Chinese Journal of Immunology 2016;32(12):1826-1829
Objective:To investigate the relationship of the immune response and immune imbalance mediated by Th17 cells and Treg cells with pulmonary function in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ( COPD) patients. Methods:90 COPD patients and 45 healthy volunteers with matched age and sex were selected. The COPD patients were divided into 2 groups according to the patient's condition. 45 healthy volunteers were collected as the control group. The lung function, Th17 cells, Treg cells and serum levels of in-flammatory cytokines were detected and compared. Results:In COPD patients, the FEV1%, FVC%, FEV1/FVC, Th17,Th17/Treg and inflammatory cytokines had increased in an order of moderate COPD, severe COPD and very severe COPD (P<0. 05). Treg had in-creased in an order of very severe COPD, severe COPD and moderate COPD ( P<0. 05 ) . FEV1%, FVC% and FEV1/FVC were negatively correlated with Th17 and Th17/Treg (P<0. 05). FEV1%, FVC% and FEV1/FVC were positively correlated with Treg (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Th17/Treg in peripheral blood of COPD patients is significantly correlated with the decrease of pulmonary func-tion.

OBJECTIVETo study the effects of intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) and aspirin treatment on the functions of circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) in children with Kawasaki disease (KD) and possible mechanisms.
METHODSBlood samples were obtained in 10 children with KD before and 7 days after the treatment by IVIG and aspirin. MTT method, modified Boyden chamber method and cell culture plate adhesion method were used to assess the functions of EPCs, including proliferation, adhension and migration activities. The plasma levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) were also measured.
RESULTSThe functions of circulating EPCs 7 days after IVIG and aspirin treatment were significantly improved. IVIG and aspirin treatment significantly reduced plasma TNF-α and hs-CRP concentrations. There was a significant linear regression relationship between the reduced plasma TNF-α and hs-CRP levels and the increased functions of circulating EPCs.
CONCLUSIONSIVIG and aspirin treatment can improve the functions of circulating EPCs, possibly through reducing plasma concentrations of TNF-α and hs-CRP.

Objective:To investigate the effect of exposure to occupational hazard factors on serum bilirubin in workers. Methods:In April 2019, using cluster sampling method 5 433 workers exposed to occupational hazard factors from July 2017 to March 2019 were screened out by questionnaire and laboratory test, the date of serum bilirubin were used by the logistic regression analysis of single factor card test and wilcoxon band symbol rank and test. Results:The bilirubin decreases with age, is higher in male than in female, the han is higher than the uygur, and the unmarried workers is higher than the married one, there was significant difference in the levels of bilirubin between different genders, ages, ethnic groups and marriages ( P<0.01) . There were statistically significant differences in bilirubin among the occupational hazard factors ( P<0.01) , the bilirubin level is highest in the exposure to physical factors, followed by chemical factors and dust. The multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the dust was the main factor affecting bilirubin ( ORdusr/TBIL=2.080, 95% CI: 1.542~2.807, P<0.01) . Abnormal alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and alanine aminotransferase (AST) are consistent with elevated bilirubin. Conclusion:Exposure to occupational hazard factors may lead to elevated serum bilirubin and abnormal liver function transaminase, the prevention and control of occupational hazards and cccupational health monitoring should be strengthened.

National Journal of Andrology 2017;23(6):483-487
Ejaculatory duct obstruction (EDO) is one of the obstructive factors for 1-5% of all cases of male infertility and it is, however, surgically correctable. Congenital developmental abnormality is a most common cause of EDO. The clinical manifestations of EDO are varied, typically with the decline of four semen parameters. Transrectal ultrasonography is an important imaging method for the diagnosis of EDO and guidance in its surgery. MRI provides high-resolution images of the reproductive system as evidence. Transurethral resection of the ejaculatory duct (TURED) is a classical operation, the application of transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy has become a new trend of minimally invasive surgery in the treatment of EDO, and the latest flexible vesiculovasoscopy (FVV) or vasoscopy techniques may further improve the diagnosis and treatment of EDO.

