Helicobacter pylori(Hp) is an important pathogenic factor in chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and gastric cancer. With the extensive use of broad-spectrum atibiotics in recent years, the antibiotic resistence of Hp was increasing, together with many side effets and low patient compliance,so the study of new anti-Hp drugs became a research hotspot.Domestic and foreign scholars had extracted active anti-Hp ingredients from the traditional Chinese drug curcuma, they hope to open a new way for the treatment of Hp infection. This paper was to make a brief overview on the study progress of effect of curcuma on anti-Hp.

Objective To investigate the effects of mild hypothermia ( MH ) on the expression of my- eloperoxidase(MPO) and cyclooxygenase 2 (COX 2) in rats after cerebral ischemia and reperfusion (CIR). Methods Forty-eight Wistar rats were randomly divided into four control groups (n=6 in each) and four MH groups (n=6 in each).CIR models were established by suture occlusion of the left middle cerebral artery. The rats in the MH groups, but not in the control groups, were treated with MH.Rats were killed at 4 h,8 h,12 h and 16 h after CIR.MPO expression was measured, along with the expression of COX 2 as measured by Western blot- ting and immunohistochemical methods. Results Compared with the control groups,MPO activity and the COX 2 expression in the cortex and striatum were significantly lower in all the MH groups at 4 h,8 h,12 h and 16 h after CIR.Conclusion MH treatment can protect neurons by decreasing MPO activity and COX 2 expression,allevia- ting inflammation and reducing secondary injuries after CIR.

Increasing attention has been focused on the antitumor activity of artemisinin derivatives in recent years, for artemisinin had been reported to have cytotoxic effects against HL-60, P388 and MCF-7 tumor cells. We report here the synthesis and evaluation for antitumor activity of a series of artemisinin-ether derivatives bearing tetrahydropyrrole, morpholine, piperidine, substituted piperidines and azoles with various linkers. Sixteen 10-O-substituted dihydroartemisinin derivatives were designed and synthesized, all of which have never been reported in literatures and whose antiproliferative effects on human breast cancer MCF-7, MCF-7/Adr and HL-60 cells were determined by MTT assay or direct cell counting. Each of these artemisinin derivatives possessed better effects than dihydroartemisinin evidently against HL-60 and MCF-7 cells growth, while less potent than doxorubicin. All target compounds exhibited significantly improved potency compared to DHA and doxorubicin on the doxorubicin-resistant MCF-7/Adr cells, so did they in their sensitive counterparts MCF-7 cells. Among them, compounds GF02, GH04 and ZH04 showed strong activity against these three cell lines growth. Further research is undergoing.

Objective To study the pharmacokinetics profiles of ibupro-fen and pseudo ephedrine with chlorpheniramine suspension after single and multiple dosing in healthy volunteers. Methods Three single and one multiple oral doses of ibuprofen and pseudo ephedrine with chlorphe-niramine suspension were given to healthy volunteers respectively.Ibu-profen concentrations in plasma were determined by HPLC-UV method.Pseudo ephedrine and chlorpheniramine concentrations in plasma were determined by HPLC-MS-MS method. The pharmacokinetic parameters were obtained with statistical analysis by DAS Ver 2.0.Results The main pharmacokinetic parameters of 3 single doses(ibuprofen:200,400,600 mg pseudo ephedrine:30,60,90 mg;chlorpheniramine:2,4,6 mg)and multiple dose(ibuprofe, pseudo ephedrine and chlorphe-niramine 200,30,2 mg,respectively)shown that the concentration-time curves of ibuprofen, pseudo ephedrine and chlorpheniramine were described by one-compartment open model and physiological disposi-tions were assumed by linear kinetics characteristics. Conclusion In multiple dosing study, physiological dispositions of ibuprofen, pseudo e-phedrine and chlorpheniramine all existed no induction and inhibition of drug enzyme phenomenon.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate clinical outcomes of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) reconstruction under arthroscopy combined with limited open repair of medial collateral ligament (MCL) for the treatment of multiple ligament injuries of knee joints.
METHODSFrom March 2006 and June 2012,the data of 14 patients (14 knees) with multiple injuries of ACL, PCL, and MCL were collected. There were 8 males and 6 females with an average age of (31.8 +/- 8.1) years old (ranged, 20 to 49 years old). All the patients were performed with X-ray and MRI examination, and the results showed that 10 patients had combined with injuries of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL); 4 patients had ALC,PCL and posterolateral corner (PLC) injuries. Four patients had medial meniscus injuries and 2 patients had lateral meniscus injuries. The MCL,PLC and meniscus injuries were treated with operation on the first stage, and functional exercises were performed 3 weeks after fixation. The reconstruction operation of ACL and (or) PCL was performed at the second stage under arthroscopy 3 to 6 months later when the movement range of knee joint recovered to the normal level with obvious relaxation.
RESULTSAll incisions healed by primary intention. All the patients were followed up with a mean duration of 48.9 months (ranged, 24 to 80 months). The Lysholm score was improved from preoperative 19.6 +/- 0.9 to the latest follow-up 87.1 +/- 2.8 (t=12.3, P<0.01). The International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) rating: 9 cases nearly recovered to normal, 5 cases were abnormal.
CONCLUSIONFor multiple ligament injuries in the knee, staged repair and reconstruction can effectively restore knee joint stability and function.

Chinese Journal of Dermatology 2015;48(6):395-399
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of hydroxychloroquine combined with butyli flufenamatum ointment and other drugs for the treatment of polymorphous light eruption (PLE).Methods A total of 48 patients with PLE were randomly and equally classified into group 1 and group 2.Both groups took hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice a day and loratadine 10 mg per day for the initial 4 weeks, then took hydroxychloroquine 100 mg twice a day alone for another 4 weeks.Group 1 also topically applied butyli flufenamatum ointment twice a day during the 8 weeks, while group 2 applied mometasone furoate cream twice a day for the first 2 weeks followed by butyli flufenamatum ointment twice a day for another 6 weeks. Each treatment cycle lasted 2 weeks, and both groups received 4 cycles of treatment.Patients were evaluated for the response rate at the end of each cycle, and for the total symptom score and erythema score before and after the 8-week treatment.Statistical analysis was carried out using t test,chi-square test,Fisher's exact test and repeated-measures analysis of variance with the SPSS17.0 software. Results On day 14,28,42 and 56,the total score improved in 0,3,12 and 19 patients in group 1 respectively, and in 1,4,12 and 20 patients in group 2 respectively;the erythema score improved in 1,5,13 and 18 patients in group 1 respectively, and in 0,5,11 and 17 patients in group 2 respectively. No significant difference was observed between the two groups in response rates at any of the above four time points (P > 0.05).Both the total score and erythema score significantly decreased after the 8-week treatment in both groups compared with the pretreatment scores (both P < 0.05).No serious adverse reaction was observed in either of the two groups. Conclusions Hydroxychloroquine combined with loratadine and butyli flufenamatum ointment shows high efficacy and safety for the treatment of PLE.Topical butyli flufenamatum ointment is highly effective for the treatment of PLE,especially for PLE cases mainly presenting with erythema.
