OBJECTIVE:To compare the contents of 2 index components in salt frying and salt steaming samples of Psoralea corylifolia, and select better processing technology. METHODS:Under the conditions that ratio of salt and medicinal materials was 1:50,4-5 times salt of adding water, brine run time was 2 h,the amounts of psoralen and isopsoralen in salt frying samples after 10,12,14 min of frying under 150 ℃,170 ℃,190 ℃ and in salt steaming samples after 1,1.5,2,2.5 h of steaming were re-spectively investigated, and the effects of 2 processing technology were compared. RESULTS:Under fixed condition, the contents of index components was the highest in salt frying samples by fried for 12 min under 150 ℃ and in salt steaming samples by steamed for 1 h;the content in salt steaming samples (1.49%) was higher than that in salt frying samples (1.29%)(P=0.011). CONCLUSIONS:According to the comparison of index components'contents in processing samples, salt steaming is superior to salt frying of P. corylifolia.

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of Argon laser photocoagulation on macular choroidal neovascularization. Methods 57 cases(58eyes)with macular choroidal neovascularization were treated with Argon laser photocoagulation, the visual acuity, the changing of macular choroidal neovascularization and macular hemorrhage before and after treatment were observed and compared with 34 cases(34eyes)with macular choroidal neovascularization who were treated with drugs. The average follow-up was 48(from2 to 84) months. Results The retinal hemorrhage decreased evidently in cases treated with laser coagulation. The hemorrhage absorb in therapeutic group is more evident than that in control group,There are statistically difference between the two groups(0.01<P<0.05).There are sig- nificantly difference between the two groups in increased visual acuity and choroidal neovascularization disappeared(P<0.01).Couclu- sions Argon laser photocoagulation is effective on macular cloroidal neovasculurition.

Objective To study the predictive value of serum hyaluronic acid (HA) levels for morphological progression of osteoarthritis (OA).Methods Seventy New Zealand white rabbits were randomly and equally divided into the OA group and the normal control group.OA was induced by injecting 0.5 ml of 2% papain into the left knee joints and the same volume of sterile saline solution was injected Into right knee joints in control group. The serum HA levels were detected at 1,2,4,6,8,10 and 12 weeks after injection. Then magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and pathohistological changes were observed.T test was used for the analysis of measurment.Resuts Compared with the control group, degeneration changes were found in the OA group, such as thinner articular cartilage, fibrillation and destroyed cartilage matrix, and inflammation, proliferation and degeneration of the synovial tissue. All these changes were much worse with prolonged observation time. The serum HA levels were increased [12 week:(657±132) ng/ml,vs (166±8) ng/ml],which correlate with structural damage. Conclusion Serum HA levels had a predictive value for further development of OA.

Objective To explore the relationship between quality of life and sub-health state of Guangdong urban dwellers. Methods A total of 2 200 urban dwellers were investigated using SF-36 and Sub-Heahh Measurement Scale Version 1.0(SHMS V1.0).Results As for the scores in PCS,MCS,psychosocial symptom, cognitive function, social adaptability, those of man urban dwellers (respectively (78.89± 15.25),(73.15 ± 15.26),(63.73± 18.82),(62.13± 19.34),(68.04± 17.90)) were higher than those of woman dwellers (respectively(76.98± 14.20),(71.76± 14.72),(60.53± 18.28),(57.00± 17.89),(65.73± 17.07)).The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).Bivariate correlation analysis showed that the PCS and MCS of quality of life were positively related with all dimensions of sub-health (P<0.001).Canonical correlation analysis indicated that vitality, social adaptability, psychosocial symptom and positive emotion were the main factors of sub-health status, and MCS was of quality of life. Conclusion Sub-health state of Guangdong urban dwellers is positively related with quality of life, and the more serious sub-health state is,the worse quality of life is.Therefore, intervention of subhealth and quality of life should be targeted to be strengthened according to the investigation.

Journal of Biomedical Engineering 2015;32(2):330-335
Magnetic resonance (MR) images can be used to detect lesions in the brains of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). An automatic method is presented for segmentation of MS lesions using multispectral MR images in this paper. Firstly, a Pd-w image is subtracted from its corresponding T1-w images to get an image in which the cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) is enhanced. Secondly, based on kernel fuzzy c-means clustering (KFCM) algorithm, the enhanced image and the corresponding T2-w image are segmented respectively to extract the CSF region and the CSF-MS lesions combinatoin region. A raw MS lesions image is obtained by subtracting the CSF region from CSF-MS region. Thirdly, based on applying median filter and thresholding to the raw image, the MS lesions were detected finally. Results were tested on BrainWeb images and evaluated with Dice similarity coefficient (DSC), sensitivity (Sens), specificity (Spec) and accuracy (Acc). The testing results were satisfactory.

Objective To explore the influence of humanistic care on psychological stress in diag-nostic process for patients with lung cancer. Methods 40 suspicious lung cancer patients were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to admission sequence. The control group ac-cepted routine care, the experimental group received humanistic care based upon routine care. Zung's self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) and self- rating depression scale(SDS) were applied in two groups at admission day and 2 days post- diagnosis, the results underwent comparison with norm using t test. Results On ad-mission day 2 groups showed no significant difference in SAS and SDS, 2 days post- diagnosis the SAS and SDS score were evidently lower than those of the control group. Conclusions Lung cancer patients were in anxiety and depression condition during diagnostic process, and humanistic care could effectively relieve their psychological stress.

Journal of Third Military Medical University 2003;0(15):-
Objective To study the changes in tumor necrosis alpha(TNF ?), interleukin 6(IL 6), procalcitonin(PCT) and C reactive protein (CRP) levels and their values in the prediction and assisting diagnosis of infection complications in severe multiple trauma patients. Methods TNF ?, IL 6 and CRP were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbant assay(ELISA) and PCT was determined by immunoluminometric assay(ILMA) in serial samples of plasma from 34 patients with severe multiple trauma(ISS≥16) and compared with those of 11 normal control volunteers. Patients were divided into 2 groups(infection and non infection groups). The differences of the above parameters between groups were compared. In addition, all data were managed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC), and sensitivity, specificity, negative and positive predictive values for the diagnosis of infection complications were calculated. Results Plasma levels of TNF ?, IL 6, PCT and CRP in multiple trauma patients without infection complications were increased differently in the early posttrauma period. TNF ? and CRP levels in the early posttrauma period before infection were not significantly different from those in patients without infection complications, but they increased significantly following infection. However, during the whole observing period, plasma levels of PCT and IL 6 in the patients with infection complications were higher than those in patients without. The value of those parameters in assisting diagnosis of infection was evaluated. PCT was of the highest specificity and higher negative and positive predictive values. Conclusion All the parameters are of clinical value in infection diagnosis after severe multiple trauma. PCT is the best index for the prediction and assisting diagnosis of infection after multiple trauma.
