Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 1989;0(02):-
The automatic gain control circuit is designed on the basis of MSP430F149 microcomputer with the chopper amplifier, and then continuous stepless regulation of pulse wave signal is fulfilled. Thus individual variation -induced problems are eliminated such as signal baseline drift and saturation. With this circuit, medical instruments can be portable and low-power-consumption.

Ultrasonic sensors are optimal to the guidance system for the blind. The previous ultrasonic guidance systems acquire the position information of obstacles, and transform it into audio signal or tactile vibration. The system developed in this paper, utilizing programmable gain technique and digital potentiometer, acquires the power of reflected ultrasonic as additional information, and informs the blind with modulated audio signal. In this paper, the studies on programmable gain is described detailed including the hardware structure, the software design and information post processing.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2004;0(07):-
Lives are maintained by enough oxygen.Blood oxygen saturation is one of the important parameters which reflects oxygen concentration in blood. The accurate monitoring of blood oxygen saturation is very important to both physiological research and medical application. At present,dual-wavelength method is widely adopted in noninvasive detection of blood oxygen saturation. Therefore, accurate recognition of peak-to-peak value of pulse waveform is a key process in monitoring blood oxygen saturation. In the paper,LMS self-adaptive arithmetic is applied to processing pulse waveform signal. The ratio of corrective detection is improved by the method.

Salsola collina is widely distributed in droughty and semi-droughty area, which is used as a kind of folk remedy in traditional Chinese medicine for treatment of hypertension. The study is on the chemical constituents of this herb from its aerial parts to obtain its active constituents. Dried and crushed aerial parts of this herb were extracted three times with 95% EtOH at reflux. The ethanol extracts were combined and concentrated under reduced pressure at 70 ℃ to yield residue, which was suspended in water and successively partitioned with light petroleum, chloroform and n-butanol. The chloroform and n-butanol fractions were treated by various chromatographic techniques, such as silica gel, C18 reversed-phase silica gel and macroporous resin column chromatography. Compounds were elucidated by their physicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis. In the course of our study on searching biological active components from this herb, a new alkaloid together with three known alkaloids were isolated and identified as N-transferuloyl-3-methyldopamine (1), 3-[4-(β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-3- methoxyphenyl]-N-[2-(4-hydroxyl-3-methoxyphenyl)ethyl]-2-propenamide (2), salsoline A (3), salsoline B (4). Compound 4 is a new compound and named as salsoline B, while compound 2 was obtained in Salsola collina for the first time.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2009;11(6):750-753
Objective In this study we investigated the expression and protective mechanisms of Hsp22 and VEGF in brain tissue following cerebral ischemic reperfusion in gerbils and whether they are correlative. Method Forty five gerbils were randomly divided into there groups: Normal Group (n =5) ,Sham-operated Group and Ischemia-Reperfusion Group (I/R). Sham-operated Group and I/R Group were divided into four subgroups (each group has five animals) : 6 hours group, lday group, 3days group, 7days group. Histological analysis of tissue injury was carried out by staining with haematoxylin and eosin haematoxylin and eosin (HE). Result The tissues of normal group and sham-operated group was integrated, but that of I/R were changed with gliocyte hyperplasia and hypertrophia, interstitial edema, cellular edema, gliocyte and neuron edema , neuron necrosis. The data presented here provided a positive correlation between expression of Hsp22 and VEGF. Conelusions There was a positive correlation between expression of Hsp22 and VEGF after gerbils brain I/R injury.

OBJECTIVETo study the related risk factors for surgical site infection following Pilon fracture surgery. METH ODS: The data of 561 patients with Pilon fractures treated with open reduction plate osteosynthesis at our institution's trauma centre were collected from January 2006 to December 2012. All the patients were divided into two groups: infection group and non-infection group. In the infection group, there were 23 males and 10 females, ranging in age from 21 to 69 years old, with an average of (45.50±4.40) years old. In the non-infection group, there were 296 males and 232 females, ranging in age from 16 to 76 years old, with an average of (43.50±7.19) years old. The possible risk factors such as age, gender, smoking, diabetes, alcohol abuse, open fractures, compartment syndrome and operative time were studied. The multivariate Logistic regression model was used to analyze the risk, factors.
RESULTSThe infection rate of surgical site after Pilon fracture surgery was 5.88%. There were significant statistical differences between infection group and non-infection group in operative time, open fractures and compartment syndrome. However, multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that only operative time was significantly associated with surgical site infection (P=0.005, OR=44.92).
CONCLUSIONOperation time is an independent predictor for post-operative surgical site infection of Pilon fracture treated with open reduction plate osteosynthesis. Though open fracture and compartment syndrome could increase the surgical site infection rate, they could not not be considered as independent predictors.

We describe two cases in which a forceps imprintdeveloped in the AcrySof ReSTOR IOL optic whileinserting these IOLs into the cartridge with straightclamping forceps. In case 1 ,the AcrySof ReSTOR IOL wasexplanted and observed under scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM). The SEM showed that the stepdesign of ReSTOR Multifocal IOL was well maintained. Incase 2, visual acuity, contrast sensitivity and wavefrontmeasurements were performed and no specific changeswere found. Strong evidence does not exist that suggeststhe on-axis forceps imprint can significantly compromisevisual acuity.
