Purpose To explore the value of 64-slice spiral CT digital subtraction angiography in diagnosis of cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM).Materials and Methods 26 patients with AVM were performed with plain CT scan, enhanced arterial phase and venous phase CT scan on a 64-slice spiral CT scanner. The subtracted arterial phase data was obtained through subtracting the plain CT images from arterial phase images, then the subtracted venous phase data was obtained through subtracting arterial phase images from venous phase images, and subtracted mixed arterial-venous phase data through subtracting plain CT images from venous phase images. Then volume rendering (VR) and maximum intensity projection (MIP) were used to reconstruct the cerebral vessel images. Results The inference of cranial bones was completely removed in all subtracted cerebral vessel images, thus clearly demonstrating malformed vascular nest, feeding arteries and draining veins. And 7 malformed temporal vascular nests, 5 parietal vascular nests, 5 frontal vascular nests, 6 occipital vascular nests and 3 cerebellar vascular nests were revealed;39 feeding arteries were detected altogether. Single feeding artery was found in 15 cases, and multiple feeding arteries in 9 cases. Meanwhile 33 draining veins were observed, and single draining vein was found in 10 cases, multiple veins in 16 cases. Conclusion 64-slice subtraction angiography can remove the inference of cranial bones and clearly demonstrate the feeding arteries, malformed vascular nests, draining veins, potentially providing a reliable evidence for therapeutic planning and postoperative follow-up.

OBJECTIVETo study the prevalence of cerebral palsy (here in after referred to CP) in children aged 1 - 6 in Guangxi, China, and its epidemiologic characteristics and relevant risk factors.
METHODSInvestigations on the prevalence and etiology of CP in children at ages of 1 - 6 were conducted in Nanning, Hengxian and Qinzhou of Guangxi from June to December in 1998, with a cluster sampling.
RESULTSTotally, 150 806 children aged 1 - 6 were investigated in Nanning, Hengxian and Qinzhou of Guangxi, with 89 418 boys and 61 388 girls. Among them, 193 children were diagnosed as CP, with a prevalence rate of 1.28 per thousand, higher in boys (136 cases, 1.52 per thousand ) than in girls (57 cases, 0.93 per thousand ), with statistical significance (chi(2) = 9.536 7, P = 0.02). Logistic regression analysis showed that risk factors for CP were children who could not cry after birth (neonatal asphyxia), Apgar score less than eight, delivery at lower level of maternity hospital, number of mother's gravidity, no prenatal checks for mothers, and taking antipyretics and preserved food with salt during pregnancy.
CONCLUSIONSPrevalence of CP in children of Guangxi was at a lower level in comparison with that in other areas at home and abroad, which, maybe, was related with the lower neonatal survival and higher infant mortality.

Objective To comprehensively characterize the diterpene alkaloids in Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii. Methods The diterpene alkaloids were isolated and purified by strong acid cation exchange resin solid phase extraction column(SCX-SPE),and identified by ultra high performance liquid chromatography-Q-Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometry(UHPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap MS).Results A total of 99 diterpene alkaloids were identified from Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, including 27 diester diterpene alkaloids(DDA),29 monoester diterpene alkaloids(MDA),40 amide diterpene alkaloids(ADA),2 polyester diterpene alkaloids(PDA)and 1 long-chain ester diterpene alkaloid(LDA).Conclusion The SCX-SPE combined with UHPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap MS method, established in this paper, can rapidly identify a large number of diterpene alkaloids in Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii, which provides scientific proof for the study of pharmacodynamic substance basis and quality control of Radix Aconiti Kusnezoffii.
