1.Ethic Problems of Animal Experiments
Chinese Medical Ethics 1994;0(05):-
Animal experiments play an important role in development of biomedicine. But with the rise of aniaml protection, animal experiments are suffering the challenge from the theory on animal rights and animal welfare act.The theory about animal rights is a genre of ecoethics, which claims animal has congenital survival and freedom rights as well as human.Medicine people should have scientific, serious and humane attitudes to take aniaml experiments.

High mobility group box chromosomal protein (HMGB1), an abundant eukaryotic nonhistone chromosomal protein, is previously known as a nuclear DNA-binding protein that stabilizes the structure and function of chromatin, regulates gene transcription. Recent studies identify that extracellular HMGB1 as a late mediator of endotoxemia and sepsis.HMGB1 is released by activated macrophages, induces the release of other proinflammatory mediators, and mediates lethality when overexpressed. It may also be a key signal for eliciting immune responses to cellular injury and death. Moreover, the late kinetics of HMGB1,in compared with other proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF and IL-1,suggest that targeting HMGB1 may provide a wide and clinically accessible therapeutic window.Three independent strategies to inhibit HMGB1 release and action are now available:anti-HMGB1 antibodies,A box,and ethyl pyruvate. This review covers the general features of HMGB1 and progress in research on its newly role as a cytokine participating in the development of sepsis.

Objective:To investigate the content and mode of pharmaceutical care for the patients with severe burn and promote the rational use of drugs. Methods:Taking the treatment for one patient with severe burn as example, pharmacists provided pharmaceu-tical care in respects of anti-infection therapy, organ preservation, nutritional support, drug interactions, drug precautions, drug incom-patibility, adverse drug reactions and the effect evaluation . Results:The program of rational drug use was provided for clinics through the implementation of pharmaceutical care. The vital signs of the patient were stable, and then the patient left on pass and continued to be treated with rehabilitation therapy. Conclusion:It is necessary for clinical pharmacists to perform pharmaceutical care for the pa-tients with severe burn, reduce the abuse of drugs and improve the medication safety and effectiveness. Meanwhile, the collaborative service of doctors, pharmacists, nurses and inspectors to patients reflects the value of clinical pharmacists.

Curriculum of introduction to clinical medicine(ICM) in the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine was analyzed. Characteristics of ICM course in the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine were: early setting, rich in content, long duration and focusing on clinical. ICM course between Guangxi Medical University and University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine were compared. Taking advantages of ICM course in the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Medicine was conductive to better understanding the importance , teaching objectives and means of ICM course . The teaching quality evaluation system of ICM course would be built in the future.

Objective To evaluate the effect of orthopedic clinical practice teaching design based on WeChat platform. Methods From September 2015 to August 2017,62 undergraduate students majoring in clinical medicine in the department of orthopedics of our hospital were selected as the study subjects, and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group. With 31 interns in each group, the control group implemented the traditional teaching method according to the requirements of the syllabus. The experimental group was attached to WeChat production, push notification and communication of related courses on the basis of the traditional teaching methods. At the end of the teaching, the theoretical and operational tests, the comprehensive quality assessment, the evaluation for teachers' teaching work and the questionnaire survey of the two groups were administrated to evaluate the teaching effect.SAS 9.0 was used to do t-test and CMH-chi-square test. Results The score of the experimental group in the theoretical test [(87.52 ± 5.45) vs.(82.61 ± 7.70)],operational test [(94.36 ± 2.60) vs.(92.26 ± 3.01)],comprehensive quality assessment [(95.94 ± 1.61) vs.(93.42 ± 2.81)] and the evaluation for teachers' teaching work [(94.58 ± 2.06) vs.(92.55 ± 1.69)] were better than those of control group, and there were statistically significant differences.P values were 0.005,0.005,0.000 and 0.000 respectively. The questionnaire survey results show that the experimental group was better than the control group in learning motivation (P=0.035),literature study (P=0.013),curriculum arrangement (P=0.007),teaching satisfaction (P=0.029) and professional recognition (P=0.040).Conclusions The clinical practice teaching method based on WeChat platform is effective and feasible to the orthopedic medical students, which is helpful to improve students' learning initiative and master effective learning strategies. The application is worth promoting.

BACKGROUND:The specific molecular mechanism of the transformation from normal healthy people to acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy has not been clear, which needs to be further studied. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the differential expression of serum proteomics between normal healthy people and patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, and to find and identify potential specific serum markers between them. METHODS:The serum samples of eight patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy and eight normal healthy people were collected, and the proteomic screening and analysis were performed by tandem mass tag combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry technology,in order to explore and identify serum proteins differentially expressed in patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:A total of 183 significantly differential proteins were screened by tandem mass tag technology, and 11 significantly differential proteins were identified(P<0.05).Compared with normal healthy people, three differential proteins were significantly up-regulated,including human leukocyte antigen-A,secretoglobin family 1a member 1,and protein 4-hydroxyphenylpyruvate dioxygenase, and seven differential proteins were significantly down-regulated,such as immunoglobulin heavy constant gamma 3,skin factor, and myosin light chain 3,in patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.Gene ontology enrichment analysis showed that these differential proteins participated in antigen binding, immunoglobulin receptor binding and other molecular functions.Protein-protein interaction analysis showed that among the common differential proteins between normal healthy people and patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy,HLA-A,HPD,PSMA3,DMKN,SCGB1A1,and MYL3 were located at the nodes of the functional network, and were closely related to the systems of body immunity, cellular inflammatory response, energy metabolism, and mechanical pressure. The significantly differential proteins HLA-A,HPD and MYL3 were verified by western blot, and the results were consistent with those of proteomics. To conclude, tandem mass tag combined with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry technology can be used to find the differentially expressed proteins in serum between normal healthy people and patients with acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. It is preliminarily believed that HLA-A,HPD and MYL3 may be specific serum markers of acute cervical spondylotic radiculopathy, providing a new direction for further research on its pathogenesis.