OBJECTIVETo evaluate the sodium content and energy of commercial dishes in 4 Chinese restaurants in Beijing.
METHODSFrom June to August of 2011, 4 medium-sized restaurants were selected by convenience sampling method. Overall, 47 commercial dishes (including 9 cold dishes and 38 cooked dishes) consumed at least 6 times by consumers and provided by at least 2 restaurants were selected. One complete serving was selected for each dish to investigate its energy and sodium content, and calculate its sodium density.
RESULTSThe median value of sodium content in cold dishes and cooked dishes were 580, 522 mg/100 g (Z = 0.83, P > 0.05) or 1427, 2301 mg/serving (Z = 2.03, P < 0.05); the median sodium density for cold and cooked dishes were 1902 and 670 mg/1000 kJ (Z = 2.81, P < 0.01); the median value of energy in cold dishes and cooked dishes were 514, 717 kJ/100 g (Z = 2.15, P < 0.05) or 1113, 3492 kJ/serving (Z = 4.03, P < 0.05). Of the 47 dishes, 46.8% (22/47) exceeded the daily recommendation of sodium content for Chinese residents (2200 mg).
CONCLUSIONThe commercial dishes in medium-sized Chinese restaurants provide a relatively higher energy and sodium. Cold dishes contain less energy but have high sodium density, so the sodium from these dishes could not be ignored.

OBJECTIVETo observe the changes of sperm chromatin in patients with oligo-astheno-teratozoospermia (OAT) syndrome after treated by integrated Chinese and Western medicine.
METHODSSixty patients with OAT syndrome were treated by integrated Chinese and Western medicine for 3 months. Their sperm samples were collected before and after the treatment, subjected to acridine orange staining and analyzed by fluorescent microscopy, flow cytometry and sperm routine detection.
RESULTSSignificant differences were shown in the master-group sperm signals (P < 0.01) and at and COMPalphat (P < 0.05) by flow cytometry, as well as in the green and the red groups (P < 0.05) by fluorescent microscopy before and after the treatment. Changes in sperm concentration, motility, vitality and deformity were noted after the treatment, with statistic difference between pre- and post-treatment (P < 0.05) except in forward sperm concentration.
CONCLUSIONTreatment by integrated Chinese and Western medicine can improve sperm chromatin in patients with OAT syndrome. Flow cytometry, along with fluorescent microscopy and sperm routine detection, plays an important role in the evaluation of male infertility therapy.

OBJECTIVETo study the function of circulating endothelial progenitor cells and its relationship with serum concentrations of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (Hs-CRP) in children with Kawasaki disease.
METHODSTen children with Kawasaki disease and ten healthy children as a control group were enrolled. The peripheral mononuclear cells were induced into endothelial progenitor cells using Dulbecco's Modified Eagle Medium containing vascular endothelial growth factor and basic fibroblast growth factor. The proliferative ability, migratory ability and adhesive ability of endothelial progenitor cells were assessed by MTT methods, modified Boyden chamber methods and cell culture plate adhesion method, respectively. The concentrations of serum Hs-CRP were measured by latex enhanced turbidimetric immunoassay.
RESULTSThe proliferative ability, migratory ability and adhesive ability of endothelial progenitor cells in the Kawasaki disease group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.01). The serum concentrations of Hs-CRP in the Kawasaki disease group were significantly higher than those in the control group (87.1+/-30.2 mg/L vs 5.3+/-3.4 mg/L; P<0.01). The function of circulating endothelial progenitor cells was negatively correlated with serum concentrations of Hs-CRP in the Kawasaki disease group.
CONCLUSIONSThe function of circulating endothelial progenitor cells is decreased in children with Kawasaki disease, which may be associated with the abnormal expression of inflammatory mediators.
