Objective To explore the expression of aquaporin (AQP)-4 in white matter of spinal cord after spinal cord contusion (SCC). Methods 88 adult Sprague-Dawley rats were assigned randomly to sham operation group and SCC group. The model was established by Al-len's method. BBB sore was used to assess the motor function of rats. The relative expression of AQP-4 mRNA was determined by Q-PCR technique. The localization of AQP-4 was observed by immunohistochemistry. Results BBB score showed motor dysfunction in SCC group, and it increased 7 and 14 days after SCC (t>5.061, P<0.001). The level of AQP-4 mRNA decreased on the 1st and 3rd days (t>50.44, P<0.001), and increased on the 5th day (t=-3.968, P=0.001), and lasted until the 28th day (t=-4.227, P=0.001) compared with that on the 3rd day. The immunohistochemistry showed AQP-4 was located on the process of glial cell and vascular endothelial cells in white matter of spi-nal cord. Conclusion AQP-4 may play various roles at different stages in SCC.

Thermogravimetry (TG), TG-MS, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM)-energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) were adopted to investigate the pyrolysis characteristics of calamina. According to the findings of the qualitative and quantitative studies on the changes in the content of relevant elements, the whole shape, the functional groups, and the volatile components of calamina before and after being pyrolyzed, the 200-360, 580-750 degrees C were two sensitive temperature ranges related to the changes in effective component during calamina processing. Thermal weight loss was observed for ZnCO3, Zn(OH)2 and ZnCO3-2Zn(OH)2-H2O under 200-360 degrees C and for CaCO3 under 580-750 degrees C. The results of studies on chemical reaction kinetics showed good linear relations. This experiment integrated relevant methods and theories of physical chemistry and science of traditional Chinese medicine processing, and interpretes calamina processing techniques and mechanism, in order to provide a good example for modem studies on other traditional Chinese medicine processing.

Objective:To explore the effect of Dachengqi Decoction and enteral nutrition on the recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients with gastric cancer. Methods:From September 2018 to September 2019, 100 patients with gastric cancer undergoing radical gastrectomy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, each group contained 50 cases. Among them, the control group was given routine diet before operation to provide pre adaptation of enteral nutrient solution; the observation group was added with Dachengqi Decoction on the basis of routine diet. The recovery of gastrointestinal function, plasma motilin (MTL), serum gastrin (GAS) and gastrointestinal complications were observed and compared between the two groups. Results:There were 3 cases of abdominal distention and diarrhea in the control group, 1 case of diarrhea and 1 case of nausea and vomiting in the control group. The total incidence of gastrointestinal complications was 16% (8/50). There was 1 case of abdominal distention and 1 case of diarrhea in the observation group, and the total incidence of gastrointestinal complications was 4%(2/50). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( χ2 value was 4.000, P<0.05). In the observation group, the time of first bowel sounds, exhaust time and defecation time were (26.12 ± 5.32) h, (25.49 ± 4.49) h, (32.63 ± 4.31) h, respectively, which were significantly shorter than those in the control group (32.24 ± 6.41) h, (46.74 ± 6.14) h, (49.51 ± 6.28) h, and the difference was statistically significant ( t value was 5.195, 19.754, 15.671, P<0.05). The plasma MTL and serum gas in the observation group were (346.54 ± 18.58) ng/L, (123.44 ± 6.19) ng/L. After operation, the results were (247.24 ± 11.40) ng/L, (85.46 ± 5.12) ng/L. The difference was statistically significant ( t value was 97.793, 250.990, P<0.05). The plasma MTL and serum gas of the control group before operation were (344.63±16.65) ng/L and (122.53 ± 6.35) ng/L respectively. After operation, the results were (205.84±10.21)ng/L, (64.79±5.24) ng/L. The difference was statistically significant ( t value was 152.390, 367.823, P<0.05). The levels of plasma MTL and serum gas in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group ( t value was 19.129, 19.95, P<0.05). Conclusions:The modified Dachengqi Decoction and the pre adaptation of enteral nutrition solution are helpful to reduce the occurrence of various gastrointestinal complications after gastric cancer operation and promote the rapid recovery of gastrointestinal function, which may be related to the promotion of the secretion of MTL and gas.

BackgroundResearches found that the posterior capsular opacification (PCO) after lensextraction is associated with the elevation of the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β).To seek the drug for inhibitingproliferation of lens epithelial cells (LECs) is crucial in the treatment and prevention of PCO.ObjectiveThisstudy was to investigate the preventing effects of decorin on the proliferation of LECs.MethodsRabbit LECs wascultured and passaged. The LECs in growth phase were incubated in 96 well plate at the density of 8×106/L.Decorinwith the concentrations 0.1,1.0,10.0 mg/L was added into the medium for 24,48 and 72 hours respectively.0.1%DMSO was used at the same way as positive control group, and the regular cultured cells worked as blank controlgroup. The inhibitory rates of different concentrations of decorin on the growth of LECs were detected by MTT at 24,48and 72 hours after addition of decorin. The percentage of LECs in different cell cycles in various groups was assayedusing flow cytometry.TGF-β level in medium suspension was detected using ELISA.The expression of TGF-β mRNA in LECs was checked by RT-PCR,and α-SMA expression in LECs was determined using immunochemistry. Results ELISA assay showed a statistical difference in the TGF-β levels of different groups (F=39.24,P=0.03 ).The TGF-β levels in 1.0,10.0 mg/L decorin groups were significantly decreased in comparison with blank control group (P<0.01) and 0.1 mg/L decorin group (P<0.05 ).The inhibitory rates of decorin in the concentrations of ≥ 1.0 mg/L on the growth of LECs were higher than the blank control group, and those in various concentrations of decorin groups were considerably lower in 24 hours compared with 48 and 72 hours ( P<0.05 ) and so was the 48 hours compared with 72 hours (P<0.05 ).The percentages of LECs in G0/G1 phase were ascent in 0.1,1.0 and 10.0 mg/L decorin groups in comparison with G2/M and S phase (P<0.05).Immunochemistry revealed the weak expression of α-SMA in various decorin groups in comparison with control group. Conclusions Decorin can effectively inhibit LECs growth and induce LECs apoptosis in concentration- and time-dependent manner. It is suggested that decorin can be used in the prevention and treatment of after cataract.

This study is to evaluate the effects of Shenmai injection on the temporal alterations of action potential (AP), early afterdepolarization (EAD) and delayed afterdepolarization (DAD) in papillary muscles. The action potentials were recorded by a glass electrode. APD at 90% repolarization (APD9 ) was measured, and spontaneous EAD and DAD were observed. The results show APD90 was significantly prolonged in model group compared with sham-operated group, whereas it was remained unchanged in Shenmai injec- tion treatment group and amiodarone group. The spontaneous EADs and DADs were frequently visible in model group. In conclusion, EAD, DAD and trigger activities increase gradually during pathological progression of rat cardiac hypertrophy, and Shenmai injection could improve the action potential change in rat cardiac hypertrophy.
