OBJECTIVE: To offer support for optimizing marketing strategy and increasing consumption in drug retailing.METHODS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database was established,the data mining method was subjected to a correlation analysis using association rules with the daily sales data in a retail drugstore in Jiangsu as an example.RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS: The data mining of drug retailing consists of 4 items: construction of drug sales data mart,data pretreatment,data mining,and analysis of mining results.The application of the data mining in retail drugstore can help analyze the purchase tendency of customers,find out potential customers and increase sales volume.

Objective To investigate the physical and mechanical properties of home-made bone cement mixed with different antibiotics.Methods The specimens of bone cement each of 40g were divid-ed in to6groups depending on mixed antibiotics,groupⅠmixed with1g gentamicin,groupⅡwith2g gen tam icin,groupⅢwith1g cephradine,groupⅣwith1.5g cefuroxine,groupⅤwith1g ceftriaxone and groupⅥwith out any antibiotics served as control.The dough time,compressing depth,compressive strength,bending strength and bending elastic modulus were measured respectively,elution examination of antibiotics from bone ce ment was performed by chromatography.Results The dough time and compress-ing depth of the groups were better than that of ISO5833standard,and there was no significant difference a-mong the groups.The com pressive strength and bending strength of the groupⅡwere lower than that ISO5833standard,but there was no significant difference among the groups by analysis of variance.The bending elastic modulus of the groupⅡwas lower than the control group and other groups(P

Objective To evaluate the incorporation of BPA, which was synthesized by ourselves, by two different glioma cell lines, and to observe its relationship with the time of cultivation and cell cycle. Methods Two glioma cell lines of C6 and SHG-44 were studied and the primarily cultured rat astrocytes were used as control. The growth curves of the two glioma cell lines and rat astrocytes were plotted, and their doubling time was identified respectively from the curves. All three kinds of cells were incubated in a culture medium, in which 10 B concentration was 50?g/ml for 4h, 8h, 16h, 20h or 24h. Boron concentration in the cells was measured by induced couple plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) after respective culture period. After 24h of incubation, the cells in the G 0 /G 1 phase and those in the G 2 /M phase were isolated by flow cytometry, and boron concentration in each fraction was obtained by ICP-AES. Results The doubling time was 18.5h for both C6 and SHG-44 cells, but 28h for the astrocytes. OBJECTIVE To investigate the clinical and etiologic characteristics and treatment of central venous catheter-related(sepsis).METHODS Forty cases of patients with central venous catheter-related sepsis and their clinical manifestation,etiologic profiles and outcome of treatment were retrospectively analyzed.RESULTS Forty six strains were isolated including 23 strains of Gram-positive cocci,19 of Gram-negative bacilli and 4 of fungi.The most frequent(isolates) were Staphylococcus epidermidis.CONCLUSIONS The most common organism causing CRS is S.epidermidis;the key preventive measure is to avoid inner and outer pollution of catheter;antibiotic lock-technique can be taken for the treatment of uncertain CRS.If it is no effect after 24-48 hours,it is necessary to remove venous catheter promptly.

Objective To examine the differentially expressed invasion-related genes in two anchorage-independent uterine cervical carcinoma cell lines derived from the same patient using a cDNA array. Methods Two human uterine cervical carcinoma subclonal cell lines CS03 and CS07 derived from a single donor line CS1213 were established by limited dilution procedure. The two cDNA samples retro-transcribed from total RNA derived from CS03 and CS07 cells were screened by a cDNA microarray carrying 234 human cell-cycle related genes and 1011 human signal transduction and membrane receptor -associated genes, scanned with a ScanArray 3000 laser scanner. Results The cDNA microarray analysis showed that 12 genes in CS03 were up-regulated compared to CS07, and 24 genes in CS07 were up-regulated. The function of a number of differentially expressed genes was consistently associated with cell-cycle, cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis, signal transduction and tumor metastasis, including p34cdc2, TSC22, plasminogen activator inhibitor I (PAI-1)and desmosome associated protein(Pinin). Conclusion Multiple genes are differentially expressed in uterine cervical carcinoma cell lines even came from the same patient. It is suggested that these genes are involved in the different phenotypic characteristics and development of cervical carcinoma.

Objective To explore the relationship between CA repeats polymorphism in the promoter region of IGF-1 gene and MS in the Han nationality.Methods 1047 subjects were recruited from general population of Dongcheng District in Beijing.MS was diagnosed based on the criteria for MS in 2005 by IDF.Genomic DNA was extracted by standard methods.PCR,Genescan,Genotyper and direct sequencing were conducted to screen CA repeats polymorphism in the promoter region of the human IGF-1 gene.Levels of plasma glucose,lipids,serum insulin and IGF-1 were determined.BMI and ISI were calculated.Results The prevalence of MS in (CA) 19 homozygote was lower than that in (CA) 19 heterozygote (9.1% vs 18.3%,x2 = 8.55,P ＜ 0.01) and without (CA) 19 (9.1% vs 24.0%,x2 = 18.05,P ＜ 0.01).The level of serum IGF-1 had differences among the three groups [ (114.0 ± 52.6) μg/L vs (136.6 ± 80.5) μg/L vs (129.2±49.1) μg/L,F =3.16,P ＜0.05],(CA)19 homozygote had lower serum IGF-1 than (CA)19heterozygote and without (CA) 19.BMI,WC,TG,FIns,2hIns and ISI had difference among the three groups (P ＜0.05).Conclusions (CA)19 repeats polymorphism in the promoter region of IGF-1 gene was significantly associated with MS in Han nationality.
