Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture and massage on tiptoe in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods 49 children with spastic cerebral palsy were divided into treatment group (n=24) and control group (n=25) in accordance with the order of visiting. The control group accepted routine rehabilitation, and the treatment group accepted acupuncture and massage in addition. They were assessed with Composite Spasticity Scale (CSS), the angle of ankle passive dorsiflexion before and after treatment. Results The scores of CSS and the angle of ankle passive dorsiflexion improved in both groups after treatment (P<0.001), and improved more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.001). The rate of improvement was 95.6% in the treatment group, and 78.26% in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Acupuncture and massage may further improve the correcting of the tiptoe in children with spastic cerebral palsy.

OBJECTIVETo study the influence of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) transplantation on hypoxic pulmonary hypertension (HPH) in rats.

METHODSSD rats MSCs were separated, cultivated, identified and labeled by the green fluorescence protein (GFP) gene virus and transplanted in vitro. Healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into four groups: Normal control group (NC group) and HPH group (eight rats respectively), HPH+ MSCs transplantation group and HPH+ VEGF+ MSCs transplantation group (twenty-four respectively). The test employed atmospheric intermittent low oxygen method to establish the rat model of pulmonary hypertension and stem cells were transferred and transplanted. The rats' mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) was observed; right ventricular hypertrophy index (RVHI) was calculated; the morphological change of lung small artery in various groups of rats was observed under the microscope; the distribution of lung small artery and adenovirus transfection fluorescently labeled MSCs was observed under a fluorescent microscope after 7, 14 and 28 days when stem cell was transplanted.

RESULTSFor NC group, the mPAP (mmHg) was 15.5 +/- 1.5 after twenty-eight days while the mPAPs for HPH , MSCs and MSCs+ VEGF were 26.1 +/- 1.9, 21.6 +/- 2.7 and 20.1 +/- 2.9 respectively which were apparently higher than that of NC group (P < 0.01) and compared with HPH group (P < 0.01), which declined clearly. There was no significant difference between MSCs and MSCs+ VEGF. After twenty-eight days, RVHI for NC group was 0.28 +/- 0.02 while the RVHI for HPH, MSCs and MSCs + VEGF were 0.43 +/- 0.07, 0.34 +/- 0.03 and 0.35 +/- 0.01 respectively which was apparently higher than that of NC group (P < 0.01) but which was clearly lower than that of MSCs and MSCs+ VEGF (P < 0.05) and there was no significant difference between MSCs and MSCs + VEGF. For HPH group, pulmonary arteriole wall became apparently thicker, the lumen became significantly narrow and nearly obstructed after twenty-eight days, the endothelial cells were incomplete; compared with HPH group, pulmonary arteriole wall of MSCs group became thin, the lumen was smooth and the completeness of endothelial cells was improved. Whereas for MSCs and MSCs + VEGF, these changes were not significantly clear.

CONCLUSIONAfter MSCs transplantation, mPAP and RVHI decline sharply and lung small artery remodeling is improved which partially reverses HPH process; there is no significant difference between VEGF together with MSCs transplantation group and pure MSCs.

To examine the relationship between genetic variants in the interleukin-6 receptor gene and obesity. The result showed that the carriers of Asp358 homozygotes had higher risk in developing obesity when compared with Ala358 homozygotes (OR = 1.32,95% CI 1.07-1.68, P = 0. 041). Interleukin-6 receptor gene pulymorphism was significantly associated with obesity.

Objective To investigated the expression of intracellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1)in mouse to rat cardiac xenograft and the effects of leflunomide and cyclosporine.Methods NIH mice and Wistar rats served as donors and recipients respectively.Mouse to rat heterotopic heart transplantation was performed(in the neck).The experiments were divided into 4 groups:CsA group,leflunomide(Lef)group,CsA+Lef group,control group.It was the time of rejection that no pulsation could be detected in the transplanted heart.The expression of ICAM-1 protein in cardiac xenograft tissue was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blot in each group.Results The survival time of cardiac xenograft in control group,CsA group,Lef group and CsA+Lef group was (2.17?0.41),(2.50?1.05),(4.17?1.33)and(6.50?2.56)days respectively.The expression of ICAM-1 protein(IOD)in cardiac xenograft tissue in control group,CsA group,Lef group and CsA+ Lef group was 155.40?5.33,150.73?5.13,104.65?6.15 and 29.24?2.76 respectively.Conclu- sion The expression of ICAM-1 protein was strong in mouse to rat cardiac xenograft.The combined use of Lef and CsA can significantly suppress the expression of ICAM-1 protein in the cardiac xenograft.

