Trichinella spiralis nudix hydrolase (TsNd) gene encoding a 46 kDa protein was expressed in Escherichia coli and the potential of recombinant TsNd protein (rTsNd) as an antigen for the serodiagnosis of trichinellosis was investigated by ELISA and compared with those of ELISA with T. spiralis muscle larval excretory–secretory (ES) antigens. The sensitivity of both ELISA was 100% (30/30), for the detection of anti-Trichinella IgG antibodies in sera of the experimentally infected mice, and the specificity of rTsNd-ELISA and ES-ELISA was 100% (54/54) and 98% (53/54), respectively (P>0.05). Serum anti-Trichinella antibodies were firstly detected by rTsNd-ELISA at 14 days post infection (dpi), then continued to increase with a detection rate of 100% at 36 dpi. The anti-Trichinella antibody levels at different times after infection were statistically different (P<0.05). The results showed that the rTsNd might be a potential candidate antigen for specific serodiagnosis of trichinellosis. But, it needs to be further evaluated with sera of the patients with trichinellosis and other helminthiasis.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic evaluation of isotropic scanning and Lung Care soft- ware in solitary pulmonary nodules,and to improve the diagnostic accuracy.Methods 52 patients suffered from SPN were included in our study.Two experts in CT analyzed the films.First,they read the axial images and made diagnosis.Then isotropic scanning and lung care software approaches were used on 16 spiral CT and another analysis were made again.The results were compared with pathological diagnosis respectively. Objective To investigate the effect of different Chinese herbs on cell proliferation and cartilage oligomeric matrix protein(COMP)expression in chondrocyte culture.Methods Chondrocytes isolated from rabbit knee cartilage were cultured for 3 generations with the density of 2?10~4/cm~2 and were verified by collagenⅡimmunohistochemical staining.Rabbit sera containing herbs were obtained after animals orally ad- ministrated herbs at the dosage equivalent to human.At 5% and 10% serum density,cells were cultured in the medium that contained liver-softening herbal compound sera.Subgroups setting at 1,3 and 5 hours after herb intervention were observed.Rabbit and bovine sera were control groups.Seven days after intervention,chon- drocytes proliferation was observed using the MTT assay kit.For the study of COMP expression,chondrocytes were isolated from human knee cartilage supematant.Superuatant COMP level was tested by enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assays(ELISA)after directly adding compound and extract from liver-softening herbs to the culture at the final concentration of 10 mg/ml for 3 days.Results Liver-softening herbal compound group had significant effect on cell proliferation compared to control,of which,3-hour subgroup was more significant than 1-and 5-hour subgroups(P

Objective To investigate the changes of thyroid hormone in peritoneal dialysis patients and analyse its impact factors, as well as the therapeutic effects of small dose of thyroxine.Methods 150 uremic patients in Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital from December 2013 to December 2014 were selected, 70 cases of uremia non-dialysis patients were divided into group A, while 80 uremia peritoneal dialysis for more than half a year were divided into group B.70 cases healthy examinees during the same period in our hospital were selected as control group ( group C ) . The total triiodothyronine (T3), total thyroxine (T4), free triiodothyronine (FT3), free thyroxine (FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), hemoglobin (Hb), serum albumin (ALB), total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), serum creatinine (SCr), C reactive protein (CRP) and left ventricular ejection fraction ( LVEF) , subjective global assessment of nutritional act ( SGA) and other indicators were detected in three groups.Patients in group B were divided into two sub-groups according to thyroid hormone levels: B1 group had normal thyroid level while B2 abnormal.And the administration of small dose of thyroid hormone was given to patients in group B2, and the effect of the administration was evaluated by the above indexes.Results The FT3 in group A and B were significantly lower than that in group C (P<0.01).There were significant differences of levels of ALB, CRP, SGA between group B1 and group B2, and the FT3 level in group B was significant correlated with SGA, ALB, LVEF(r=0.815,P<0.001;r=0.780,P<0.001;r=0.953,P<0.001).After treated with small dose of thyroid hormone, FT3 and LVEF were improved while FT4, TSH, ALB, SGA, CRP were not improved in group B2.Conclusion The thyroid hormone level in patients with continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis decreases which is dominated with FT3.The decreased thyroid level is significantly correlated with nutrition ( ALB, SGA) and left ventricular function.The administration of small dose of thyroid hormone can improve the left ventricular systolic function.

Objective To explore the changes in cardiac index and oxygenation index in sepsis piglets after nitric oxide (NO) gas inhalation. Methods A piglet model of sepsis was induced by intravenous infusion of Gram-negative bacterial endotoxin (LPS), then the piglets were randomly divided into two groups. NO group (n=8) was administered with inhaled nitric oxide of 80ppm via volume control (VC) mechanical ventilation for one hour, while the control group (n = 4) received mechanical ventilation with VC and was observed for one hour to assess the stability of the model. The parameters of oxygenation and hemodynamics were measured by PICCO and arterial blood gas analysis every fifteen minutes for one hour. Results Injection of endotoxin induced a stable pig model of sepsis. PH, HCO3-, arterial oxygen pressure (PaO2), mean arterial pressure (MAP) and cardiac index in this model were significantly lower the baseline values (P < 0.01). Arterial oxygen pressure and cardiac index were significantly higher in N0 group than in the control group (P<0.01). Heart rate (HR), central venous pressure (CVP), global end-diastolic volume index (GEDI) and intrathoracic blood volume index (ITBI) did not significantly differ between NO group and the control group. Conclusions Inhalation of nitric oxide gas can significantly improve oxygenation and cardiac function in piglets with sepsis.

Objective To observe and evaluate acute toxicities in a series of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive cancer patients receiving radiation therapy.Methods The study retrospectively reviewed the acute radiation reaction of radiation therapy of 14 HIV seropositive patients diagnosed with carcinoma between Feb 2008 and Dec 2013 at the Yunnan Tumor Hospital during the radiotherapy period and 1 month following treatment.Acute adverse effects were classified according to the site of radiation therapy and analyzed using the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) version 3.0.Results Seven patients experienced interruptions or delays in treatment,and 2 stopped treatment entirely.The most common acute adverse effects were skin reactions and mucous membrane reactions,including dermatitis,stomatitis or diarrhea.Eight patients had grade 3 acute adverse effects,including 6 patients with grade 3 skin reactions and 2 patients with grade 3 mucosa reactions.Conclusions Radiotherapy is an effective treatment for HIV positive patients with tumors,however it frequently induced severe acute radiation responses.
