Journal of Clinical Pediatrics 2016;34(10):767-770
Objective To explore the risk factors of primary nephritic syndrome complicated with thrombosis in children. Methods Clinical data of 238 children with primary nephritic syndrome were retrospectively analyzed. The children were divided into thrombosis group and non-thrombosis group according to whether complicated with thromboembolism. Univariate and logistic regression analysis were performed. Results Among 238 children, there were 32 cases of primary nephritic syndrome complicated with thrombosis and the rate was 13.44%. Univariate analysis showed that infections, the use of diuretic, degree of edema, white blood cell count, IgG, C3, total protein, albumin, urea nitrogen, plasma ifbrinogen, D-dimer, antithrombinⅢ, and 24-hour proteinuria were signiifcantly different between two groups (allP< 0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that D-dimer and 24-hour proteinuria were the independent risk factors for children with primary nephrotic syndrome complicated with thrombosis. Conclusion The elvated level of D-dimer and 24-hour proteinuria were the risk factors of children with primary nephrotic syndrome complicated with thrombosis.

Objective:To investigate the role of coupler perfusion in transrectal ultrasound in the diagnosis of preoperative T staging of rectal cancer. Methods:A retrospective analysis of the preoperative clinical data of 132 patients with rectal cancer in the People′s Hospital of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region from June 2015 to November 2020. According to whether or not the patients agreed to coupler perfusion before ultrasound examination, they were divided into 2 groups, namely the perfusion group 69 cases and the non-perfusion group of 63 cases, with postoperative pathology as the gold standard, and compared with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) to evaluate the accuracy of the 2 groups and MRI in the T staging of rectal cancer. Results:The total coincidence rates of the coupling agent perfusion group, non-perfusion group and MRI group for the diagnosis of rectal cancer T staging were 89.9%, 76.2% and 87.9%, respectively, and the difference among the three methods was statistically significant (χ 2=6.096, P=0.047). The diagnostic sensitivity of the coupling agent perfusion group for T1 stage was 96.0%, which was higher than 61.5% of the non-perfusion group and 92.3% of the MRI ( P=0.010). The specificity of the perfusion group for the diagnosis of T2 stage was 95.7%, higher than the non-perfusion group and MRI ( P=0.037), the positive predictive value of the perfusion group for T2 stage was 90.9%, which was higher than the non-perfusion group and MRI ( P=0.035). The diagnostic accuracy of the perfusion group for T2 stage was 94.2%, higher than the non-perfusion group and MRI (χ 2=7.070, P=0.029). There were no statistically significant differences in diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy among the perfusion group and the non-perfusion group and the MRI for T3 and T4 (all P>0.05). Conclusions:Coupled-agent perfusion makes it convenient and fast for intracavity ultrasound to diagnose T staging of rectal cancer, and the diagnostic efficiency is comparable to MRI. In particular, it can be used as a highly reliable imaging method for T1 and T2 rectal cancer.