Objective To investigate the roles of theaflavins(TFs) in airway mucus hypersecretion induced by human neutrophil elastase(HNE). Methods Human lung adenocarcinoma cell A549 was stimulated by HNE for mucus hypersecretion,and TF monomers(TF1,TF2 and TF3) were used for intervention.The effects of TF monomers on viability of A549 cells were examined by MTT method.After the effective doses of TFs were determined,A549 cells were divided into 4 groups for experiment.In control group,A549 cells were cultured with serum-free medium.In HNE treatment group,A549 cells were treated with HNE(50 nmol/L) for 24 h.In TF monomer intervention groups,A549 cells were pre-treated with TF1,TF2 or TF3(50,100 or 200 ?g/mL) for 24 h,and were then treated with HNE for another 24 h.In AG1478 intervention group,A549 cells were pre-treated with AG1478(5 ?mol/L),an epidermal growth factor receptor blocker for 30 min,and were then treated with HNE for another 24 h.The changes in mucin(MUC) after treatment by different doses of TF1,TF2 and TF3,and by TF3(200 ?g/mL) for different time(12 h,24 h and 36 h) were detected.The changes in MUC5AC mRNA expression and MUC5AC protein expression were detected by RT-PCR and ELISA,respectively. This study was based on live yeast cell derivative (LYCD), which was produced by live yeast cell stressed with high temperature and H 2O 2. The results showed that pretreating of low dose(37℃and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2) could increase the content of GSH and the activity of SOD and CAT. These pretreatment could induce the resistance to lethal concentration of H 2O 2. LYCD was produced by yeast treated with 37℃ and 0.2mmol/L H 2O 2. And it was found that the survival of yeast treated with lethal concentration of H 2O 2 obviously increased, while LYCD was added in yeast culture. It indicated that LYCD could have resistance to oxidative condition.

Objective This study was performed to assess the clinical feasibility of video-assisted mediastinoscopic lymphadenectomy in the treatment of resectable lung cancer.Methods Between March 2011 and May 2012,we retrospectively analyzed the data from 56 patients who underwent video-assisted mediastinoscopic lymphadenectomy(VAMLA).In patients receiving tumour resection subsequently,radicality of the previous mediastinoscopic dissection was controlled during thoracotomy.Results Mean operative time of video-assisted mediastinoscopic lymphadenectomy was(42.0 ± 13.5) min(range of 26-86 min).Mean number of resected lymph nodes was 12.4 ± 6.7 (range of 5-24).In video-assisted mediastinoscopic lymphadenectomy,the rates of lymph node dissection of stations 2,4,5,7,8 were 54.5％,92.7％,58.2％,100％,61.8％,respectively,there was no operative mortality and morbility.90.9％ patients achieved radical dissection.Conclusion Video-assisted mediastinoscopic lymphadenectomy is a clinically feasible procedure and provides more accurate staging of mediastinal node in lung cancer patients.It also plays an important role in minimal invasive surgery and neoadjuvant therapy.

AIM:To discuss Daidzein intravitreal injection whether has protective and recovery effects on acute nerve damages.
METHODS:After the crush models of acute optic nerve were set up, 72 males SD rats were divided into 4 groups randomly as common group without surgery, FBS negative control group, Daidzein treatment group ( 10μmol/L, 100μmol/L, 1000μmol/L ) and positive control group using rats nerve growth factor ( mNGF, 100ng/mL ). Three days after interference, all experimental animals were executed. HE staining was used to evaluate morphologic change of the retina, immunohisochemical staining and western-blot tests for identifying and quantifying the distinct expression of Caspase-3 and GAP-43 among the groups.
RESULTS: Compared with the normal group and negative control group, retinal morphology of different concentrations of each Daidzein treatment group and positive control group was more complete, the expression of Caspase-3 protein was relatively lower, the expression of GAP-43 protein was relatively higher, the differences have statistically significance (P<0. 05).CONCLUSION: Daizein injection in the vitreous cavity has the capacity of protection and restoration in rat's acute nerve damages.
