Objective To establish a patient-like human ovary carcinoma/spontaneous metastasis model using orthotopic transplantation of histologically intact tumor tissue. Methods An highly metastatic ovarian tumor line (8910PM: human serum carcinoma of the ovary) previously grown substaneously was transplanted into the ovicapaule using microsurgery technique. Histologically intact human ovary tumor pieces gained from implantation site were passaged between ovicapsules for four generations. Results All mice developed ovary tumors and the metastatic rates were about 50 %. The tumors only metastasized to liver. The earliest appearance of metastasis was 14 days and the average survival period was 20.7 ±4.89 days. The microscopic appearance of the metastases was similar to the tumor observed in the substaneous xenografts and orthotopically transplanted.Chromosomes analysis exhibited the feature of human carcinoma and retained genetic stability during the processes of passage. Conclusion Orthotopic implantation provides a suitable micro-environment in which ovarian cancer can express its intrinsic clinically-relevant properties. This approach is relevant to the spontaneous development of ovarian cancer and is thought to be a useful model for studies of metastatic mechanism and therapy for ovary cancer.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect and medical cost of different revascularization strategies for acute myocardial infarction (AMI) patients with multi-vessel disease (MVD).Methods A prospective randomized controlled trial (RCT) was conducted. From January 2009 to June 2012, patients with AMI and MVD undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) were enrolled. They were randomly assigned to group A [staged PCI for non-infarction related artery (non-IRA) within 7-10 days after AMI] and group B (subsequent PCI for non-IRA recommended only for those with evidence of ischemia). All of patients were given optimized medical therapy according to clinical guideline, and they were followed up for 24 months at regular intervals. Major adverse cardiovascular events(MACE) including recurrence of myocardial infarction and death due to cardiac ailments were recorded. Meanwhile, re-hospitalization from cardiac causes, recurrence of angina, heart failure, and re-PCI, number of stents, total hospital stay days, and total medical expenditure were recorded. Results A total of 428 patients accomplished the 24-month follow up. All the patients underwgennt PCI for non-IRA in group A (215 patients), while 62 patients in group B (213 patients) undergone PCI for myocardial ischemia, and 51 patients received non-IRA treatment. There was no significant difference in MACE incidence between group A and group B [8.4% (18/215) vs. 10.8% (23/213),χ2= 0.727,P = 0.394]. The difference of death rate due to cardiac causes (5.1% vs. 6.6%), recurrence of myocardial infarction (4.2% vs. 6.6%), and heart failure (4.2% vs. 7.0%) were not significantly different between groups A and B (allP> 0.05). The rate of recurrence of angina (14.4 % vs. 32.9%), re-hospitalization from cardiac causes (14.4% vs. 33.8%), and re-treatment of implanting stents (12.6% vs. 29.1%) were significantly lower in group A than group B (allP< 0.01), and the rate of revascularization was significantly higher in group A than group B (10.7% vs. 5.2%,P< 0.05). The total number of stents (610 vs. 366), mean number of stents per patient (2.83±0.91 vs. 1.72±0.91,t = 12.725,P = 0.000), and total cost per patient (kRMB: 63.7±12.6 vs. 51.5±12.3,t = 10.107,P = 0.000) in group A were significantly higher than those in group B. Total hospital stay days in group A was significantly less than group B (days: 8.21±2.45 vs. 9.89±3.23, t = 6.071,P = 0.000). Because non-IRA-vascular reconstruction rate was low in group B, the rate of usingβ-blocker and anti-anginal agents during the 24-month follow up in group B was significantly higher than group A [59.2% (126/213) vs. 47.0% (101/215),χ2= 6.371,P = 0.012; 56.3% (112/213) vs. 17.6% (36/215),χ2 = 64.704,P = 0.000]. Conclusions In patients with AMI and MVD undergone emergency PCI, staged PCI within 7-10 days for non-IRA cannot decrease the incidence of myocardial infarction and death due to cardiac causes, recurrence of angina and rehospitalization for cardiac causes was diminished, and it may increase the number of stents and medical cost significantly.

Objective To investigate the prevalence and risk factors of H-type hypertension among middle-aged and elderly people in Beijing community. Methods A cross-sectional study by recruiting 1 458 middle-aged and elderly people from a cohort of the "Beijing Longitudinal Study of Aging" in 2009 was conducted. All participants were asked to complete a standardized questionnaire, physical examination and laboratory examinations. Hyperhomocysteinemia was defined as homocysteine (Hcy) > 15 μmol/L, and H- type hypertension was defined as having hypertension and hyperhomocysteinemia simultaneously. The prevalence of H-type hypertension was estimated by using the results of 2000 Beijing population census to weight the data. Multivariate Logistic regression analysis was preformed to estimate the associated factors of H-type hypertension. Results The age was (69.48 ± 8.09) years, and the distribution of Hcy was skewed with the median of 16.56 μmol/L. After weight, the prevalence of hyperhomocysteinemia was 57.20% (834/1 458), and the prevalence of H-type hypertension was 35.32% (515/1 458), accounting for 59.47% (515/866) in patients with hypertension. The ageing, male, hyperuricemia, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) and insufficiency of fishes/ shrimps were independent risk factors of H-type hypertension ( OR = 2.30, 1.04, 1.02, 0.95 and 0.67; 95% CI 1.54-3.44, 1.02-1.06, 1.04-1.06, 0.94-0.97 and 0.46-0.97; P<0.01 or<0.05). Conclusions The proportion of H-type hypertension is high in the middle-aged and elderly people in Beijing community. Lowering uric acid, protection of renal function and intake sufficient fishes and shrimps might prevent and control H-type hypertension.

