Professor LI Zhi-dao, according to acupoint selection of syndrome differentiation in TCM basic theory, concluded a new therapy, namely "tonifying three qi" that is mainly based on three acupoints in the Conception Vessel. This method is consisted of Danzhong (CV 17), Zhongwan (CV 12) and Qihai (CV 6) in the Conception Vessel, which could successively nourish clear qi, stomach qi and original qi. In clinic, according to the severity of symptoms of three qi, the acupoints are selected flexibly, which could respectively treat deficiency of heart-lung qi, deficiency of stomach-spleen qi and deficiency of original qi. Some examples are also given in the article.

The design space of the high shear wet granulation process was established and validated within the framework of quality by design (QbD). The system of microcrystalline cellulose-de-ioned water was used in this study. The median granule size and bulk density of granules were identified as critical quality attributes. Plackeet-Burmann experimental design was used to screen these factors as follows: dry mixing time, the impeller and chopper speed of dry mixing, water amount, water addition time, wet massing time, the impeller and chopper speed of wet massing and drying time. And the optimization was implemented with the central composite experimental design based on screened critical process parameters. The design space of the high shear wet granulation process was established based on the quadratic polynomial regression model. Since the P-values of both models were less than 0.05 and values of lack of fit were more than 0.1, the relationship between critical quality attributes and critical process parameters could be well described by the two models. The reliability of design space, illustrated by overlay plot, was improved with the addition of 95% confidence interval. For those granules whose process parameters were in the design space, the granule size could be controlled within 250 to 355 μm, and the bulk density could be controlled within a range of 0.4 to 0.6 g x cm(-3). The robustness and flexibility of the high shear wet granulation process have been enhanced via the establishment of the design space based on the QbD concept.

Objective To investigate the analgesic effect of salmon calcitonin(sCT)and its effect on expression of calcitonin receptor(CT-R)in periaqueductal gray(PAG). Methods Rat models of neuropathic pain were prepared by chronic constriction injury(CCI). Thermal withdrawal latency(TWL)and mechanical nociceptive threshold(MNT)were measured using hot plate test and yon Frey monofilaments test. The distribution of CT-R in PAG was detected by immunohistochemical method. CT-R protein was quantitatively determined by western blotting. Fourty male SD rats were randomized into 5 groups: normal group, sham-CCI group, CCI group, CCI plussubcutaneous sCT group, and CCI plus microinjection of sCT into PAG group. Results TWL, MNT, andexpression of CT-R in PAG showed no difference between normal group and sham-CCI group(P＞0. 05). TWL and MNT in CCI group were significantly lower than those in normal group(P＜0.05), and expression of CT-R in CCI group was significantly higher than that in normal group(P＜0.05). TWL, MNT and expression of CT-R in CCI rats increased significantly after sCT therapy(P＜0. 05), and the effect was more marked in PAG injection group than subcutaneous injection group(P＜0.05). Conclusions sCT raises the pain threshold and increase the expression of CT-R in PAG of CCI rats, while PAG injection showed more marked effect than subcutaneous injection.

The implementation of knowledge management (KM) in hospitals affects efficiency and outcomes of hospitals.However,few studies explored the implementation of KM in China.Twenty-two questions were designed concerning KM implementation status in over 50 hospitals.In order to understand the KM level and attitude to KM of the hospital's managers,a random sampling survey was conducted among 138 managers from 50 different scales of hospitals in 15 provinces of China.The survey showed that overall level of KM implementation in Chinese hospitals was still low and differed among different scales of hospitals (P＜0.05,or P＜0.01).In all the hospitals investigated,63.8％ did not implement KM yet,among which 46％ even had not planned for that.49.8％ of the hospitals investigated had no training program about KM ever and the main source of hospital staff to get knowledge was iuternet.It suggested that hospital managers should make much more efforts to get to know and understand theories on KM,so that hospital KM could be promoted more rapidly.

