on the day of exposure in age groups of 0-18 and 19-64 years,but decreased on the day of exposure in the age group ≥ 65 years.The effects of low temperature,which showed similar trends along with the increment of lag days in all groups,were relatively delayed and occurred 2 to 4 days after exposure.Conclusions Air temperature affects the occurrence of urticaria in Lanzhou city.Low temperature has evident lag effects on the occurrence of urticaria,while high temperature does not have.

0.05).The most common toxicity was neutropenia and nausea.There are no serious nausea,damage of liver and kidney functions and grade 4 neutropenia in the study group.The side-ef- fects,in the study group,such as hemorrhage,infection,medicine outleakage,catheter obstruct,catheter slough,gastric-intestinal perforation,and fever did not appear.Conclusion Although this study was conduct- ed in a small number of patients and short time,compared with the control group,the study group had a ben- eficial effect in peritoneal recurrence after curative gastrectomy for advanced gastric cancer and had less side effect and good toleration.It played a role in enhancing 1-year overall survival rate.The combination of intra- venous and intraperitoneal chemotherapy after gastrectomy may have better treatment effect on gastric cancer than that of intravenous chemotherapy alone.The randomized controlled trials are required.