Objective To investigate the prevalence characters of peripheral artery disease (PAD) and associated factors among people aged 35 and above in Beijing. Methods This was a cross?sectional study. A total of 5 208 community?based individuals aged equal and above 35 in Beijing were chosen with stratified multistage random sampling method. Structure questionnaire was used to collected the information of demographic factors, habits and chronic disease history. Ankle brachial blood pressure was detected and ankle brachial index (ABI) was calculated. ABI was used to diagnose PAD (ABI≤0.90). Based on the 2010 Beijing Municipal Population Census, the age?and gender?specific weight?adjusted sample was acquired to estimate the prevalence of PAD and corresponding 95% confidence intervals ( CI ). Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to estimate the associated factors of PAD. Results The age?and sex?standardized prevalence of PAD was 3.84% (200/5 208, 95%CI 3.32%-4.36%). There was no significant difference between male and female (3.83%(102/2 664 ,95%CI 3.10%-4.56%) vs. 3.85% (98/2 544,95% CI 3.10%-4.60%), P=0.965). The prevalence of PAD in urban was higher than that in rural (4.34% (163/3 755,95%CI 3.69%-4.99%) vs. 2.55% (37/1 453,95%CI 1.74%-3.36%), P=0.001). Furthermore, the prevalence of PAD increased with age (Ptrend<0.01), and the difference between genders did not change with ageing (all P>0.05). In addition, age (OR=1.03, 95%CI 1.01-1.04), urban (OR=1.52, 95%CI 1.08-2.12), smoking ( OR=1.83, 95%CI 1.29-2.59), hypertension ( OR=1.61, 95%CI 1.17-2.22) and diabetes (OR=1.44, 95%CI 1.08-1.93) were related with increased risk of PAD in logistic regression analysis models. Conclusions The prevalence of PAD increases with age in Beijing and there are significant difference between urban and rural on prevalence of PAD. Age, urban, smoking, hypertension and diabetes are related with increased risk of PAD.

Objective:To explore effects of the total number of night shifts on BMI of medical workers in recent 5 years. Methods:This study was a cross-sectional study. Using the convenient sampling method, data of medical workers in Affiliated Hospital of Jining Medical University were collected from January 2016 to December 2020. The medical examination data of medical workers were obtained from the electronic information system of medical examination center, and the number of night shift and basic information of medical workers are extracted from the human resource management department. The covariates in this study included categorical variables and continuous variables. Categorical variables included gender, job title and job type. Continuous variables included age, working years, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, white blood cells, red blood cells, hemoglobin, average hemoglobin volume, platelets, ALT, total bilirubin, total protein, albumin, urea, creatinine, uric acid, triacylglycerol, Total cholesterol, HDL-C, LDL-C and glucose. The relationship between the number of night shift and BMI was processed by generalized addition model and smoothing curve fitting. Results:Finally, a total of 908 medical workers were selected for data analysis. The average number of night shifts for 908 medical workers in 5 years was (339.0±30.8) , and the average BMI was (22.88±2.08) kg/m 2. After adjusting for confounding factors, the number of night shift showed a non-linear relationship with BMI, and the number of inflection points was 634. On the left of the inflection point, there was no significant relationship between the number of night shifts and BMI ( P=0.829) . The relationship between the two on the right side of the inflection point was significant, the effect size and 95% confidence interval were 0.02 and 0.01-0.03, respectively. Conclusions:BMI value of medical workers increases significantly with the increase of night shift number when the number of night shift is more than 634 in recent 5 years. Hospital managers can calculate and plan the number of night shifts per year to reduce the effect of night shifts on the health of medical workers.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of long-pulsed 1 064-nm Nd:YAG laser combined with a topical emulsion containing Camellia reticulata and Radix Notoginseng in the treatment of melasma. Methods:A total of 80 patients with melasma were enrolled from Department of Dermatology, People′s Hospital of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region from June 2019 to June 2020, and randomly and equally divided into control group and observation group by using a random number table: 40 patients in the control group were treated with long-pulsed 1 064-nm Nd:YAG laser once every 2 weeks for 6 sessions as a course of treatment; another 40 in the observation group were treated with the same laser therapy as the control group and a topical emulsion containing Camellia reticulata and Radix Notoginseng twice a day for 3 months as a course of treatment. Melasma area and severity index (MASI), clinical efficacy, patient satisfaction rate and safety were compared between the 2 groups before and/or after treatment. Results:After 4- and 8-week treatment, there was no significant difference in the MASI score between the observation group (14.57 ± 3.22 points, 10.00 ± 2.94 points, respectively) and control group (14.74 ± 3.11 points, 11.31 ± 3.00 points, respectively; both P>0.05). After 12-week treatment, the MASI score was significantly lower in the observation group (4.80 ± 2.78 points) than in the control group (7.07 ± 3.22 points, t = -3.38, P<0.01). After 3-month treatment, the response rate was significantly higher in the observation group (36 cases, 90%) than in the control group (31 cases, 77.5%; χ2 = 4.58, P < 0.001) ; however, there was no significant difference in the patient satisfaction rate between the observation group (87.5%) and control group (72.5%, χ2 = 7.26, P = 0.06). In addition, no significant difference in the occurrence of adverse reactions was observed between the observation group (5 cases, 12.5%) and control group (7 cases, 17.5%; P > 0.05) . Conclusion:Compared with the long-pulsed 1 064-nm Nd:YAG laser alone, the topical emulsion containing Camellia reticulata and Radix Notoginseng in combination with the long-pulsed 1 064-nm Nd:YAG laser is more effective for the treatment of melasma, with higher patient satisfaction and less adverse reactions.