Objective To observe the expression of the polysialic acid neural cell adhesion molecule ( PSA-NCAM) in the hippocampus of rats after exposure to low intensity ( 16 Hz,90 dB) infrasound for different periods.Methods One hundred and twenty male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into infrasound exposure and normal groups.The exposure group was tjem further divided into 1 day,7 days,14 days and 21 days exposure groups.After exposure,the rats' brains were removed and an immunohistochemical technique was used to observe the expression of PSA-NCAM in the hippocampus after 1,7,14 or 21 days of exposure. Methods The expression of PSA-NCAM had increased significantly after exposure for 7 days. It peaked at 14 days,then had decreased by 21 days,but always remaining higher than in the normal group.After the infrasound exposure had ended,the expression of PSA-NCAM demonstrated a tendency of decrease over time,and the least was on the 21st day.The largest decrease was observed in the 14 days exposure groups. Conclusion 16 Hz,90 dB infrasound can increase the expression of PSA-NCAM in the hippocampus,at least in rats.This suggests that low intensity infrasound might initiate recovery of an injured central nervous system.Migration of neural stem cells may aid in the repair of neural injuries resulted from infrasound exposure.

Objective To study the influences of mental disorders on female systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)and analyze the factors. Methods We used symptom check list -90 (SCL-90) as a basis for judging mental disorders disease activity. Disease activity, social support and depreciation - discrimination were used as possible influencing factors. Social support and discomfort – discrimination were possible influencing factors. Multivariate unconditional logistic regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of mental disorders. Results The total score of SCL-90 of patients with female SLE was significantly higher than that of norm models ［(136.39±48.66) vs (129.96±38.76)］ (P<0.05), in 289 SLE patients, the number of patients with mental disorders was 128 (44.3%). High monthly income(OR=0.770, 95% CI:0.604-0.981, P=0.034) was a protective factor for mental disorders. High disease activity (OR=1.792, 95% CI:1.023-3.138, P=0.042)and high discomfort–discrimination (OR=1.100, 95% CI:1.035-1.169, P=0.002)were risk factors for mental disorders. Conclusions Female SLE patients have a higher risk of mental disorders than the general population. And eliminating self-depreciation, reducing social discrimination, active employment, increasing monthly income, standardizing treatment and reducing disease activity may effectively alleviate mental disorders in SLE patients.

OBJECTIVETo establish an HPLC method for the determination of three kind of diester diterpenoid alkaloids (DDAs) in Aconitum carmichaeli and its processed products namely mesaconitine, aconitine and hypaconitine.

METHODA Zorbax Eclipse XDB C18 column was used, and ammonium acetate solution-acetonitrile as the mobile phase, with a flow rate of 1.0 mL x min(-1) and a detection wavelength of 230 nm.

RESULTMesaconitine, aconitine and hypaconitine, were separated, and the calibration curves of them were in good linearity over the range of 0.035 7-1.784 microg (r = 0.9999), 0.0126-0.632 microg (r = 0.9997) and 0.0334-1.672 microg (r = 0.9997) respectively.

CONCLUSIONThis method is simple and accurate. It can be used in the identification and quality control of A. carmichaeli.

Objective:To investigate the effect of inhibiting of HOXB7 gene expression on proliferation and apoptosis of colon cancer cells.Methods:The synthetic negative control siRNA (negative control group) and HOXB7-siRNA (HOXB7 transfection group) were transfected into human colon cancer SW480 cells by LipofectamineTM2000 liposome mediated method,untreated cells as blank group.RT-PCR and Western blot were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression of HOXB7 after transfected 48 h respectively;cell proliferation was detected by CCK8 assay after transfected 24,48,72,96 h;cells apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry after transfected 48 h;the expression of apoptosis related proteins Bcl-2,Bax and Notch1 signaling pathway Notch1 and Hes1 were detected by Western blot.Results:The mRNA and protein expression of HOXB7 in HOXB7 transfected group was significantly lower than that in blank group(P<0.05);OD value was no statistical significance in the three groups after transfected 24 h(P>0.05), while after transfected 48,72,96 h,compared with the control group,OD value in HOXB7 group was significantly decreased(P<0.05);compared with the blank group,the apoptosis rate in HOXB7 transfection group increased significantly,and the expression of Bcl-2, Notch1 and Hes 1 proteins was down regulated,and the expression of Bax protein was up-regulated(P<0.05).Conclusion:RNA inter-ference in the expression of HOXB7 gene in colon cancer can inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells and induce apoptosis by inhibiting of the Notch1 signaling pathway.
