1.An approach to applying the teaching-and-learning-through-interest technique in‘general biology’
Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2006;0(08):-
General biology is a preclinical course for seven-year program students. It is important for students to grasp the fundamental ideas in the course.Holding contests of lecturing on biomedicine in postgenome era is a good application of the teaching-and-learning-through-interest technique. It aims at broadening students’vision, making students familiar with cutting-edge technologies in biology and enhancing their ability to search and read literatures, and so on.

Journal of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University 2017;41(8):664-666
[Objective]Analyzing clinical experience and academic view of Pro. LIAN Jianwei for the treatment of eructation in order to completely learn and master his experience.[Method] Analyzing 4 belching cases of Pro. LIAN, and combining his therapeutic experience and view. [Result] According to the view of Pro. LIAN Jianwei, there are 4 common types in clinic, the type of accumulation in stomach and intestine, the type of spleen and stomach deficiency, the type of liver qi stagnation, the type of liver and spleen disharmony. Promoting digestion and harmonizing stomach to treat the type of food accumulation in stomach;benefiting qi and strengthening spleen to treat the type pf spleen and stomach qi deficiency;smoothing liver and regulating qi to treat type of liver and stomach disharmony; regulating liver and spleen to treat type of liver and spleen disharmony;eliminating damp to treat type of spleen deficiency with damp;activating blood to treat stasis caused by prolonged diseases. Prescriptions of Pro. LIANbased on methods which changed with syndromes. He insisted that treatments base on differentiation;prescriptions base on methods, which make effect well. [Conclusion] It is worthy for our students to learn and imitate clinical experience and academic view of Pro. LIAN Jianwei for the treatment of eructation.

Objective To compare the short-term effect of laparoscopic surgery with open surgery for gastrointesti﹣nal stromal tumor. Methods 26 patients, whose tumor were localized and the pathologic diagnosis were gastrointesti﹣nal stromal tumor in stomach after surgery, were randomly divided into laparoscopic surgery group (n=12) and open surgery group (n= 14). The age and gender level, disease duration, clinical symptom, tumor location, and the lesion diameter were similar between the two groups (P> 0.05). Surgery achievement, intraoperative blood loss, operative time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative flatus time, postoperative liquid time, and incidence rates of postoper﹣ative complications were compared between the two groups. Results All the patients get successful R0 resection. The volume of intraoperative blood loss, operative time, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative flatus time, and postop﹣erative liquid time in laparoscopic surgery group were lower than open surgery group (P< 0.05). There was no sig﹣nificant difference in the incidence rate of postoperative complications between the two groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Compared with open surgery, the short-term effect of laparoscopic surgery were better for patients whose gastrointestinal stromal tumor in stomach were localized, and it is worth of promoting clinical application.

Objective To investigate the characteristic of P30o event-related potentials(ERP) of impulsive behavior in heroin addicts. Methods The Iowa gambling task (IGT) were performed by using the paradigm for psychological experiment both in heroin addiction group (HA group) and health control group (HC group),the inspection of electroencephalography were underwent in all the subjects concurrently.Following the collection of data of ERP,amplitude and latency of P300 were compared between the two groups, and then the relationship betweenamplitude or latency of P300 and the results of Barratt impulsiveness scale were analyzed separately. Results Compared to HC group,BIS score as well as the numbers of high frequency loss cards were significantly higher in HA group ( HA:75.12 ± 12.49,91.14 ± 21.35 ; HC:66.54 ± 8.61,73.71 ± 18.91 ; P < 0.05 ),while the both two groups had visible waveforms of P30o,and the amplitude and latency were markedly lower ( HA:4.92 ± 1.14,293.43 ± 36.21 ; HC:7.65 ± 1.59,332.68 ± 40.15 ; P < 0.05 ) and were negatively associated with BIS score in HA group( r =-0.76,-0.52,P< 0.05).Logistic regression results showed that the scores of BIS-11 were related to amplitude of P30o merely( P < 0.05 ).Conclusion Impulsive behavior can be observed from the abnormal characteristic of the P300 event-related potential of impulsive behavior in heroin addicts, which may partly contribute to both addiction and relapse of heroin addict.

Objective To explore the abnormalities in the posterior cingulated cortex structure by voxel based morphometry(VBM)and changes of functional connectivity by resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)in long-term heroin addictions. Methods High-resolution volumetric T1-weighted images and resting state fMRI examination were performed on 13 long-term heroin addicts and 14 matched healthy volunteers. The T1-weighted images were processed using optimized voxel-based morphometry to investigate abnormalities in the gray matter,at the sarne time, the posterior cingulated cortex was setted as the region-of-interest(ROI)seed,with which a whole-brain voxel temporal correlation in low frequency fMRI fluctuations was calculated,to find changes of the posterior cingulated cortex functional connectivity. Results Compared with the control group, gray matter concentration significantly decreased in the posterior cingnlated cortex,at the same time, the functional connectivity between the left posterior cingulated cortex and the right temporal lobe was increased, but the functional connectivity between the left posterior eingulated cortex and the left thalamus, the left parietal lobe, the left cerebrum were all decreased in heroin addicts. At the same time, the functional connectivity between the fight posterior cingulated cortex and the left thalamus, the left parietal lobe, the left frontal lobe were decreased in heroin addicts(t testing,P<0.01).Conclusion The structure and the functional connectivity in posterior cingulated cortex in long-term heroin addicts are changed, which may affect the dysfunction of the addictive brain and the function of reward mechanism.

Objective To investigate the effect of Arsenic Trioxide(As_2O_3) combined with radiation on the apoptosis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells in vitro. Methods Using MTT and FCM to detect the cytotoxic and apoptosis at different As_2O_3 concentrations combined with 2Gy radiation on nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells(CNE1).Results Inhibition of cell proliferation seemed more dependent on the increase of As_2O_3 concentration.Cell survival rate was lower in the combination of As_2O_3 and radiation group than As_2O_3 alone. Conclusion As_2O_3 can enhance radiation effect obviously in nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells, especially at lower radiation dose.

Objective To compare the success rate and complication rate between real-time ultrasound-guided and technique modified methods of right subclavian vein puncture in tumor patients during implantation of totally implanted port, and to evaluate their effectiveness and safety. Methods We randomly divided 260 tumor patients into ultrasound-guided group and technique modified group, and compared the success rate, pneumothorax, arterial injury, ectopic catheter, local hematoma, puncture times, pinch-off syndrome,