Objective To evaluate the effect of diammonium glycyrrhizinate extracted from the Chinese traditional medicine licorice root on the growth of human hair follicles cultured in vitro, and to detect the expression of wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway-related molecules. Methods Isolated hair follicles were cultured with diammonium glycyrrhizinate at different concentrations of 0.1,0.01,0.001 and 0.000 1 μmol/L for 10 days, and the hair follicles cultured in Williams' E medium without diammonium glycyrrhizinate served as a control group. The length of hair follicles was measured under a microscope every day,the morphologic changes of hair follicles were observed, and photos were taken.Immunofluorescence assay was performed to assess the proliferation of hair matrix cells,as well as to determine the expression of β-catenin,glycogen synthase kinase 3β (GSK3β),phosphorylated GSK3β (p-GSK3β) and lymphoid enhancer factor-1 (Lef1) in the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.Statistical analysis was carried out by repeated-measures analysis of variance and one-way analysis of variance. Results As repeated-measures analysis of variance showed, only 0.01 μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhetate showed significantly promotive effect on the growth of hair follicles compared with the medium alone (P < 0.05),and there were no significant differences in the length of hair follicles between the other concentration groups and the control group.Compared with the control group, the transition to the catagen phase of human hair cycle was delayed in the 0.01-μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhetate group, while it did not change in the other diammonium glycyrrhetate groups and control group.Immunofluorescence assay showed that the number of ki67-positive hair matrix cells was obviously increased in the 0.1-,0.01-,0.001-μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhizinate groups compared with the control group, while there was no difference between the 0.000 1-μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhizinate group and the control group.One-way analysis of variance revealed that the expression of β-catenin,p-GSK3β and Lef1 significantly differed among all the groups (F =12.604,16.65,15.266 respectively,P < 0.05),while no significant difference in the expression of GSK3β was found among these groups (F =1.472,P > 0.05).Least significant difference (LSD)-t test revealed that the expre-ssion of β-catenin,p-GSK3β and Lef1 in the hair matrix cells was significantly higher in the 0.1-,0.01-,0.001-μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhizinate groups than in the control group (all P < 0.05),but there was no significant difference between the 0.000 1-μmol/L diammonium glycyrrhizinate group and the control group (P > 0.05).Conclusion Diammonium glycyrrhetate at the concentration of 0.01 μmol/L shows markedly promotive effect on the in vitro growth of hair follicles, and can increase the proliferative activity of hair matrix cells and delay the transition to the catagen phase, which may be associated with the activation of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Chinese Journal of Medical Genetics 2020;37(4):401-404
OBJECTIVE:
To compare the accuracy of five warfarin-dosing algorithms and warfarin stable dose model (2.5 mg/day) for Shandong population.
METHODS:
One hundred and twenty five patients who achieved stable warfarin dose were enrolled. Clinical and genetic data were used to evaluate the value of each algorithm by calculating the percentage of patients whose predicted warfarin dose was within 20% of the actual stable therapeutic dose and mean absolute error (MAE).
RESULTS:
The frequency of patients with CYP2C9*1/*1, CYP2C9*1/*3 and CYP2C9*1/*2 genotype was 92.00%, 7.20%, 0.80%, respectively. That of VKORC1-1639 AA, AG and GG genotype was 82.40%, 15.20%, 2.40%, respectively. CYP4F2*1/*1, *1/*3, *3/*3 genotype was 50.40%, 39.20%, 10.40%, respectively. With the same genotypes for other loci, patients who carried at least one VKORC1-16398G mutant allele had increased warfarin stable daily dose compared with VKORC1-1639AA. Compared with CYP4F2*1/*1, those carrying at least one CYP4F2*3 mutant allele had warfarin stable daily dose increased by 5.9%-13.00%. The percentage of ideal prediction calculated from IWPC model (59.20%), Huang model (57.60%) and Ohno model (52.80%) were higher than others. The MAE were 0.35 (95%CI: 0.11-0.49), 0.15 (95%CI: 0.10-0.32), 0.39 (95%CI: 0.12-0.51), respectively.
CONCLUSION
The polymorphisms of CYP2C9, VKORC1 and CYP4F2 genes can influence the stable dose of warfarin in Shandong population. IWPC algorithm is suitable for guiding the use of warfarin in this population.

Chinese Journal of Biotechnology 2020;36(7):1356-1364
Salinity is the most important factor for the growth of crops. It is an effective method to alleviate the toxic effect caused by salt stress using saline-alkali-tolerant and growth-promoting bacteria in agriculture. Seven salt-tolerant bacteria were screened from saline-alkali soil, and the abilities of EPS production, alkalinity reduction and IAA production of the selected strains were investigated. A dominant strain DB01 was evaluated. The abilities of EPS production, alkalinity reduction and IAA production of strain DB01 were 0.21 g/g, 8.7% and 8.97 mg/L, respectively. The isolate was identified as Halomonas aquamarina by partial sequencing analysis of its 16S rRNA genes, and had the ability to inhibit the growth of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp., Alternaria solani, Phytophthora sojae and Rhizoctonia cerealis. It also could promote root length and germination rate of wheat seedlings under salt stress. Halomonas aquamarina can provide theoretical basis for the development of soil microbial resources and the application in saline-alkali soil improvement.

Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine 2019;24(1):20-20
OBJECTIVES:
The association between concentrations of sulfur dioxide (SO), nitrogen dioxide (NO), carbon monoxide (CO), ozone (O), and emergency ambulance dispatches (EADs) for asthma was explored in the central Sichuan Basin of southwestern China for the first time.
METHODS:
EADs for asthma were collected from the Chengdu First-Aid Command Center. Pollutant concentrations were collected from 24 municipal environmental monitoring centers and including SO, NO, CO, daily 8-h mean concentrations of O (O-8 h), and particulate matter less than 2.5 μm in aerodynamic diameter (PM). The climatic data were collected from the Chengdu Municipal Meteorological Bureau. All data were collected from years spanning 2013-2017. A time-stratified case-crossover design was used to analyze the data.
RESULTS:
After controlling for temperature, relative humidity, and atmospheric pressure, IQR increases in SO (13 μg/m), NO (17 μg/m), and CO (498 μg/m) were associated with 18.8%, 11.5%, and 3.1% increases in EADs for asthma, respectively. The associations were strongest for EADs and SO, NO, and CO levels with 3-, 5-, and 1-day lags, respectively.
CONCLUSIONS
This study provides additional data to the limited body of literature for potential health risks arising from ambient gaseous pollutants. The results of the study suggest that increased concentrations of SO, NO, and CO were positively associated with emergency ambulance dispatches for asthma in Chengdu, China. Further studies are needed to investigate the effects of individual air pollutants on asthma.
