Objective To determine the effects of practicing a simplified 24 movement form of Tai chi on the level of inflammatory cytokines and the quality of life of type 2 diabetes patients. Methods A group of type 2 diabetes patients practiced a simplified 24 movement Tai chi routine 60 min/d, 3 d/week for 6 months. Plasma glu-cose and insulin concentration were monitored. The plasma level of IL-6, IL-18, sCD40L, hsCRP and HBAc1 were measured. Changes in the patients' quality of life were also measured by using the SF-36. Results Serum IL-6,IL-18, hsCRP and sCD40L levels were all significantly lower compared with a control group. Significant quality of life improvements were seen in the Tai chi group compared with the controls. Significant reductions were seen in blood pressure, glycated haemoglobin, glucose, insulin resistance and urinary albumin. Conclusions These results sug-gest that regular Tai chi practice can prevent complications and improve the quality of life of diabetes sufferers through glyeaemic control and down-regulating inflammatory cytokine levels.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2022;57(9):2570-2579
Tumor cells leads to enhanced glucose uptake and the conversion of a larger fraction of pyruvate into lactate even under the circumstance of abundant oxygen. This phenomenon of aerobic glycolysis is known as the Warburg effect. Lactic acid, as an important tool for tumor cells to modify the tumor microenvironment, promotes the process of tumor invasion and metastasis, and contributes to tumor development by inducing and recruiting immunosuppression-related cells and molecules. Lactic acid could efflux out of the cancer cells

Field avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) designated as JS/9 5/03, which was isolated from Jiangsu province of china, was cultivated in chicken emb ryo. It's single strain RNA was extracted from purified virus and worked as temp late of reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), a pair of pri mer designed according to megalign results of published IBV sequences in Genbank was used to amplify the neucleocapsid gene, the RT-PCR product was sequenced d irectly. Sequence analysis revealed that the sequence of JS/95/03 is most homolo gized with that of M41 strain.

Objective To evaluate the diagnostic value of 64 multidetector-row CT angiography for internal carotid artery(ICA)stenosis and the application in the follow-up of carotid endarterectomy and percutaneous transluminal stenting. Methods Forty transient ischemie attack(TIA)patients with interpretable CTA and DSA of the cervical carotid arteries were selected from May 2005 to December 2005. This yielded a total of 80 vessels. The CTA curved planar reformations(CPR)and DSA images referenced to the distal cervical internal carotid were graded by two senior neuroradiologists blindly, according to the North American Symptomatic Carotid Endarterectomy Trial(NASCET)guidelines. The paired-t test was used to verify the statistical significant difference between pre-operating and post-operating of carotid endarterectomy or percutaneous transluminal stenting in measuring the vascular diameter and area of cross section using CTA.Results When the 70% stenosis was used as the cut-off value, the seasitivity, specificity, negative predictive value, and the positive predicting value were 97%,95%,95%,and 98%,respectively.There was statistically significant difference in measuring the vascular diameter(P

A series of experiments were conducted to study the mutation of Kloechera apiculata by many kinds of treatments such as UV and UV+LiCl.The optimal dosage disposal was determined:15 W 30 cm under Ultraviolet irradiation for 20 s,UV+LiCl under Ultraviolet irradiation for 20 s and added LiCl 0.3% (w/v).One strain(UV20-13)which had obvious physiological characteristic was obtained.the incidence of blue and green mold of citrus was reduced by 25.56%and 10.00%in vivo experiment after 7 days respectively. The strain UV20-13 was tested by the experiments of subculture and dynamic growth, and the results showed that the strain UV20-13 was better than K.apiculata in the growth characteristics, and it did not appear retrogression, reversion mutation ect after subculturing 10 generations. Therefore the strain UV20-13 had genetic stability.

Objective:To investigate the expression profile variation of long non-coding RNA( lncRNA) in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of rheumatoid arthritis ( RA ) and healthy controls, and explore the role of lncRNA in the pathogenesis of RA.Methods:A total of 12 RA patients and 11 age-matched healthy controls from University Hospital of Hubei University for Nationalities were recruited.Using lncRNA microarray technology to detect differently expressed lncRNAs in 3 cases of RA PBMCs and 3 cases of healthy controls.GO and Pathway analysis was performed. The coding-non-coding gene co-expression networks of lncRNA and mRNA was constructed based on the correlation analysis, and then searched lncRNA in pathogenesis of RA through the cis-analysis and trans-analysis.Results:A total of 1 615 deregulated lncRNAs and 878 deregulated mRNAs were detected in RA patients.GO analysis of different expressed mRNA may involve in metal ion binding, protein kinase binding, nucleotide binding, regulation of transcription,et al.Pathway analysis of different expressed mRNA may involve in TNF signaling pathway,B cell receptor signaling pathway, pancreatic cancer, system lupus erythematosus endometrial cancer,et al.REL,SMAD3 and ETS1 may play an important role in the pathogenesis and development of RA through cis-analysis and trans-analysis.As the NONHSAG027875,FR378506 and NONHSAT031501 also had the similar function, and they may be related to the pathogenesis and development of RA.Conclusion:Differentially expressed lncRNAs may exert a partial role in RA,and may provide potential targets for future treatment of RA.

Objective:To summarize the evidence for the link between rheumatoid arthritis and risk of vertebral fractures or vertebral deformities with a meta-analysis, so as to provide objective proof for early preventing and the development of vertebral deformity and fractures. Methods:Wanfang,CNKI,VIP,PUBMED,Springlink and Elsevier were retrieved for all publications relating to rheumatoid arthritis and vertebral fractures in women.According to inclusion and exclusion criteria, two investigators collected their data individually, then statistical analysis was performed using Stata 12.0 software. Results: Eight case-control studies were enrolled, including 86 741 participants,2 258 of them with RA.The results of Meta-analysis showed that a higher incidence of vertebral fractures in RA,and Odds ratio was 3.70 with a 95%confidence interval(2.47-5.55,P<0.000 1).The publication bias analysis did not reveal any evidence of obvious asymmetry, and the sensitivity analysis showed that omission of any individual study made no significant difference for all comparison models, suggesting that our results were statistically robust. Conclusion:RA may be one of the risk factors for the vertebral fractures.
