Objective:To study the effect of calmodulin on reactive astrocytosis and formation of glial scar after astrocytes are injured.Methods:Astrocytes were prepared from newborn rat cerebral cortex and evaluated the purity by immunostaining of glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP).The astrocyes injury model was made by means of surgical blade scraping.We observed the concentration of intracellular free calcium before and after injury in dynamic state.Then injured astrocytes were divided into two groups.The intervention group was added with suppressive agent of calmodulin-trifluoperazin dihydrochloride(TFP)after injury;the control group wae added into nothing.At different times after injury,we performed immunocytochemical staining for glial fibrillary acidic protein(GFAP)on each group and immunocytochemical staining photographs were analyzed by image analysis system,obtaining average optical densities.Results:Concentration of the tracellular free calcium increased quickly 2 minutes after astrocytes were injured。The immunocytochemical staining results indicated the control group and the intervention group had statistical significance.Conclusion:After astrocytes were injured the intracellular free calcium concentration obviously incredsed,activated the intracellular Ca2+signal pathway and participatal in the proliferation.TFP can obviously inhibit this proliferation reaction after the astrocytes are injured.

In addition to the function of killing the tumor cells directly,radiotherapy can induce the changes of quantity and function of the immune cells in the tumor microenvironment,which affects the function of anti-tumor immunity.Clarification of the effects of radiotherapy on quantity and function of the immune cells in the microenvironment can provide a theoretical guidance in the treatment of tumor.

OBJECTIVE: To raise awareness of granulomatosis with polyangiitis by summarizing its nasal mani- festations and treatment experience. METHOD: Retrospective studies were done to the nasal clinical manifestations and treatment processes of 21 GPA patients in this study. All were treated by the combined treatment of glucocorticoid, cyclophosphamide as well as tripterygium wilfordii, and 4 of them who had much heavier nasal symptoms were treated by endoscopic sinus operation at the same time. RESULT: Eighteen cases were effective treated by medical treatments besides 3 were died of all 21 cases. The nasal symptoms of those 4 patients were obviously improved, and still had effective drainage of sinus after operation with 8-22 months follow up, although the sinus ostiums were reduced comparing to themselves intraoperation at different degree. CONCLUSION GPA is always been ignored which will lead to delay treatment due to the lack of specificity of its clinical manifestations. So, enough attention is the key point of avoiding misdiagnosis as well as providing timely treatment for these patients.

So asthma with these features mentioned above can have important effect on children′s emo-tional and physical development as well as their families. This review sketches the studies of children asthma family management present situation and its influencing factors,and stresses the necessity of asthma family man-agement. Methods of psychotherapy used in our country and abroad and its implementation effect are reviewed, including behavior therapy,cognitive therapy,cognitive behavioral therapy,relaxation therapy,family therapy and other existing psychological treatment,in order that these measures can be conductive to the development of pre-vention methods of pediatric asthma and further researches.

The distal humeral fractures are difficult to treat because of the nature of the injury. Although numerous operative approaches have been describe d for them,satisfactory results are difficult to achieve because of the postoper ative complications.We have reviewed relative literature to discuss the incidenc e,cause,prophylaxis and treatment of different complications to deepen the knowl edge of distal humeral fractures.

Since the chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) can cause serious disease burden and consume huge amounts of health resources to human life,research on CKD received increasing attention.For the particularity of the elderly,whether the current definition,stages and renal function assessment of CKD should be distinguished from the adults has been controversial.We conducted a comprehensive review on these issues.Furthermore,the studies on the epidemiologic status,trends,and characteristics of CKD for the elderly were summarized,and possible reasons for the differences between the various studies were analyzed.

Objective To explore the relationship between resveratrol and Notch 1 signalling pathway in podocytes.Methods Interference RNA (RNAi) and doxycycline (Dox) were used to inhibit the Sirtuin (SIRT) 1 expression in the wild-type and inducible SIRT1 shRNA (CAGGS) podocytes respectively.Recombinant mouse delta-like ligand 4 (DLL4) was used to activate Notch1 signalling.The message RNA of SIRT1,Notch1 downstream gene Hes1 and Hey2,as well as the key enzymes of Notch1 signalling pathway were detected by using real-time PCR.Western blotting was used to detect intracellular domain of Notch 1 (ICD1),SIRT1,and metalloprotease (ADAM) 10 and components of γ-secretase complex protein expression.Results In WT murine podoytes,resveratrol up-regulated ICD1 protein production,as well as the mRNA of Hes1 and Hey2 in a dose-dependent manner.Treatment with resveratrol resulted Nicastrin mRNA and protein increase in podocytes (P ＜0.05),as well as inhibit ADAM10 expression (P ＜ 0.05),but all these changes were prevented after the use of SIRT1 RNAi(P ＜ 0.05).DLL4 up-regulated the expression of mRNA of Hes1 and Hey2,as well as ICD1 protein production in a dose-dependent manner.Treatment with doxycycline resulted decrease of SIRT1 gene and protein expression in CAGGS podocytes after 24 h and 48 h respectively(P ＜ 0.05),which weakend the role of DLL4 significantly(P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Resveratrol induces Nicastrin expression,as well as activation of Notch1 signalling pathway in a SIRT1-dependent manner.

The major surgical managements for tibial plateau fractures are anatomical reduction, firm fixation and bone grafting. There have appeared many new techniques in recent years, such as less invasive stability system (LISS) and arthroscopy assisted treatment. But such complications as loss of reduction, infection, soft tissue lesion around the knee, nonunion, posttraumatic arthritis, and knee stiffness seem to be inevitable. This article introduces the mechanism, treatment and prevention of the complications of the tibial plateau fracture.
